7. Thou Son of God--The Woman's Seed

8,8,6.

Thou Son of God — the woman’s seed

Who didst for us on Calv’ry bleed,

And bear our heavy load;

Spoiler of death’s o’erwhelming power,

O’ercome by Thee in that dread hour;

Thou holy One of God!
“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.” (Galatians 4:4)

Thy blood we sing; by that alone,

With boldness to th’ eternal throne,

Through Thee we now draw nigh;

It blots out every stain of sin,

Washes the guilty conscience clean,

And makes th’ accuser fly.
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” (Isaiah 43:25)
“Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.” (Isaiah 44:2)
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14)
“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” (Revelation 12:10)
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

Behold us, Lord! a feeble band,

In conflict with the foe we stand,

The ransomed of Thy cross;

We sing the triumphs of Thy name;

All other glory here is shame,

All other gain’s but loss.
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32)
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8)
