The Entrance of Sin
Gospel—R. Rule

Shall we commence our meeting by singing together?
Hymn #25.
Life at best is very brief, like the falling of a leaf, like the binding of a sheaf.
Be in time, fleeting days.
Are telling fast that the die will soon be cast and the fatal line be passed.
Be in time #25.
Life at best, is very brief, like the falling of the way.
Morning All the shaping and high.
Cleaning days are going for the joy of also Bethel and the faith of the faithful life.
And then you'll longer wait.
So they find all the years and your God he dropped away the empire.
There are flower stones.
You'll find the other day passed away.
Oh, you'll have. I want to say good night.
Good night.
I.
AM.
Thank you on your way to your place. I am the Lord of the jewels.
And the heart is up to a.
Bhai.
I miss my distress way behind Sanjay Dutt, Volkswagen Night.
To destroy Jesus life.
He and I.
So I don't know how to do it.
00:05:02
From Aliens.
When a number of souls are gathered together like this.
And the opportunity is granted 1.
To tell forth the gospel.
It should indeed be a solemn occasion.
It's indeed a responsibility for the one that stands here before you.
And seeks to give out the message with the Lord's help.
And it's quite a responsibility, dear friend, to you too.
We're not going to be talking about trifling matters tonight. We're not going to be talking about trivial things.
We're going to be talking about the important question of your soul.
I had before me turning to the third chapter of Genesis tonight. That's very near the beginning of the word of God.
In the first chapter of Genesis.
We have God as a creator God. In the beginning. God created the heavens and the earth.
Is the way this book that we have opens.
In that first chapter we find man being brought into this scene.
In the second chapter it says that God breathed into Adam the breath of life and he became a living soul.
Our purpose tonight is to speak to you, dear friend, about your soul. You have a living soul.
An immortal soul.
And there's no question in this life is important.
As to that which concerns your soul.
Where are you going to spend eternity?
Have you ever resolved that question in the presence of God?
And according to the Word of God.
You have to spend eternity somewhere.
I asked a brother where a scripture was as we left the prayer meeting 1/2 an hour or so ago.
The Scripture.
It had slipped my mind. The location of it happens to be in the 25th of Matthew.
But in that scripture, in that chapter, it speaks of those that will go.
To a place spoken of as being cast into everlasting fire.
A place that was prepared for the devil and his angels.
We're going to read about the devil tonight and he's seeking companions.
He'd like to have you in that place of everlasting fire as one of his companions.
It was prepared for the devil and his angels, but because man sinned and because sin came in.
The word of God tells us that that will be the final destiny.
Of those that die without Christ. Oh dear friend, do you have Christ tonight? Is he your savior? If not, may he be before you walk out the door?
Because it's a solemn thing.
00:10:00
To trifle with the question of one's immortal soul.
This little hymn that we sang.
Encouraged us to be in time.
It said life is very brief, like the falling of a leaf.
Like the binding of a sheath doesn't take long for a leaf to fall.
And when I was a boy, I often worked in harvesting and saw many sheaves a week bound by a thrashing machine. And that didn't take very long either.
Sitting beside me this afternoon.
Was a young man, young lady, and I saw him hand her.
A little poem. I had been given one.
Must have been a year or so ago and I slipped it into my pocket. It just happened to still be in my pocket.
I'm going to read half of it. It's entitled Life's Clock.
The clock of life is wound, but once.
And no man has the power to tell just where the hands will stop.
At late or early hour to lose one's health.
Or pardon me, to lose one's wealth is sad indeed.
To lose one's health is more.
To lose one's soul is such a loss as no man can restore.
It's that soul of yours we want to speak to you about tonight, dear friend. The word of God says, watch a look profit a man if he gained the whole world and lose his own soul. Consider that that gives us a little idea of the value of your immortal soul, as God estimates it. And remember.
The clock of time.
You don't know when it's going to stop in your life.
And so I would encourage you to earnestly consider what we seek to bring before you from the word of God tonight.
And I would earnestly encourage you to trust in the Savior that we want to bring before you.
The Lord Jesus Christ Shall we turn to the third chapter of Genesis.
Now the serpent.
Was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman.
Yeah, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent.
We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and the tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, gave also unto her husband with her, and he did he.
And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sowed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.
And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord amongst the trees of the garden.
The Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked. And I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou was naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree? Whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldst not eat? And the man said, the woman who now gave us to be with me. She gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done?
And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the serpent, because thou hast done this.
Thou art cursed above all cattle and above every beast of the field. Upon my belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed, it shall bruise thy head. Thou shalt bruise his heel unto the woman, he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception. In sorrow shalt thou bring forth children, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
00:15:24
Now to Adam, he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and us eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it.
Cursed is the ground for thy sake and sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.
Thorns also and thistles shall bring forth to thee, and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.
In the sweat of thy brow shalt thou eat thy bread, till thou return unto the ground, for out of it whatst thou taken?
For dost thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return? And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also, and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothe them. And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us to know good and evil. And now lest he put forth his hand, and take all through the tree of life, and eat and live forever.
Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the Garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
So he drove out the man, and he placed at the East End of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the tree of life.
While this is an interesting chapter.
But it's a sad story.
Because it brings before us.
A man's fall, the fall of man was mentioned.
In our reading meeting this afternoon, if I remember correctly.
We find it opening by referring to a serpent that was more subtle than any of the beasts of the field.
If we didn't have anything else as to this serpent, we might be very much in doubt as to who is referred to here.
But just as this is the third chapter from the beginning of the book, if we were to turn, and I'm going to ask you not to take the time tonight, if we were to turn to the third chapter from the end of the book, we'd find in detail who it is.
Says there it speaks about.
The.
The dragon. That old serpent.
Which is called the devil and Satan. And so the same person is given four names there, The dragon, the serpent, the old serpent. Because there we have what takes place about 6000 years after the What's recorded here in Genesis 3?
And then we have the devil and Satan referred to all the same persons.
I think that there's a different.
Thought in prominence where you have a different name. For example, Satan would speak of adversary, perhaps, where it's the dragon, its cruelty.
But we find here in our chapter as to the Serpent, it's his subtlety, his guile.
Friend this serpent here.
Is the enemy of your soul.
I wonder if you ever realized that you had one who is the enemy of your soul.
You still have to do with him, just as the Adam and Eve did here.
It says he was more subtle than any of the beasts of the field.
Yes, there's a wily foe. And as I said earlier, if he has his way, he will have you as his companion.
In eternity.
In that place of outer darkness.
And I want with the Lord's help.
To seek to warn you faithfully.
Of what a serious thing it is to listen to the serpent to be beguiled.
By that subtle one, lots of people today are listening to his.
Words, his subtlety and those that.
00:20:03
Are are going to wind up. They're on the downward Rd. that leads to destruction.
And you're no match for Satan. Adam and Eve were no match for him, and there's never been one person in this scene. There was any match for Satan.
Except the Lord Jesus Christ.
If we were to turn to the gospel, we'd find how he was one who overcame the wicked one.
We'd find in Luke's gospel how the Lord was tested.
And I may we may comment on it that little further as we get down in our chapter. But I tell you, you're no match for this one we're speaking about. And if he has his way, he'll take you down with him into that place that I hope you never go. You know, there are two destinies that we read of in this book, Heaven.
Thank God that many, I believe the majority in this room are headed for heaven for glory to be with the Lord Jesus. I hope you're in that number.
But this book also tells of another place it starts. The 1St letter is the same. It's only a four letter word. You know what it is, don't you hell?
Ah, friend, I hope that I hope you're not headed there, but you're headed One Direction or the other at this moment.
And Ohio, if you're headed on the downward Rd. May God turn you about tonight. May He give you to feel your need of a savior.
And that you might be among that number that's on the road to glory, to be with that savior.
In that bright and blessed scene where sin can never come.
Well.
We find this subtle one, the serpent.
He approaches the woman and said, Yeah, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
His very first words are just like the serpent half God said. He's been saying that ever since hath God said.
Well, the woman said, The tree we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Had said, Ye shall not eat of it, but if we were to turn over to the second chapter.
And the 5th and the.
16th verse It says, the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest eat freely, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Thou shalt not eat of it, for in the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Doesn't say anything there about not touching it. It's so easy to add the scripture.
Or take away from scripture. It's important that we avoid.
Doing either one, but just quietly take what God had said the moment that woman listened to the serpent.
The next thing she did was add to the word of God. Oh, if we get our ears opened.
And listen, in any measure to him, we're very apartment to get away.
From the simplicity of the Word of God.
Well, in the next verse it says, the serpent said unto the woman.
Ye shall not surely die, God had said. In the days thou eatest throughout, thou shalt surely die, Or the margin says, dying, thou shalt die.
The serpent says, Thou shalt not surely die.
Ah, that brings us another truth as to the serpent, as to Satan.
We won't take the time to turn to it, but in the 8th chapter of John, I believe it's the 44th verse. We find two things told us about the serpent.
First, he's a murderer from the beginning. And the other thing is, he's a liar.
And here comes that was the lie of the devil, Ye shall not surely die.
The woman was listening to a liar.
And she heard a lie from his lips.
I believe, I don't believe anybody in this room.
If Satan were to say to you, if you are unsaved, thou shalt not surely die, you wouldn't believe him. You'd know it's a lie.
But he doesn't limit himself to one lie. I can tell you a lie.
That he's propagating today to men all through this world.
And maybe you're one of those that have been taken in by it. You know another lie very similar to Thou shalt not die.
He knows you wouldn't believe that today. You have too much witness, too much evidence of the fact.
00:25:02
The lie that Satan is pushing forward today as well, death ends at all.
Friend, it doesn't end at all.
Satan is just as much a liar when he says death ends at all as he was when he said to the woman.
Thou shalt not surely die.
Have you faced up to the fact that death doesn't end at all? Do you know what the Word of God says? It is appointed unto men once to die.
