Love not the world.
Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
This is yet another world the Christian is involved with, but is not intimate with. This is the corrupt world system, started by Cain, that is opposed to God and Christ. It is also called Babylon. The Christian has been saved out of this world, then sent back into it, but separated from it, to be a witness for Jesus. This world system has many tentacles that cleverly trap people, such as religion, politics, education, music, art, science, sports, wealth, weapons, power and every conceivable natural pleasure. We have to learn in, work in, and live in this system, but we are not to love it or be a friend to it. This world is not to influence or control the Christian. Rather, like Daniel, we should be influencing it, toward God.
