"The voice of my Beloved!" (Song of Solomon 2:8).
"My Beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away" (Song of Solomon 2:10).
"What is thy beloved more than another beloved?" (Song of Solomon 5:9).
"My Beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand ... .Yea, He is altogether lovely. This is my Beloved, and this is my Friend" (Song of Solomon 5:10, 16).
"My Beloved is mine, and I am His: He feedeth among the lilies" (Song of Solomon 2:16).
"He calleth His own sheep by name, and leadeth them out ... .The sheep follow Him: for they know His voice ... They know not the voice of strangers" (John 10:3-5).
The voice of my Beloved spake,
"Rise up—and come away"—
His voice, with gentleness and love
Entreated me one day.
And "What is thy beloved?" you ask,
Who is He makes this call?
Why, He's the One who made the worlds.
His hand sustaineth all.
Creator of the universe,
The earth, the sky, the sea,
But He is my Redeemer too,
He tasted death for me.
For when He saw us far from God,
He left the throne above,
And came into this world of sin
To show the Father's love.
He bore our sins on Calv'ry's cross,
That we might dwell above;
Creation glory shows His power,
Redemption tells His love.
Oh! this is my Beloved, then,
The Man who died for me,
The altogether lovely One,
Chief of ten thousand, He.
He asks that we remember Him,
Oh! who would not respond?
With love to Him, who first loved us,
And with His own be found.
To sing His praises, bless His Name,
To worship and adore,
To thankfully remember Him,
And praise Him evermore.
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with Me" (Revelation 3:20).
"If a man love Me, He will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:23).
"Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ" (1 John 1:3).