What follows and after death the judgment.
That's pretty solemn, isn't it? After death of judgment?
I don't think I'll ever forget what happened in my life some 2528 years ago.
I was near Mount Pocono, PA, and I talked to a young man about my old age, about his soul.
And as I got to talking to him, he opened up a little bit and told me a little of his life story.
And he said, you know, a few years ago, not long ago, my health was very poor.
And I got discouraged. I thought I'd end it all.
He said I went up.
To the top of the highest building in Newark, NJ, where he lived.
I think, he said. It was about 14 stories high and I knew my way around. I was able to get up on the very top of the building.
He said. I walked to the edge of that building.
And I looked down.
I was just about ready to leap off. But he said, you know, I never made the jump. I said, why not?
Oh, he said. I'll tell you, as far as this life goes, I wanted to end it all.
And I wasn't afraid to die.
But I was afraid of what followed death.
I was afraid of what followed death.
Oh, thank God he was afraid.
Are you afraid of what follows death?
If you are without the savior, you well may be my dear friend.
Word of God says after death the judgment.
Well, he said. I was afraid to jump. I was afraid of what followed death. And he came on down.
Well, I was thankful to have the opportunity to tell him of a savior.
You know.
Friend if that was the.
Summation of my story As far as I got, I wouldn't have. I wouldn't be able to be up here talking to you.
But thank God, thank God. It isn't the end of the story of God's grace. You know the next two words in that verse in Hebrews that I've been quoting to you. It is appointed unto men once to die, but after death, the judgment, you know the next two words. So Christ bring Christ in and everything changes. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many.
Oh, what a change it makes when you bring Christ in.
I was asked to take a funeral on Monday afternoon of this week and I mentioned in talking to those that were in the funeral parlor looking at the.
The one that had been taken in death, there she was, laying in that coffin.
And I sought to speak faithfully of death and judgment. And I said, you know, friends, if the story stopped there, it would be a story of defeat.
Oh, but thank God, dear friends, the story that we get in this book, it isn't one when you bring Christ in. It's not a story of defeat. It's the story of victory.
I mentioned the fact that while many had been laid in their tombs, and many great men and mighty men.
That there was 1 tomb today, That's an empty tomb. Thank God, an empty tomb.
That blessed one, the Lord Jesus Christ, Yes.
He spent a little season in that place that was prepared, the tomb prepared by Joseph of Arimathea, the rich man.
He was in the tomb, but today his is an empty tube.
00:30:04
There is a savior on high in the glory, a living, loving Savior.
One that died for you, One that died for me.
Have you ever opened your heart to receive Him as your savior?
Well.
I would bring before you again, dear friend.
The pointed unto men wants to die, and after death the judgment.
Oh, make sure that that isn't the end as far as you're concerned.
Make sure that you know the savior that died, that you might live.
Well, here in our chapter.
The servant tells a lie on the 4th verse.
And he infers one in the fifth verse. God does know that in the day that she eats thereof, then your eyes shall be opened.
Ye shall be as God's knowing, good and evil.
The inference that he makes there, and a pretty plain inference, is this.
I'll tell you why God told you not to eat of the Tree of Life. He knew if you did, you'd profit by it.
You will be as more like him, have a knowledge of good and evil.
And he doesn't want you to have the best portion. He's holding out on you a little bit.
He doesn't really love you. He doesn't want you to be his gods, knowing good and evil.
Could we say this? He in effect challenged the goodness and the love of God.
But oh, I'm thankful to be able to tell you this afternoon, dear friend, that God has answered that challenge.
He answered it at Calvary's cross.
God wasn't holding anything back on Adam and Eve, and he's holding nothing back on you.
He's given the greatest gift.
That was ever given. John 316 says that for God so loved the world.
That he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish.
But have everlasting life there is God's gift, dear friend. There never was a gift like that.
God so loved the world that he gave. What did he give his only begotten son?
That whosoever believeth on him should not perish does the word of God say after death the judgment. It does indeed, but that verse in John 316 says that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Ah, that isn't death. It's life. Eternal life.
Our brother brought before us last night that those words, those four precious words in John. First John, God is love. And it was a Calvary that God proved his love. I often think, you know, it's been said that in Genesis we have the seed plot of the Bible and we have a little picture, I believe, of the love of God right in this book in Genesis in types.
In the 22nd of Genesis. That won't take long to turn to, so let's turn to that Genesis 22.
It came to pass after these things that God did to tempt Abraham.
And he said unto him, Abraham he said, Behold, here I am.
And he said, Take now thy son.
Thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest.
And get thee into the land of Moriah, and offering therefore a burnt offering upon one of the mountains, which I will tell you of.
Oh my, what a test that must have been for that father's heart. There are some mothers and fathers here.
You can enter in a measure of what that would have been for Abraham. Take now thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest. I believe that's the first place in the word of God where you have reference to love.
Abraham, I think, speaks to us of God the Father. The time was coming when he had to take his son, his only son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
And send him down here. Offer him up.
It says in verse in verse.
00:35:02
Nine they came to the place that God had told him of, and Abraham built an altar there.
And laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him upon the altar.
Upon the wood, and Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
Can you imagine what was going on in the heart of Abraham at that moment? His son bound on the altar, the knife in hand, and he expected to use that knife. Thank God there was a voice at that moment.
Says the Angel, Lord called him out of heaven, And said, Abraham, Abraham, he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do I anything unto him.
For now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and behold, or rather, and looked and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns.
And Abraham went and offered, and went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.
Oh, how wonderful, he was spared using that knife. But you know, dear friend.
When the moment came for God to offer up his Son.
And we have that anticipated in this chapter 2 because it says.
In verse 7, the middle of verse.
Or rather, the first of the verse Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and he said, Father.
My father and he said here my my son, And he said, behold the fire in the woods. But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
Remarkable Abraham's answer, Abraham said. My son, God shall provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering.
Oh dear friend, that's exactly what God has done. He's provided himself a lamb for burnt offering. It was his own son.
When John the Baptist saw him coming one day, he said.
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Yes, the Lord Jesus was God's lamb, the perfect sinless victim. And God so loved you and me, that he sent that blessed One down from Glory's highest height, the one who was ever the darling of his bosom. And he sent him to Calvary's cross.
A lamb for a bird offering and also a sin offering.
Although the higher aspect is mentioned here, yes.
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.
Oh dear friend, that blessed one we are Speaking of, he died for you.
And if you spend eternity with the devil and his angels.
It's because you haven't opened your heart to receive that blessed Savior that died for you, that you might live.
Our brother brought me forth last night the importance how we needed a substitute.
And thank God the Lord Jesus Christ is the Sinner substitute, the one who took his place.
Who went down into death in order that the Sinner might have his sins forgiven.
And might enter into life, life eternal. Well, going back to our chapter on the 3rd of Genesis.
As we mentioned in verse 5.
Satan, the serpent, inferred that God was holding something back.
But always I've already sought to bring out. God has given.
That which was nearest and dearest to his heart, the greatest gift that's ever been given. What have you done with his gift to you, my friend?
What have you done with the Lord Jesus? Have you opened your heart to receive that blessed one?
Oh, if if the serpent here challenged the love of God, thank God. As we said, God has answered that challenge in the gift of his own son.
Well, it says in verse 6, when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes and the tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit there oven to eat and gave also under her husband he to eat.
Rather interesting here, the similarity as to what brought before us in connection with a woman. There are three things.
She saw it was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and something a tree desired to make one wise.
00:40:03
Well, we had before someone quoted it today in the Reading meetings, adverse in the First Epistle of John, where it tells us all of us in the world, all of us of the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but it's of the world. Well, we find the first instance, I believe, of those three things right here, lust of the flesh, that which was good for food.
And then it says.
That it was.
Pleasant to the eyes, little lust of the eyes in evidence, and then something that would make one wise who's speaking to us of the pride of our hearts, the pride of life. Well, it says that she.
Took of the fruit thereof, she was disobedient.
And says she gave unto her husband.
With her and heated east now because the man is looked at as the head.
In Romans 5 we have just the man brought before us, it says as by one man sin entered into the world.
Here's where it answered. Right here, as by one man, sin entered into the world.
And death by sin. So death passed upon all men for that all of sinned.
Yes, that's where death entered into the world through sin, and it was by one man, and we have that recorded right here in our chapter.
Well, what was the result? The eyes of both of them were open, and they knew that they were naked.
Yes, I believe that when Adam and Eve sinned, I believe the.
They had a conscience.
The serpent had said.
That in the day thou eat thereof ye shall be as God's knowing good and evil.
He didn't tell them that you won't have any power to do good and that you will have no power to avoid.
Refrain or is too evil? Oh no, he didn't tell him that.
He didn't tell him the results either. He lied about the results.
It says their eyes were opened. They knew that they were naked.
Now, where you have reference to being naked in the word of God, often it's a figure of being naked in a spiritual sense. For example, in the third chapter of Revelation. I'm going to ask you to save time, not to turn to it, but I will. I'll just hurriedly refer to a clause or two. There we find the church at Laodicea. God says to them.
Thou knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind and naked.
He's not speaking in a physical sense, but morally, spiritually.
He says, I counsel thee to buy, and one of the things that he says is costly, to buy white raiment, that thou mightest be clothed.
White speaks of purity. White raiment would be that raiment that which would.
Fit one for God's presence.
Well, it says they knew that they were naked.
And they sold pig leaves together and made themselves aprons.
Those fig leaves, when they were done, were the result of their own doing, their own hands and friend. This book makes it very clear that you can't fit yourself for God's presence by your own works.
The word of God says in the book of Isaiah says all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.
God couldn't have you in His presence in filthy rags. All our righteousnesses, the best that the natural man can produce for God, all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. In that chapter it says I am become as an unclean thing.
Ah, dear friend.
Don't try to fit yourselves for God's presence.
If you acknowledge that you're a Sinner.
