132. The Person of the Christ
S.M.
by F.T. Wigram
The person of the Christ,
Once slain, but now alive again,
In heaven demands our praise.
“For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell.” (Colossians 1:19)
“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3)
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” (Revelation 1:18)
Since we with Him are dead:
Our life is hid with Christ in God,
In Christ the church’s Head.
The heavens are opened now!
Sound it through earth abroad;
And we, by faith, in heaven behold
Jesus the Christ, our Lord.
