Listen from:
It is addressed to all with authority from God. Luke 16:31 -Luke 24:44—John 12:48.
The Church was providentially charged with taking care of the Scriptures, but this gives it no authority to teach. 1 Tim. 3:15.
The Prophets who wrote understood not their own prophecies. 1 Peter 1:10/11/12.
It is the only book in the world whose prophecies are unfailingly true. Man cannot tell the future. Isa. 41:21/22/23.
All its principles of truth are the opposite of human philosophy. 1 Cor. 1:19.
It brings together the answer to the truth of Light and Love. Rom. 3:26.
It puts the truth of salvation simple enough for a child—yet contains heights and depths for the meditation and instruction of the most spiritual believer.
It is the only book that the natural man cannot understand. 1 Cor. 2:14.
It teaches a religion of faith—not reason, for reason can never travel beyond the realm of ideas—facts are always the fruit of testimony or experience.
There is nothing in Scripture contrary to reason—yet it does contain what is beyond reason, and must necesarily do so, because it comes from God. Psa. 147:5.
It came not by the will of man. 2 Peter 1:21.
Its language is so full that no man of learning could put its message in words more expressive, and this, though the writer himself were unlearned. Acts 4:13.
There is no attempt to work on the emotions.
No mental picture of Christ or the apostles: except morally.
It is not history—but God takes from the lives of the Patriarchs that which would give us moral instruction, and at the same time prophetic pictures of coming events and future glories.
We have Satan's words, wicked men's words, human accounts of divers facts, RECORDED BY INSPIRATION, but not themselves inspired.
We have the feelings and the failures of the saints recorded, which the voice of God in the Word enables the believer to judge.
Infidelity can puzzle your mind, but NEVER answer your questions. It NEVER made anybody happy.
God measures sin by the holiness of His nature. Rom. 3:23.
He who knew no sin was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Cor. 5:21.
HEAR AND YOUR SOUL SHALL LIVE. Isa. 55:3.
Nothing is needed outside of the Word to receive life, or to walk in godliness. 1 Peter 1:23. 2 Tim. 3:16/17