Don't think by turning over a new leaf and doing the best you can that that will fit you for the presence of God. It won't.
What happened? They made these fig leaves, as we said, the production of their own hands, something they worked out for themselves.
Says they heard the voice, verse 8. The voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord amongst the trees of the garden.
00:45:02
The 10th verse tells us why they hid themselves.
In the 10th verse we fight Adam saying I heard thy voice in the garden. I was afraid.
Because I was naked and I hid myself. Didn't he have the fig leaves?
Ah, as we said, that's the work of his own hand. Those fig leaves meant nothing.
Far as God is concerned, you can't dress yourself up for God's presence.
And they realized that when they got into His presence, when the Lord came down the cool of the day, we find them hiding among the trees of the garden.
They were afraid. Oh, you know, it's a wonderful thing when you find a soul that gets afraid.
I wish you were afraid tonight, my friend. I wish you had that feeling in your heart. Oh, I'm afraid to die. I'm afraid to meet God. I'm not prepared to meet him. How thankful we would be if your conscience might be stirred up to own. Yes, I'm a Sinner lost and undone. And I'm afraid because you know when when the first step in blessing is for one to feel their need. To feel our need. And where you find a soul that feels is need.
Oh, how quickly the Lord is ready to step in and bring before that one.
That savior who can meet that need? Well, they said. I was afraid.
And hid themselves.
And at that, right at that juncture, when the Lord God called unto Adam, notice those words in the ninth verse. A very important question, only three words.
He said. Where? Ourselves?
It speaks of Adam's condition, his position. Before God, a distance had come in. He was hiding. Now a distance. Sin brings the distance between man and God. In the New Testament, we have another thought added to distance, the Lord told Speaking of Trees. It makes me think of one who climbed the tree, a seeking soul.
In the 19th of Luke we read about him Zacchaeus.
The Lord told him the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which is lost.
Now what does that word lost, add to what we've been Speaking of as to their sin? Bringing in a distance. Man is not only the distance from God because of his sin, but he can't find his own way back. He's lost.
But just as Adam, just as God, came down into that garden, we find God seeking now.
Calling to Adam, Adam, where I fell. Oh, dear friend, I'm thankful to be able to tell you if you have any sense that you're lost, that you're naked as it were before God speaking morally, I'm thankful to be able to tell you that the Lord Jesus is seeking you tonight. We were reminded that this afternoon of that lovely verse, our brother quoted it from Matthew 11. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Are you laboring in any measure under the burden of your sin and guilt?
I said earlier, I hope you have a sense of your lost condition, a sense that you're a Sinner, that you're undone, that you need a savior. Well, if you have any sense of that in your soul, dear friend, if you'll own your need. The Lord Jesus says you come to me, come unto me, all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. We mentioned Zacchaeus.
You know, once in a while or every at times, we find souls. They're brought to feel their need, and then they become seeking souls.
Zacchaeus was a short man and in that chapter we find there was a great throng around the Lord Jesus.
And Zacchaeus says he sought to see Jesus who he was.
But because he was so short of stature, he knew he couldn't see him in the crowd.
And he climbed a tree. Here we have. I had him among the trees, hiding.
All I'd like to see you like Zacchaeus. He was up in the tree seeking.
Are you a seeking soul tonight, friend?
If you are I like to think, in that chapter we find 2 seekers. Zacchaeus was seeking to see Jesus. Ah, but Jesus was seeking Zacchaeus and when he came along he looked up and he called him down. I don't have time to finish the story, but those two seeking ones, the seeking soul and the seeking Savior, they got together and Zacchaeus learned what it was to be saved.
00:50:13
The Lord told him, This day is salvation. Come to thy house, friend, Would you like to be saved?
Thank God, that same one that saved Zacchaeus, the same one that saved my soul, the same one that saved the souls of many in this room tonight. He'll save your soul. If you'll just own your need and come to him as a savior. Will you receive that blessed one?
I ask you, before God answer that question that was put to Adam, Adam, God said to him, Where art thou?
Where are you, friends? Are you on the way?
To hell.
If you are, you better acknowledge it before God.
Make a turnabout tonight.
Where art thou? Where are you, dear friend?
Answer that presence will you Further on in this chapter we have God asking another question.
He said to the woman, What is this that thou hast done? What have you done?
Old friend, what have you done?
Our brother mentioned last night that this one sin of disobedience here.
Would shut a soul out of heaven.
One sin kept Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, and one sin would keep your soul out of heaven.
Without a savior, what have you done? Would you like it if we had a white?
Black If we had a blackboard here and some white chalk, would you like to have everything you've done written up on that blackboard? I certainly wouldn't. And you wouldn't either, friend. You know you're a Sinner. You know you've sinned.
Even the thought of foolishness is sin. The word of God says, Oh friend, you need a savior.
You need a savior.
But thank God he's provided a savior.
Yes. Don't forget those questions. Where art thou? What hast thou done?
You're at a distance from God if you're not saved, and you've sinned against God. And God cannot have sin in his presence.
And so you need a savior.
Well, I can't take time as the prize to see how the time has been going by will.
Will have to.
Skip over a few of these verses and comment very briefly.
But.
We find here that God spoke.
To the man? And asked him, Hast thou eaten of the tree? Where have I commanded thee, that thou shouldst not eat? And the man Said the woman whom thou gave us to be with me?
She gave me the tree and I did eat. Oh yes, Adam would pass it off, more or less. Make it partly God's fault.
The woman that you gave me, she gave me the tree and I did eat halfway, put it up. Blame on to God. You'll find lots of people today who will put the blame on God of their being a Sinner. They say why did God make man that way? And other similar questions that in effect are just tossing the blame onto God. Friend, that won't do any good When the time comes you stand before the Great White Throne. No, it'll be that kind of an approach will do no good. Let's be honest. Let's face up to our guilt, our sin and guilt.
And take advantage of the Savior that God has provided.
We brought thought to bring before you about how Adam and Eve it says they hid themselves.
You can't hide from God.
We do find in Revelation 6 where many triaths because they have some sense of the seriousness of having to do with God in the 6th of Revelation. I'm just going to read about one verse there speaking about hiding.
It says there at the end of that that the kings of the earth, the great men and the rich men, the chief captains, the mighty men, and every bond men, and every freeman.
Hid themselves in the dens and the rocks of the mountains. Why?
They said under the mountains and rocks fall on us and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.
For great is the day of his wrath, And who shall be able to stand?
Oh, now they realize something of the solemnity of the day of wrath.
00:55:01
And they call on the rocks and the mountains to flow on them and to hide them from the wrath of the Lamb.
Actually, they were mistaken. This wasn't the day of his wrath yet, but they thought it was.
And it brings before us the solemnity of recognizing, of having to do with God in the day of his wrath.
But you know, dear friends, the mountains and rocks and nothing else could ever hide you from a holy God.
In the 20th chapter of this Book of Revelation, I'll tell you what it says. It tells there of a great white throne.
It says that I saw the dead, small and great stand before God.
And it says the books were opened. Yes, God has his records.
You know it's all about you. Every act of your life is recorded. The books were opened and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things were written in the books according to their works. It says in that portion in Revelation that the dead, small and great, stood before God. And it says that heaven and earth.
Let's see, I want to read it right. It says.
The earth and the heaven fled away.
If earth in heaven had fallen away, fled away, they couldn't hide under the rocks and the dens of the earth. Friend, you can't get away from God. You have to meet God here. It's Speaking of those who aren't ready. It says that whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Oh, dear friend.
Is your name in the Lamb's book of life?
Mine is.
As I said, many that are here have their name in the Lambs book of life. But how about you? It's so important.
Well, you won't be able to hide in that day. You'll have to stand before that great white throne.
And to hear judgment pronounced and be cast into that place of outer darkness.
The devil and his angels or the devil is already there. We read about that in an earlier chapter of Revelation, old friend, I warned him.
Be earnest about these things. Face up to the reality that death is before you, and if you're without Christ, the judgment is ahead. I plead with you out of love to your soul. Turn to that blessed savior tonight and receive him as your savior, that you might have your name written in the Lamb's book of life.
In this chapter, our time is practically up now, so I just want to say this.
In this chapter, the 15th verse that speaks of putting enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the woman seed.
He had no earthly father. He was born of the Virgin Mary, conceived of the Holy Ghost. He was indeed the woman's seed. And it says here the woman's seed. It shall bruise thy head. Thank God that's true. It shall bruise thy head. The woman's seed. Jesus Christ. We saw, we were reminded, our reading meeting this afternoon, that the head is the place of one's thought. Satan had his thoughts. He had his plans.
He was going to take man, all of them, down into death from judgment with himself.
Oh, but the Lord was the one who could alone who could interrupt his plans.
And by going into death, he died that he might have a redeemed company in glory.
Yes, he's the one who was bruised the serpent's head. He's the one who has triumphed over him.
It was at the cross that the Lord triumphed by weakness and defeat. We sometimes think he won the median crown.
Trot all his foes, and Satan was the greatest of his foes. Trot all his foes beneath his feet by being trodden down.
And now we can sing his be the victor's name who fought the fight alone.
Yes, he's a victor. So he said. He's a risen, living savior. We commend him to you tonight, dear friend. Will you have the Lord Jesus?
As your savior.
Well, I have to skip.
What God says is to the curses for lack of time, but I'll go down. I want to bring just two verses in closing here.
It says. It says that unto Adam also unto his wife, did the Lord God make coats of skin and clothe them. They tried to clothe themselves with fig leaves. And when God in the presence of God, they hid and said they knew that they were naked. But here God clothed them. What did he clothe them with? It says coats of skin. Why coats of skin? Well, you know, before you can make a coat out of the animal skins, you have to kill the animals. Death has to come in.
01:00:12
And I believe the picture here is bringing before us the fact that before man could be clothed in garments of salvation. We read about them in Isaiah 2.
61St chapter verse 10 I believe speaks of garments of salvation.
Oh God can clothe the Sinner in garments of salvation now.
