The Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers.
The Lord Jesus Christ was perfect in every sense of the word. He came to His people Israel and they rejected Him in preference for a robber. One of His own disciples (Judas Iscariot) betrayed Him to the Jewish leaders. They in turn gave Him to the Roman authorities and demanded that He be crucified. Israel has still to be judged for betraying and murdering the Son of God. Their day in court is still to come. And they will be found guilty on all counts. Today, as followers of Jesus, we can spend a few minutes remembering His betrayal, His trial, His crucifixion and His death.
