The Inheritance

Listen from:
"Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession." Psa. 2:8. This is a gift from the Father to the Son, the Church, called out from among the Gentiles, and the universe. Israel was never the gift, but the Church and the universe are.
There are three companies upon the earth today, Jews, Gentiles, and the Church of God. 1 Cor. 10:32.
After the rapture of the saints, the Jew and the Gentile will be left to populate the earth. The Church will be in the Father's house. "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance." Eph. 1:11.
"In whom also, after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance." Eph. 1:13,14.
All of these truths are in the counsels of God from the past eternity for the glory of Christ and the saints.
"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you." 1 Peter 1:4. The character of the inheritance with its unfading destiny is expressed in this Scripture.
"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God." Eph. 2:19.
The newly created universe, given by the Father to the Son, will be the sphere for our enjoyment with Christ, His companions for the eternal ages.
"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the villages. Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear, and the pomegranates bud forth: there will I give thee my loves. The mandrakes give a smell, and at our gates are all manner of pleasant fruits, new and old, which I have laid up for thee, O my beloved." Sol. 7:10-13. The vine and grapes speak of joy, the pomegranates of the one body.
Such are the hints of the eternal joys of companionship between the Bridegroom and the bride. Psa. 19 suggests the same fellowship. Have we laid up fruits for our Beloved?
"In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, (Christ is the Sun.), Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof." Psa. 19:1-6. N.T.
"O Lord! our hearts are waiting,
Th' archangel's heaven-sent cry,
Which wakes the saints now sleeping,
And to Thee brings them nigh.
When we, with them ascending,
Shall meet Thee in the air, To gaze upon Thy glory,
And all Thy likeness bear.
"O hour! for which in patience
Thou'st waited through the night,
Whilst we Thy saints were gathered,
And brought into the light;
Then, then, the church completed,
God makes no more delay;
O Lord, with shouts of triumph,
We pass into the day.
"O hour of richest blessing!
When brought to Thee so nigh,
To be Thy joy forever,
We share Thy throne on high;
To rest in all that brightness,
And ever there abide;
To find Thy heart delighting
In us, Thy ransomed bride.
"O blessed, coming Savior!
Speak, then, the joyous word,
To which our hearts responding,
`Forever with the Lord.'
Forever with Thee, Savior-
For evermore shall be-
In deepest, fullest blessing,
Forever one with Thee."