Because death his own son died on Calvary's cross to put away our sins.
The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanseth us from all sin, the Word of God says.
And so now God can clothe a Sinner in garments of salvation.
Do you have on that kind of a garment, dear friend?
Someone mentioned in our prayer meeting before the Gospel about the prodigal Son and his return to the Father.
And you know, when that Father, when he said, Father, I have sinned against thee and against heaven, and have no more words than to be called thy son.
Why it says we find following that how the Father he fell on his neck and he had kissed him, and he told his servants to bring the best robe and put it on him the best robe. Our dear friend God, friend God wants you to be clothed in the best robe. He wants you to have Christ as your righteousness.
And if you trusted the Lord Jesus tonight, you will have him.
As covering as you'll be clothed in garments of salvation, you'll have on the best Rd.
The best that the father can prepare.

First prayer this afternoon or for this meeting about the open heaven. Perhaps the Lord would have us consider a little.
4 occasions when heaven was opened.
Brother mentioned in his prayer the first occasion went Heaven was opened, and the third chapter of Matthew.
13 verse.
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and promise thou for me. Jesus answering, said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus becometh us.
Who fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered it.
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water, and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him, and lower voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son.
And whom I am well pleased.
When we think, beloved of mine, sad history, where he had sought in every way to shut out God from his thoughts and from His ways.
To just like heaven had become brass over mine's head. And now.
I believe that I'm correct in saying that for the first time, we have heaven.
Open to her Father. Blessed occasion this surely brings before us when God blesses Son.
Comes to the waters of Jordan be baptized John the Baptist.
No, there is much concerning the life of our blessed Lord that curiosity would like to cry into, and some have invented stories to fill in the gap.
And the Lords early life down here.
But God hasn't been pleased to tell us about the Lord's life as he grew up there in Nazareth. We know about the time that he went to Jerusalem when he was at the age of 12 years.
And then he returned with Mary and Joseph and was subject to them. But now he comes out when there has been a work of God's Spirit in working repents in the hearts of the people of Israel.
And you know whenever there is no worth of repentance in the heart of man, that God is always delighted in seeing that work. Indeed, we read in the 15th chapter of Luke these words. There's joy.
In the presence of the angels of God, over one Sinner, that repatha. And so we find that all in the land of Judea had come to be baptized as John and Jordan, confessing their sins.
What a remarkable sight, surely to see a nation move to repentance All the lava would deserve that there was more of our pretend seen in these days.
Well, that's the occasion when God the Father opens heaven, and as to in view of that blessed One.
And we learn from these words uttered by the voice of the Father, how perfect that life so hidden from man was to the heart of his Father above. And that's all we need to know, beloved, of that life where he labored as a Carpenter known as the carpenter's son.
00:05:02
In the village.
Where there was poverty, where they were those so that were despised, being one said when?
Told about this man and any good thing come out of Nashville, God the Father was looking down at the perfect light of a perfect man, and now when he sees his beloved son identify himself.
Without repentance, God can withhold nor longer hell delight. So we hear his voice from that open heaven, as he says, This is my beloved Son, and the better translation of those words are these in whom I have found.
All my delight.
Wasn't as marvelous to think after all, man's history of failures, every man has come short of the glory of God, that there came a time when God could see a perfect man in this world below, and doubtless the reason why the Father.
Would.
Speak of his son in this way.
Because one might think, well, if the Lord was baptized, when John was baptizing, with the baptism of repentance, here was a God's.
Son below, and yet he needed to repent himself.
Oh, God will never permit, He will never allow, anything that will bring the slightest of dishonor or discredit upon that Blessed One. And so the Father declares that here is one in whom is He is found all his delight.
And how marvelous, beloved, that the object of heaven.
Is down here in this seat, in this world.
Here was a man here on earth that all heaven was occupied with. The object of heaven is down here.
I believe the brother in his prayer also mentioned about Steven.
And the in the book of Acts the the 6th chapter.
For the 7th chapter, 7th of Acts, and the 54th verse. And when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart. They night on him with their teeth, but he being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven.
Saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God and said, behold I see the heavens opened and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
And they cried out with a loud voice to stop their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, cast him out of the city, and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Steven, calling upon God and saying, Lord Jesus received my spirit.
And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice.
Lord lay not this sin to their charge. When he had said this, he fell asleep.
Now we have heaven opened again.
But all the lovers of heaven is not in this poor world. They haven't. The object of heaven is up there in glory. What a story it tells of this world. Rejection of that One who came in infinite love in this poor world.
What about doing good and healing all that were possessed of the devil? For God was with him, blessing mine wherever he went. He had all the gratitude, or the rather the ingratitude that this world shows showed that Blessed One.
00:10:04
Was to crown him with thorns, and spit in his face, and nail into the cross. God has taken that blessed One out of this scene of His suffering and rejection, and seated him, and crowned him with glory on high at His own right hand, The love of the object.
Of God's affection is no longer here below.
But it's up there where Christ has taken the crown, where his feet is now, and glory above. And now he has sent down God the Holy Spirit to gather out of pride for thy coming glory.
Where our forerunner has gone before.
Oh, beloved me, our souls enter into the preciousness of the work of the Spirit, preparing us to share the glory of that rejected.
Will exalted man.
Who is now the object of all heaven? And marvelous fact, beloved, that a man is in the glory of God. Now we see a perfect man below.
Here the object of God the Father. Looking down now, we see that same glorified man up there, and the love of the Spirit of God in wondrous grace.
Has won your heart and my heart through that blessed One, so that we have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior. We found that which have given us peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We know that through His work at Calvary.
Our sins, our many sins, are all forgiven.
That there is nothing between US and that Blessed One that can hinder us from enjoying His love.
Say as far, I mean as far as the that which fits us for glory is concerned.
Of course there is another matter, and that is of allowing anything in our lives that breaks our communion and enjoyment of His presence as we go on.
With that glory before our souls. So let's be watchful.
That we do not allow anything to go on unjust. That injuries our enjoyment.
Of His blessed presence, the thorough often been said and can be often repeated. Keep short of counts. Result. That is when we fail, because we all fail to love it, just as James tells us that in many things we all offend.
That's never set ourselves up to be better than our brother because we're all for failing creatures.
And we make lots of mistakes. But beloved, it isn't the fact that we make mistakes that gets us on the wrong course, that leads to such sorrow and distress and perhaps defiles others too.
Yes, the unwillingness to judge ourselves when we have failed. Let's always be willing to get down before the Lord and have a tender conscience to allow nothing to go on that is dishonoring to Him that lets us judge. You know the lover that the only way that our blessed Lord could wash.
The fate of the disciples that at the at the feast of the Passover was by getting down in the lowest way that he could get down before his disciple laid aside his garments.
Then he washed the disciples feet, unless they remember the love of that. The only way that you and I can be restored when out of communion is a humiliation of that Blessed One. Indeed it cost him.
00:15:19
That humiliation, that going to the cross, that suffering, the untold judgment of God.
To fit us for the presence of and make us His children. And it takes His humiliation to restore us and to cleanse us so we can go on in the enjoyment of His friends.
We find in Stephen a man full of the Holy Ghost.
And, beloved, what is it that in and has transpired when one is full of the Holy Spirit?
It certainly isn't self occupation for self occupation only.
Turns our hearts away from.
That one that the father is occupied with.
Ohio. It's full occupation with Christ.
And I say again, may we allow nothing in our lives?
That hinders.
Our full enjoyment of His blessed presence.
And if there is anything that we can consider that is not?
Right in the sight of the Lord, may we judge that thing.
With an unsparing hand, not allow it to go on.
So that we might be like this dear man of God.
Who will fill with the Holy Ghost, looks up into that open heaven and sees Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
Oh, here we have brought before us.
The assurance asked where a child of God departs in the event of death.
For to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Oh, how beautiful. And yet in a way, how simple it all is. Scripture doesn't give us a confusing, mystifying thoughts. It brings everything with clearness.
Before our souls. And so here is a man just like any other.
One that God has chosen, looking up and seeing an open heaven, and seeing Christ standing at the right hand of God.
And then we find that he departs. He says, Lord, Jesus received my spirit. Well, the Spirit is that part of our being. You know all that.
Have not is eternal in its duration. The animal has a soul, but he has no spirit, and we divide the triune.
Being of man, the spirit of man is that which has a definite connection with God, and His spirit is hard. The blessed One who is waiting there in glory to receive Him. Oh, what a comfort for those who have been bereaved of their loved ones.
To think of that blessed One waiting, therefore.
To receive their loved ones into His presence very well standing to receive His faithful servant who had borne such a glorious witness for him, waiting there to receive His spirit.
Devout men carries even to his burial, For God has wonderful things spoken of in connection with the body. For you know, when man fell, he fell bodies, soul and spirit.
And when God provides a remedy, He doesn't provide a remedy that short of man's needs. And the work of Christ would not be complete without the resurrection of the body. And so the body is laid away to wait for that glorious resurrection day.
00:20:10
When?
Spirit and soul and body are all united. And then?
In full rapture they'll be with and like that blessed One, even in bodies of glory, like unto his glorious body. Will that suggest another?
Subject in the 4th chapter of Revelation.
4th chapter of Revelation and verse one.
After this argument, behold, the door was opened in heaven, and the first voice which I heard was, as it were, of a trumpet talking with me, which said, Come up, hit her, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter. And then he tells us, after describing the throne, and round about the throne, verse 4.
The four and 20 feet and upon the seats I saw 4 and 20 elders sitting.
Glowed in white raiment. They had on their heads crowns of gold.
Star striking that at the end of the third chapter we find Christ standing at the door knocking in the 20th verse of chapter 3, saying, If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him, I will stop with him and he with me.
So when we find the door closed.
Man's heart door closed to Christ below the finds. Next thing the door opened in heaven to receive his redeemed ones above.
