Time! It seems to be a precious commodity these days. Do you ever have enough time? We all wonder where time goes and why there isn't more of it. It is amazing, with all the modern, push button conveniences that we enjoy in this modern era, that there isn't more time.
But one thing is for sure, we need, amidst all the hustle and bustle of life to schedule time for the Lord. How much time have you spent with Jesus today? Time spent with Him will have eternal benefit. Discipline yourself to take time for the One who loved you enough to take time to die for you on the cross, and the One who always has plenty of time for each of His own. When you see the Lord Jesus in glory what excuse will you give Him for not having spent more time with Him? He has time for you! Do you have time for Him?
I hurried through a prayer today, And read a verse or two; I thought I'd done my duty, And it would see me through. All day I struggled, nothing worked, No matter what I'd do; I knew it was because I had, My Lord, neglected You.
I had no power to confess, Thy name to those I met; I had no joy, I was ashamed, And worry made me fret. Lord, teach me then to start my day, In company with Thee; To find the time to read and pray... A healthy Christian be.
Do you spend time alone with Jesus everyday? I don't mean just once a week or when you feel you have some spare moments...but every single day! How sad when a believer does not have time to spend in the presence of the One who loves them and desires their company, and who wants to be their friend, to support, guide, comfort, and help. Think back over this past day or past week. How much time have you really spent with Jesus? When we do not spend time with Him, not only do we rob ourselves of the joy of communion, but we rob Him of His portion too. He craves our company, and how sad His heart must be when we do not give it to Him. There is a mutual joy when we spend time with our Lord Jesus Christ. His joy and ours!
"It is time to seek the Lord." Hosea 10:12
"In Thy presence is fullness of joy." Psalm 16:11
I spent a Quiet moment,
From my daily haste and tare,
And, oh the sweet communion,
My Lord and I did share.
I spent a Quiet moment,
Alone, just He and I,
And found the joy of fellowship,
With Jesus, very nigh.
