The Saviour is gracious,
His love is a well;
His blood is most precious—
Its worth who can tell?
He loved us so truly,
He came from the sky,
That He, the Most Holy,
For sinners might die.
From heaven, His dwelling,
That bright, blessed place,
He sweetly is telling
Us all of His grace.
The love of a mother
And father is great;
The love of a brother
And sister so sweet;
Yet who but the Saviour
For us would have died,
That we, blest forever,
With Him might abide!
In mercy delighting
He speaks from above,
Poor sinners inviting
To trust in His love.