I believe that this is the way the Spirit of God brings the promise of the Lord's coming before us.
In the Book of Revelation we get the history of the Church set forth in the addresses to the seven churches.
But it's given there as to man's responsibility and when man's responsibility is in question.
Man is a complete failure and you couldn't then bring in the coming of the Lord for the church. That would be out of order.
So the only way the Spirit of God brings his coming before us.
Is in connection with this door opened in heaven and the voice saying.
Come up, killer. Well, beloved, we're waiting for that event when we shall hear the voice of that Savior. We've heard it in a certain way in our souls.
When those words were spoken to our hearts, when he said, Come unto me or all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, We heard that voice, oh sweet, so precious in our soul.
But the day is coming when we are going to hear the very voice of that One who has brought such peace in our souls.
We're going to hear him, as it were, say, come up, hit her.
Or when we think the love of the state of things in this poor world and how rapidly.
Yeah, it's going on.
Is downward course.
At every moral principle is being given up and the dark war cloud going.
Settling over this Dome scene or what a comfort for us to think of that time.
When we'll hear his voice saying.
Up together then, instead of here in this scene of His rejection, you'll be in the scenes of His glory. That's what we're waiting for, beloved. May the Spirit of God keep that event fresh and frighten our souls. May we be like those.
00:25:10
That not only wait for their Lord, but like those that are watching.
The first sound of his voice.
All that when he cometh and not, he may throw open the door immediately, nothing between us and the glorious event, but just waiting and listening and longing for his return.
Oh, there's just one more place where an open heaven is mentioned that comes to my mind, and that's in the second chapter of John or the 1St chapter of John.
Is in connection with what the Lord said to Nathaniel when he owns Jesus in the 49th verse. In this way Nathaniel answered and said unto him.
Rabbi, thou art the Son of God. Thou art the King of Israel.
Well, that was in keeping with what we read in the second Psalm where you get the Lord spoken of as being put on the on the throne of Zion.
And where God owes him.
As his son.
But then you read in as on in the portion Jesus answered verse 50 and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the big tree, Believe us thou thou shalt see greater things than these. He said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open.
And the angels of God are spending and descending upon the full of man. That's the 8th song. We're in the eighth song. You'll get the Son of Man put his head over all things. And that brings us into a wider range of glory than even in connection with his title as Son of God, because that gave him.
The throne of David exalted him and Zion.
But all Zions Hill was not high enough for the one who had done all the Fathers. Will might just read then in that 8 Psalm a verse or two to see how his exaltation is set.
Before us there it begins around Jehovah our Lord, our Adenai, how excellent is thy name, and all the earth, where set thy glory above the heavens. And then you get in the fourth verse, What is man that thou art mindful of him.
And the Son of Man, that thou visited him, thou made us him a little lower than the angels.
And that frowned him with glory and honor, and made him to have dominion over all of the works of thy hands. Thou hast put all things under his feet.
Theirs is exaltation, or were the full last creation.
And we get a lovely thought here in connection that is in this last verse of the first chapter of John.
In connection with his glorious Son of man. For Jesus says, Thou shall see greater things than these. He said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God are spending and descending upon the Son of man.
We're right back to Jacob's dream, you know. Poor Jacob, a wanderer.
With a stone for a fellow.
So in his dream, God in heaven and the angels, a ladder stretching to heaven, and the angels going up and down on this ladder.
And then he was promised.
00:30:01
Those blessings connected with the earth God promised to Jacob and to see.
Well now the way we have the man, the Son of man is the one who is their glorified and we have.
Heaven and earth connected now.
The angels ascending.
Between heaven and earth.
And that looks right on beloved to it, after we have been translated to glory, as we saw on the 4th chapter of Revelation, when the voice is called us up there to be in his friends, then the time coming when that one was rejected.
And only wore the crown of thorns.
Below going to be exalted, and all heaven and earth will be united together and blessing under his under his name and title as some of man. Oh think of it, to love a man.
And all connected with him.
Conformed Transformed

Romans, chapter 12.
Verse One. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that she prevents your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reason. For I say, through the grace given unto me to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think.
To think so delay according, as God has built to every man the measure of faith.
How shall we turn back to the Psalms, the 144th Psalms?
Psalm 144. Beginning of the ninth verse.
I will sing a new song unto thee, O God upon us all tree, and an instrument of 10 strings will I sing praises unto thee. Is he that give us salvation on the king who delivered David his servants from the hateful sword.
Lead me and deliver me from the hand of strange children.
His mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
That our sons may be as plants growing up in their youth. That our daughters may be as cornerstones.
After the similitude of a palace that our dinners may be full, affording all manner of precious, all manner of store, when our sheep may bring forth thousands and 10 thousands in our streets, when our oxen may be strong to labor.
What there be no break in no going out that there be no complaining in our streets copy is that people that is in such a case very happy with that people whose God is the Lord. I had particularly before me and their young people to speak on this 144th.
But I read those verses in the 12Th chapter of Romans.
Because we have two particular words brought before us there. The word conformed and the word transformed conform to this world we are living in, a world of our system of things that has been built up of man.
Elimination from God.
A system of things where men and women.
Young people and children are sitting to find happiness through the efforts of their own hands, through their own planning.
And then we have that transforming process, and I believe us into the knowledge of the will of God.
And it brings us into that blessing which is found in walking in His well.
And this 144 some we had a little millennial picture black before us, a picture of the blessing that God will bring upon his people, Israel in a future day. But in a moral way we can apply it to ourselves, because it brings before us that which should characterize us.
If we have been in a practical way transformed, and so each one of us in this room, the speaker as well as the heels, is either being conformed to this world.
Being transformed by the renewal of our mind to prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. I say again that this world is of vast system.
And the whole principle upon which the world operates is.
To have a good opinion on yourself. That's why, when exhorting us not to be conformed to this world, it doesn't mention here willingness in the sense that we often speak of it, that it strikes at the very use of what worldliness is by saying not to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, you know.
It's self importance and it's that desire. It is in our hearts by nature.
To how the attraction to ourselves that brings so much sorrow and trouble into our lives. But when we are occupied with the Lord Jesus, when we are transformed into His likeness, then the great desire of our hearts and lives is that Christ might be seen in us when I walk and in our ways.
00:05:13
Instead of thinking highly of ourselves, we think so highly of our blessed, precious Savior who has saved us and who has done so much for us, that we desire that in every aspect of our lives, Christ should be seen.
And so it says about presenting our bodies a living sacrifice.
But that is, we belong to Christ, we have been redeemed at such a tremendous cost, and now we would seek to acknowledge his claims over us.
And to live for him and these young people. What a blessing this is when we discover it in our youth, as it says there. But we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God? How do we prove it?
We prove it as we walk in it. We may listen to these things ministered in the meetings, but unless we walk in it, we will never prove the blessedness of it.
You may hear of a very good highway, but if you never drive over it, you'll never know by experience what the highway is like.
You may have it by report, but you'll have to say when someone asks you about it. Well, I've heard it's very good, but I've never been over it myself. But all how different when you've been over that highway yourself and when you can speak of it as something that you know in a personal way.
Well, God would have us not only to know the truth of God as we learn it in His precious world, best of His, that is, but you know it in a practical way in our daily lives. In other words, dear young people, to walk in it, to prove the blessing of it as we walk in it.
For everyone who has walked in my path can speak well of that highway of holiness, can speak well of that pathway in which the Lord Jesus walked into perfection when he was down here.
Well, it all depends on what kind of company we keep. If we keep the company of the world, if we listen to all their ideas, if we follow all our reasonings, it won't be long until our thoughts and then our lives will be conformed to the world. We'll talk like them, we'll sleep like them, we'll dress like them. In every way we'll be like them.
But if we're occupied with the Lord Jesus.
We will find that our thoughts are changed our walking ways.
Even although appearance is that which bears testimony to the fact not we belong to Christ. And so going to this 144th Psalm, it says, here I will sing a new song unto thee, oh God.
What have you learned? That new song? Is there an unsaved person here this afternoon and you have never yet received the Lord Jesus as your Savior? All the songs you know are the world's songs, the songs of Christ, of Zion. They have no interest for you because your heart has never been tuned to sing His praise.
Doctor Wilson was a great singer before his conversion to God.
And he had a believed to sing at some entertainment being provided by the world, but God interrupted his plan and played Doctor Wilson soul. And when he told his friends that he had accepted Christ as their Savior, they said, well, are you going to sing at that entertainment for us? Well, he said, I'll have to sing a new song if I do.
He said if I come, I'll have to sing about my savior.
God had put a new song into his mouth, even praise unto his under his God honest side. Your head is turned. Always said, my heart has been turned. And your friends that's true. Dear young people, I hope you can sing this new song.
Because it begins down here. You will never be among the white robes company that will sing the Savior's praises above unless you have learned to sing the new song down here. Is the Lord Jesus your personal favor? Oh, it's not. There's no better time than this very day to receive Christ as your Savior. There's no more wonderful place to receive Him than right here.
00:10:20
When the hearts of hundreds would rejoice.
That you had found Christ, and you could join in the song wisdom to sing unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. Then it says he is an instrument of 10 strings. Will I sing poses unto thee? You know the children have a little song about two little eyes to look to God.
Two little ears to hear his words.
Cleaning his face to walk his ways, two hands to work for him all my days.
One little son to speak his truth, one little heart for him now in my youth. And if you're careful in your addition, you'll find that those four twos and two ones, they add up to 10, don't they?
Two eyes, two hands, 2 feet, two ears, one heart and one tongue. That makes time, doesn't it? So I like to think of that as the 10 stringed instruments.
Not only knowing Christ as your Savior, but sure. And this is presenting our bodies or letting you sacrifice so that our hands would now desire to do the will of the one who has won our hearts. Our feet would desire to walk in His ways.
Our years would like to listen to those things that are pleasing to him.
