The Second Message

Their sin is very grievous.  .  .  .  And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom.
The second message was sad news. God was going to destroy Sodom and everything in it because they openly practiced homosexuality. The Lord Himself was going there to investigate for Himself and if what He saw was true, He would destroy them all. Why did the Lord tell Abraham? Because Abraham was His friend, and He trusted him to be a faithful father and leader of his family. I think we see, too, that the Lord was testing Abraham’s compassion. We’ll see that on Monday.
