The Boys Pleased with the Book

“Dear Sir, I wish to express my many thanks in these few lines for the Testament you have so kindly sent to me. I am sure it is a splendid thing to have by one at any time.
“We had a Minister of the Church of England to see us in our Ward, and he gave us a postcard each, and a few words in which he remarked ‘that there was one thing which he thought made a good soldier, and that was a clean rifle and a dirty Testament.’
“Don’t you think that a very good statement?
“I am a Primitive Methodist myself and I have been a constant believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
“I am sure that all the boys in our ward are very pleased with the book, and each of them say they would like one each, so if it be possible, would you kindly forward eighteen, and if you could send one for our dear Sister That will make the number to nineteen, also a few tracts.— I remain, yours is the service of Christ,— Pte. C. D―.”