And indeed, our eyes would like to behold the things that we know please Him. Or how wonderful it is. When is that yielding of the whole life to Him? All dear young people, don't be afraid to do it. Don't be afraid to yield your whole life to the Lord Jesus. There's no one that desires your happiness like He does.
You may have friends who love you and who are interested in your happiness.
Who would sacrifice their own pleasure to make you happy? But you will never have one who loves you like the Lord Jesus. You'll never have one when you can yield undesirably and find in Him and in His will.
Unhindered blessing all. He who has prepared that home for you above and is waiting to welcome you there, is the one who wants to make you supremely happy down here. Oh, not only to know the new song, but also to sing it on 10 strings. And not only to know that Christ has saved you, but also to say Lord.
You won my heart.
I belong to thee. Or how lovely this is. Well, this is the beginning.
The introduction of this wonderful thing that is brought before us in this 144 Psalm. And the only way that this can be solved is in the measure in which this is true in our lives as a daily thing.
Then you notice in the 10th verse it says it is he that giveth salvation in the kings who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword. We're passing through an enemies lamb. We're passing through a world where the forces of darkness.
Gathered against us and we have no strength of our own. How often we find the conflict very strict. And I know the young people in this age in which you live, the conflict is really stiff. It is difficult. It's not easy to follow Christ because never was the world more organized to keep your heart away from the Lord Jesus.
And to hinder you can follow him fully. But all how wonderful.
But there is one who can, as it says he will give salvation on the kings, as one who knows every attack that the enemy brings against you, who knows to the weakness of your frame, as he knows the weakness of mine.
Each one of us has particular weaknesses. What might be a temptation to you might not be a temptation to me.
00:15:01
And what might be a temptation to me might not be particularly to you. We all have different tendencies that all the the one who has saved us is able to deliver us from those temptations and snails. And isn't it precious, as we pass through an enemies land and know only too well the weaknesses of our own hearts, to look up daily and say control?
God friendly do I put my trust? All the Lord Jesus is able to help you.
He's able to deliver you, the little song says. Ask the Savior to help you. All the young people make it the constant habit of your lives just to look up every step of the way and ask His help. Because there are snails, there are difficulties. Evil is becoming more and more open.
You are surrounded with it in a way that perhaps.
Soul are pronounced in you've gone by, but thank God it still says greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
And if you take your stand upon this precious book and turn to the Lord, as our brother remarks in the meeting this morning.
And in all thy ways acknowledge him.
In all thy ways, we can talk about it in connection with salvation and stop there. We can talk about it in connection with finding the place where the Lord would have us gather and stop there. But in all thy ways there is not a detail in your life or mine too small.
Or too great, but we cannot bring to him.
And he hasn't. He has a positive will about that matter and if you and I are close enough to him.
He says I will guide thee with mine eyes all He wants to guide us, He wants to bless us, and He give us salvation on the kings He delivers from the hurtful sword.
These are able to teach you depend upon him. Look to him in confidence.
Walk in obedience to His word, and you'll find blessing in the next verse with me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and the right hand is a right hand of falsehood. Well, this, I believe, brings before us separation. Separation.
Delivery from the hand of strange children.
And their mouth speaketh vanity, Their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. All I want to tell you.
That the company of the world is dangerous.
It says whosoever therefore will be the friend of the world is the enemy of God. And how many are promising young person who has started out so well?
Has formed the friendship with someone who was of the world.
And that friend LED that young person away into the world, because you know your world.
Can lead you down because you have a fallen nature like they have. I have a fallen nature like they have.
But the world can't lead you up, and you can't lead them up to if they're not saved, because there's no point of contact except through the fallen nature. That's all. And if you're going to enjoy things with them, you have to enjoy it as a natural man or a natural goal. And so here we find the psalmist saying.
With me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children.
Oh, dear young people, have you ever asked the Lord to keep you from those temptations? They're very real. There are some awfully nice young people who are not saved. I mean, lovely dispositions, kind. They do a kindness to you if they could. They're courteous, they're thoughtful, and yet they may be haters of Christ. I don't say that they're not nice.
00:20:06
Young people, I don't say that you wouldn't enjoy the kindness and good things that you see in them, but I say have their strange children if they don't love the Lord Jesus and if you can't speak with them about the Lord Jesus.
Then what do you have in common with them all the psalmist here realizing the particular snare that this is, he says ridden me and deliver me. And I believe every one of us, even those of us who are older here this afternoon.
Know how the friendship of the world was a snare to us at different times in our lives and we needed to cry. Lord lively and deliver me.
All through the young person here and you're slipping away into the world.
May this be your cry this afternoon.
Leave me and deliver me, it says. Their right hand is a right hand of falsehood. Falsehood. The world walks in a vain show.
They have nothing less wild to offer you, those very people. When they link up with them and become friends with them in an intimate way, you'll find they have no heart for your saviors and they have no true sense of spiritual values.
They townhouse, they, they wait everything in a false bounce. And the Bible says that a false balance is an abomination to the Lord or you weighing things in a true balance. But when the children of Israel paid the redemption money, it was to be after the shekel of the sanctuary. These had to be weighed in the right balances.
And things that may look very important to you in your youth.
Saying, well, that friend is helping me to get along. He's helping me to get pause, He's helping me to get this, He's helping me to get that. Perhaps in the values of faith in this world, it may be. So what is he helping you to follow Christ?
Did he make you conform to the world to buy? Poured some Jelly into a mold and then I put that bowl in the refrigerator. What's going to happen?
Why this Jelly is going to take the mold. It's going to turn just exactly like it. And if you turn it out of the mall, there it is.
That's out of a mold, but it's exactly the same as the mold. It's taken on its sheep. And if you and I go along with the world we're going to take on and shape, we're going to become like it, the transformed by the renewal of your mind.
That he may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
So may we not weigh things in a false balance, May we weigh things in a true balance and value that which God values, appreciate that which God appreciates. Going to leave the new translation of it. Fashion sculptured after the fashion of a palace, sculptured after the fashion of a power.
Well, here we find a word for our sons and for our daughters.
And may I pause here to call attention to the fact that before this it must have been talking to parents, because here it says that our sons and our daughters. And I want to say a word to myself and to the parents who are here this afternoon.
We think we wish that our young people had a heart for Christ, we wish they followed Him more. But all can we not say something to ourselves as parents? What kind of an example are we giving them?
That we are enjoying the Lord to be seeing us, That we think in terms of eternity. That we measure things as God measures them and values them as God values them. As an area has written, written in a little poem. It was a sheep, not a ram that went astray, but the lambs follow the sheep. And pardon me when I speak to myself as well as to those of us who.
Knowing his parents be exercised, if we want our sons and our daughters to belong to the Lord, perhaps we too could be before the Lord for our own pathways, that they might look at us and find what things we enjoy. Are we enjoying the Lord? Are we walking in the power?
00:25:19
Of this truth that we speak about, no notice of them.
Maybe it's plant grown up in their youth. You know, we hear an expression sometimes only a lot person grow up. When will that person grow up? Well, I like to see people grow up in their youth.
Sometimes, you know, dear young people, there's a thought of an idea that you have to store your walled up, you have to have your slave face. But here the desire of the stone school that our son may be as planned, grown up in their youth. And I like to see young people have a happy time. It's only normal.
That they should desire young companies.
Fellowship, healthful exercise, but you don't have to sell your wildest. You don't have to go out and have a fling in the world because there's many a young person that has gone out to have a fling in the world and has roots that all the rest of his life has rooted with sorrow. All your young people. We desire that you should be grown up into your in your youth.
In the chapter that we were reading this morning, it says that we may grow up unto him.
In all things, when I can't stand anymore blessed motive before your heart than to grow up unto Christ, grow up under Christ. I know as I say, when you're young, you have a young outlook and I don't believe that the Scripture condemns this that I say, is it in keeping with the mind of God?
Are you speaking?
Know the Lord's planes over you, but our sons may be its plants grown up in their youth. And I want to say a particular word to the young boys here.
Because the Spirit of God in this verse separates the sun and the daughters, and it's the balls that give the example. It's the balls that give the example. And it's those of us. You young boys, let me speak to you. Are you giving an example to the others? Are you seeking to walk in such a way that others look at you? I'm seeing you. The quality that ought to characterize.
God made you a man. God has committed public ministry to man.
He has committed leadership to men on what we lack today, his young men who have the quality of godly leadership in the Assemblies of God on a God grant that there will be an exercise that our young people, our young men may be grown up in their youth.
Plants of the Lord's planting going on for him, and then notice the word to the daughters.
And our brothers may be a cornerstone.
Captured after the fashion of a power, you know it's natural for a girl.
At this weekend, there is going to be a fashion show and there is going to be a lot of people that are going to watch the fashions go by well as a fashion show right here there's a fashion show on each one of you are showing what kind of fashion you desire to follow.
And isn't it lovely here, sculptured after the fashion of a palace, we belong to the household of God.
You are being build of his inhabitation of God through the Spirit. And isn't it lovely than our daughters?
Our fashion structured after the fashion of a power so that others looking at them will see without which characterizes a godly Christian girl and our desire to please him. All this is sure of the world, first for the sun to be grown up in their youth, and then a word for the daughters that they might be fashioned.
00:30:05
Sculptured after the fashion of a palace.
Oh how lovely this is. Wouldn't it be grand if each one of us feel young people had such an exercise as this? There are meetings then would be as we have further on here. Happy is that people that is in such a case. Oh how lovely it would be. What a blessing it would be if we were parents heeded the warning that's given to us.
If our young boys heeded the warnings that's given to them.
And if our daughters, in seeking to follow the fashions, would think of the fashions of a similaritude, of a power, thou which is pleasing to the One who loved us and gave them so forth.
Then the 14th verse.
What are garners may be full affording them all manner of store. Know how lovely this is the garners may be full of that is there would be about feeding upon Christ.
Feeding upon Christ? How often does it drive in the meetings?
Because there is something of conformity to the world instead of conformity to Christ.
