"The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace" (Exodus 14:14).
"Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord" (Exodus 14:13).
"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord ... fear not nor be dismayed ... for the Lord will be with you" (2 Chronicles 20:17).
"With us is the Lord our God, to help us, and to fight our battles" (2 Chronicles 32:8).
"In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength" (Isaiah 30:15).
"Their strength is to sit still" (Isaiah 30:7).
"The Lord shall fight for you,
And ye shall hold your peace,"
He will your battles undertake,
Bid fears and worries cease.
He will your cause defend,
The faithful, strong and true,
Will with your enemies contend,
Your God shall fight for you.
Then confidently wait,
Your strength is to "sit still,"
Commit your cause into His hand,
And trust His sovereign will.
What heritage is this!
For children of the Lord;
That God their battles will assume,
And be their sure reward.
"The Lord shall fight for you,"
And shield from every harm,
Though adversary powers arise,
They need not cause alarm.
"Ye shall not need to fight,"
There is no need to fear,
"Stand still" and wait upon the Lord,
Whose help is ever near.
"The Lord shall fight for you,"
Just rest, and trust, and wait,
Your enemies He will subdue,
He will not be too late.
What quietness and peace,
This gives unto the heart,
When victory is in His hands,
The fears and doubts depart.
"When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him" (Isaiah 59:19).
"For the Lord your God, He it is that fighteth for you, as He hath promised you" (Joshua 23:10).
