The Fool's Creed

The wish is father to the doctrine. Men don't want to have anything to do with God, and next they persuade themselves that there is "No God." They say so in their hearts.
There was a certain blustering young man who was one of the fools who say, "There is no God." He was continually arguing and showing his cleverness in the workshop among his fellows, sneering at their foolishness in believing there is a God, and the like. But one day a huge beam fell and crushed him to the ground. While his fellow-workmen were trying to extricate him, they heard him crying
"God have mercy on me.”
Ah! yes, the prospect of death and what follows it—the judgment—makes men throw off the mask, and appear as they are.
"As it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." Heb. 9:27, 2827And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:27‑28).
"The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psa. 14:11<<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (Psalm 14:1).
"He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in Himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life." 1 John 5:10-1310He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:10‑13).