But I believe, dear brethren and dear young people, but if we were all exercised in this way.
How that there would be as we have here, our garners would be full, that the meanings would be bright, happy places. Christ would be ministered in power. We've come to the meeting and sit down and really be refreshed in our souls.
Only God grant that there may be this exercise with us, that we might be before the Lord for our pathway, so that the meetings might be as we have here, affording all manner of stars at the dear Saints of God might receive refreshments and blessings for their souls.
That our sheep may bring forth thousands and 10 thousands in our streets.
Father speaks of fruitfulness. Fruitfulness, daughter would be more blessing from the result of our activities. More blessings. Why is it that we don't see more blessings? Well, I believe it's partly because we ourselves are not walking close enough to the Lord.
I believe the Lord would use us more than he dies if there was more exercise with each one of us.
To walk in a way pleasing to the Lord so that an outsider coming into the meeting, as it says in Fourth Corinthians chapter 14, when he comes in, he would fall on his face and confess that God is in you of a truth.
So my sheep, they bring forth thousands and 10 thousands in our streets.
That our oxen may be strong to labor. That there may be no breaking in nor going out. All what a what a word this is. No breaking in, no going out.
All what God has to do to break some of us down, what he has to do.
All those stubborn wills of ours. Dear young people, I'm looking into your faces.
And if you don't go on with the Lord, the Lord loves you too much to let you go your own way. And he has his own way of breaking the thin. He has his own love breaking the thin. And it's not a very pleasant process. Sometimes we read in the Bible of a little animal that didn't have to be broken in or didn't have to be broken in. Why didn't it have to be broken in?
Because it let Jesus sit on it.
On that little animal, it didn't have to be broken in. It was brought into false objection to the one who took its place upon its back. It didn't rear. It didn't jump. It didn't say I love my own way. That was fully.
Give an end to the world of the Lord Jesus. All dear young people.
May God grant about your let the Lord give us take its place upon your back, as it were. And I said for you, I say it for myself, all God has to break us down sometimes in a very hard way. He loves us too much to let us go our own way.
00:35:11
But all he doesn't want to have to break up in that way. I say again, that little animal didn't have to be broken in Jesus Sodom. When you let the Lord Jesus have his rightful place, then he won't have to pass you through some heartbreaking experience to break the heart to break your heart to break the heart of your parents, to break the heart of your brethren because.
The Lord loves you, and He wants to break down that will and draw you to Himself.
But there may be no breaking him and notice, nor going out, nor going out.
All this is fabulousness.
I've talked to a lot of young people. I've watched a lot of young people grow up. And I'm I'm sorry to say I've seen quite a few of them go out. Go out. Yes, they were brought up in the meeting. They heard the truth that was ministered to them. Their brethren prayed for them, their parents prayed for them. They loved them. They pleaded with them. But they've gone.
But there may be no going out here, young people, if you get before the Lord.
And ask him to keep you he will keep you. He wants to keep you. He wants the blushes that there may be no going out, no baking in that then they no complaining in our streets. What would this tell us of submission to the will of God in our life submissions.
Are you and I going about complaining it's not the way a Christian should act? Who ought to be a happy people?
Anyone who has a right to be happy. If the Christian, there's anyone who has a cause for thankfulness, it's the Christian.
But there will be no complaining in our streets. Oh, how much complaining there is. And why? Is it because we want our own way? We're not submissive to the will of God, and so we complain. We grumble, always grumbling about somebody or something. Somebody didn't treat us the way they should. The meetings aren't what they should be.
The other young people aren't what they should be. Well, the Lord would have each one of us to be exercised.
That we might be going on to please the Lord and accepting our circumstances from Him. That there be no complaining in our streets. That complaining ever bring you any happiness itself, will bring you any real lasting happiness. No, it brings souls, brings grease.
Copy is the people that is in such a case.
Happy is that people whose God is the Lord?
Do you want to have happiness? You want to have the blessing of God? Friends can come to you and shake your hand and say.
Wish you the blessing of God, but they can't give it to you, but the Lord can.
The Lord can give you and He wants to give it to you. He wants to fill your life with happiness and blessings.
He's marked out the pathway in his precious words and all. How lovely this is. Happy is that people that is in such a case. Yay. Happy is that people whose God is the Lord? Nor may I say again how we conform to this world.
Or as it all desire, that we should be transformed, that our minds should be removed.
But our thoughts might be formed by the word of God, and that our lives might be fashioned in a way that's pleasing to the Lord.
God speak to each one of our hearts. Bear with this little Psalm that brings before us A millennial picture may also be a voice to us so that we may have something of the joys of heaven upon earth. All dear young people, again I say, I speak these words in love. I desire Your happiness and your blessing. Nothing makes my heart more happy than to see dear young people.
Really want to follow Christ. We want to belong for Him. We want to live for Him.
For my God granted, it will be so as the Lord's coming draws near.

16 First of Ephesians 4, from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplier, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, making the increase of the body onto the edifying of itself in love.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that she has more walk not as other Gentiles walk in the vanity of their minds, having the understanding darkness and animated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in there because of the blindness of their heart.
Who being past feeling, giving themselves over unto lasciviousness.
Work all uncleanness with grievance, but she have not so learned Christ, so be that you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus that you put off, or having put off concerning the former conversation, the old land, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust, and being renewed in the spirit of your mind.
Unless you haven't put on the Newman, which after God is created in righteousness and through holiness, wherefore putting away land, speaking every man truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
The angry and Sinnath, let not the sun go down upon your wrath, neither give place to the devil, but him that stole steal no more, but rather let him labor working with his hands.
The thing which is good that you may have to give him that needeth.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use of edifying, that it may be Mr. Grace under the hearers. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, or by your sealed under the day of redemption.
But all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking.
Put away from you with all mouths. Be kind one to another.
Sender harder forgiving one another, even as God for Christ sake hath forgiven you.
Call attention to that sixteen birds called the public received that first as more. The maximus was a faithful gift to the body of Christ. They are special gifts that the offended strike stole upon his body down here.
Yeah, I've been considering those gifts and their ministry, the result of their ministry.
All we have in this fixing first.
The functioning of all members.
In the body of Christ, the whole body especially joined together and compacted by that with every joy by.
Oh, wait, yeah.
The operation of the Spirit of God in a local assembly, or the apostle of rating in this circle to a local assembly.
And the city of it, and that the subject of state from subject of the various gifts told on the whole body.
Or it was feared that as soon as one is definitely.
Marked out as the gift of the body of Christ.
As ministry is not localized in connection with one assembly.
We become.
The.
Gift to the Body of Christ wherever the members of Christ are found here on earth.
But here we're looking in the 60s first.
And what we find in the local assembly, every member having a special place.
And a special function.
In thy body.
That rifle there, yes, and it says fitly join together. It's an unseen hand that was brought together. It is an abandoned together. So now we're going to get together and we're going to do this or we're going to do that, but let me join together the unseen path and that is you say there is.
00:05:17
It's compacted by that which every joint supply, every joint the body has something to supply. And in our physical bodies that way, if there's something in one joint didn't supply, why by by the the lameness there?
Well compacted by every joint supply.
And every choice of five left another joint supplier.
Each one has a distinct place, a place God appointed place.
So, well, we'll just speak to spill whatever little bit the water is being squeezed together.
It doesn't the matter of 1 member being more important than others. Just pulling the little place called Pastor Bill. I'm just thinking how important such things as prayer.
You can't see the heart.
But what would Japan do without the heart? And how important these things are? We see a brother going off to the hospital to visit the sick. We see a sister underneath praying for the work. Well, you don't see those things, but they are a part and important part.
Very important.
To know that that one who was out visiting or preaching is supported by prayer. All these things have their place and sometimes are the more important thing from dark side.
I once visited Montreal and went to see 2 old sisters. One was Edward, had been bedridden for years.
Oh, how to kill my heart when she told me it wasn't the day went by that she didn't pray for me. Well, that sister couldn't go to meeting, but she was doing her little party there, lying in that bed of affliction, lying to the hand of God, and that was glorifying Christ was.
On the members of his body.
Meridian, Subject One, verse 27.
Beautiful before God and the Father is this to visit the fabulous and we listen their affliction and then of course to keep himself on Spanish from the world.
I believe that will include.
On marriage of doll comes in through the mouth, doesn't it? But it has to get to each member of the body through the joints and them and each one of us should be exercised that there is no hindrance in on our part towards that.
Nourishment, getting to all the joints and bands. So I believe it's connected here with the 15th verse two speaking or holding the truth in love.
How often there may be some very precious ministry that's given out, but because there is some bad feeling that is allowed or something of that nature, the nourishment doesn't flow. The different members of the body as it should, while each one of us are either a help or a hindrance in that, not only by prayer and by the part that we do.
But there's that kind of flowing through the members.
So that each part receives the nourishment. And how lovely it is when each one of us are exercising to fill our part in the Assembly of God, so that there would be no hindrance to the flesh in reaching out to each other member of that body.
For it's all one. It all comes down from the head. Not one of us in this meeting have anything of ourselves. We had always come down from the head. That is their hindrance then. Oh, it isn't because there isn't plenty in the head, just as the food is taken in by the mouth, but the hindrances in the flow of the food and the nourishment to the parts of the body.
00:10:05
And to each one of us, not the exercise that we would never present any hindrance.
To that precious supply that comes down from the head, that each member might benefit by us.
Speaking of prayer, Speaking of epigraph and collection.
4.
Buffing words there too, isn't it? Democrats 4 and 12, Who is one of you? A servant of Christ, Community servant of Christ. But notice what His servant is always laboring fervently for you in prayer.
And what is this, Claire? That you may stand perfect and complete, all will be strong or a very record that you have a great deal for you. It's lovely, isn't it?
You like one of those?
Four in the corner of the Tabernacle.
To read the subject, there were two boards and and connection with the building of the Tabernacle.
Completely hit it was a ring went around him so he wouldn't see the report from the Oxford, but they sold a very important place. They tell the old Tabernacle vision where or.
That's like one of those men called epocrat. Just one of you is that it was one of the board if anything, like get in First Corinthians 12 by experience and the 14th first of First Corinthians 12.
Of the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall fade, because I'm not the hand, I'm not of the body, is it therefore not of the body? And if the air will say, because they're not the eye, I'm not of the body?
Is it fair for and out of the body if the whole body were and I where were the hearing the whole were hearing, where were the spelling? But now I thought that the members, every one of them in the body doesn't have pleased him.
But it is because one member did not get and is unable.
To be as helpful or.
Minister of the word as hard as another. I just mean that he has no place to build. He has a very important place to build. And there's another.
Warning that given in the 21St 1St and the I cannot say under the hand, I have no need of these, or again the head to the feet I have no need of you. A much more of those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary.
And those members of the body which we think should be less honorable upon being, we've been no more abundant honor and our uncommon part I have more abundant confidence.
There were two dangers that the apostle Warren against having him for a member of the party to say, Oh, I haven't any.
Faithful gift our mouth needed in any way well that's wrong because there I have a very necessary important part in our bodies doesn't change the fact that we require years the other danger of.
One thing well, I have no need of you, because the brother may have a shiny gift and a very special usefulness.
Well, he needs to be careful that he doesn't disturb or he doesn't hinder the working of the Spirit of God and another brother. If you have a very stable gift, but that's hard to but.
This weaker, this more feeble member carries on.
May be just as necessary as the brighter, more outstanding gift of another. Know how important it is that love should be the mainspring of it all. I was thinking of the prayer at the end of the third chapter of Ephesians and the 17th verse says that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith.
00:15:19
That he, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to top the hand with All Saints. What is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that he might be filled with all the fullness of God.
I believe in this 18th verse, comprehending with All Saints what is the breast and length and depth and height. It's not of the love of Christ. It's the length and bless and death and height of the truth of God, the place into which the believer has been brought.
So it says the measure of the blessings and then it says.
And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that she might be filled with all the fullness of God.
It would be like the young man when he's married and he's provided a beautiful home and takes his bride and shows her this beautiful home that's been provided. He takes her from room to room and shows her how elegantly it has been furnished.
And she admires this lovely home. But then when that's done, he puts his arm around her and says, and I want you to know there was love that provided everything here for you. Well, that's the thought here. And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge.
And unless we minister the truth in love, people may see the truth, but they'll never be kept unless there's that love that goes with it and joy in the soul. And that girl, if she has that beautiful home, it won't mean a thing to her if there isn't love inside its walls.
And brethren, I do feel how important it is that we hold the truth in love, that we speak the truth in love, because every blessing that has flowed out from the heart of God toward us has flowed out according to the law that's in His heart, and that law is without limit.
Have a blessedly ministered in that way. We are not presenting it as the heart of God would have it presented. If we give a gift to somebody on behalf of another, unless we give it in such a way as to express the heart of the giver, we have given it in the right way.
And so in presenting the truth, whether it's for God's will or whether it's the ministry to the Saints, what is going to nick the hearts of the Saints together, what is going to keep them going on is that it should be ministered in such a way that it shows forth the heart, the heart of God.
That their hearts should be warm and drawn closer to him, to one another.
Well, the Ephesians evidently failed in that because it's recorded there in Revelation. They had left the first thought and what you were saying about speaking the truth in love and whether it's finished in the Saints or in the God, for one is often thought of that in Second Thessalonians, the 2nd chapter about those that are.
Let it the snare of the Antichrist. It says they're in the 10th 1St about his what is deceivable work and with all the seawallness of unrighteousness in them that perish because they receive not the love of the truth that they might be saved, doesn't say they've received not true.
They may have known people talk about plan of salary.
But they have received the love that was behind it all, the love that sent the Savior into this world. They receive not the love of the truth. I think that's very important.
Very important because they're found five times in the political.
That first chapter, verse four, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love, and 3:17.
At Christ play dwelling your heart by faith achieve being rooted and grounded in love and chapter 4 verse 2 with all loneliness and meekness, with long-suffering for bearing one another in love and 4:15.
00:20:07
Of speaking the truth about.
On verse 16 making increase in the body comes to be 85 felt in love and finally testified verse two and walked in love.
Of those two words are very important. Now suppose they repeated so often and the difficulty in chord. You were thinking about the passing knowledge. I'm just thinking about that which is understood by the spirit, the difficulty in court.
The first two chapters the apostle was bringing before them that which there was plenty of gifts, but they were being attracted to persons because it was they were carnal and it wasn't.
What we're thinking of these dimensions, the height and the depth pattern, you know, Abraham had the breath, but it was only as far as he could see. But we have the other two dimensions added and there's no limit now.
Because it's the Spirit, it's life from the Spirit. So the apostle brings them back in the second chapter of First Epistle of Corinthians to the cross.
Because it isn't creation. Now that's our teacher, but the cross.
There we see the maximus love of God, and I believe, brethren, that not only are we saved.
Through the brain being brought to that point on the cross, but every time that we advance in our soul.
It's going back again and again at that point, and if we are, if we get away, it's getting back to the cross again because it's the love of Christ that's half of knowledge. We've been brought into a new vast field that there is no ending to. Who's going to live with the Spirit? Who's going to limit that? It's down and brought to the believer in bright.
That much?
We've been brought into that which is endless in its character, and we need to, I believe, to get that point in the first two chapters of Corinthians, they're the apostles beginning to open up these truths and the practical truth of the body here on earth, and it goes along with our chapter at least that much.
It has to do with the law of the affection. So the Lord instructed his disciples, and he had them together in the 13th chapter of baptism.
This long men though that shear my disciple in that you have loved one to another. Then came in the world at the beginning because Adam and Eve doubted the goodness that was in the heart of God. If they had really believed that God had provided everything for their good and for their happiness in the garden, they would never have wanted one of yet forbidden.
It was because they didn't believe that he had provided for their goodness.
Happiness. And we know that in family life, if our children do not believe that we are really, that we really love them and are seeking their good, they're going to go elsewhere. They're going to seek something outside away from us. And I believe it's the same in the Assembly Light, brethren, that unless our brethren realize that we love them and that we're seeking their good.
Why? There's going to be difficulties arise, but if each one of us have that sense in our sense, in our souls, that there was a mutual desire for one another's good.
How much easier it would be to take correction than things that are spoken.
There's no love. Just me. Well, we all contribute to what in the assembly?
Our way of bringing our share of love, that's an exercise each plummet we see called well spring love ourselves. So the spirit of love, even if there is hold of indifferent among some and could destroy a lot of concern for their friends or the way that love is shown out.
John tells us is that.
Well, the Lord Himself says in the 14th chapter that the world may know that I love the Father. Is that the way it is? Even as He has given the commandments, so I do so He says to His people, to the disciples.
00:25:08
If you love me.
You will keep my commandments or my words later and so it is the the effect we have from the 71St arm shows.
Out that's in this chapter. It's the practical effect in our life. If there is that now in the in the 119 Psalm, I think it says thy testimonies are wonderful.
They're just my soul, nothing. Although it doesn't, it says therefore death my soul keep them. The Lord God is the sudden shield.
That's the the 45th Solomon or 84th.
The Lord God is the sun and shield.
Have some oh good things that even hold from them to walk upright. So that's it. It doesn't go to love him, but it still has walked upright. But they do like him if they walk upright. And so the practical effect of it is that if we keep his commandments, we manifest down here that we love.
My brother very speaking about complaining about lack of love, well, isn't like the sure sign one is complaining about the lack of it. They're not showing us themselves or they wouldn't be complained about it if it works. Your father used to use the illustration of.
You tell us that with your mind, brother Hail and everyone on the brother and Mark born from a reading meeting. You said that was a pretty dry meeting, wasn't it? Well, a lot of brothers said to him, well, why when silver flowing?
Next, what our brother stags. We all know that companies priming if there's water in the pump while we just put some in and we get out much more than we put in.
And God has put that love in the heart of every believer. But sometimes it needs to be drawn out and a little bit put in brings out a lot. A remark of Mr. Darby that has been a great help to me in my Christian life was Christianity is known by what it brings, not by what it finds.
And I believe that's important for us. We're responsible to bring love, whether it's into the home or the assembly or whatever it is the the Christian is to be one who brings something it says in first John 2-3 rather not my brethren, if the world hate you. And then instead of the next verse, we know that we have passed from them under life.
Loved the brethren. Now we might say, well, I don't get much love from the world, but I do get love from my brethren. But that isn't what the verse says. Doesn't say you can expect it from your brother, but it says you do love them. And so sometimes when we're disappointed with the way the world treats us, then we, we think, well, our brethren have just shown the love to us. They should. But that isn't what the expectation is.
We know that we have passed from death unto life because we love the problem that is God has planted in the heart of every believer of heart that is possible to love, no matter what kind of return there is. Natural love must have something in return. Divine law lacks from what it is in its source. And what is the heart of God?
Oh, it's the source of law, brethren.
And if you and I are acting in divine love, we show love no matter what there is in return. That's the way the light of God acts.
2nd Corinthians 1215 Second Christian 12 and I feel very glad his best and best for you.
Go the more fun fair enough is the best I belong. Can we say this view of the fact that the spirit is love, but not the spirit always minister of peace in law? Well, the spirit may be do that, but then the difficulty is with mimics of selfless do it unconscious almost thinking here this 17.
This I say therefore testify on the Lord henceforth walked on his other Gentiles walk here we've had some of the highest 2 The Christian truth Christian truths brought before.
00:30:08
Food price to our portion placing him and this here shows that the amount of truth of the whole will not in itself keep yet come down here and exhort not to walk with other Gentiles before.
In the vanity of their mind that the child of God is not in communion can take down to the level of what his past life. I heard a brother coming one time.
About him and others were looking for bad words, but him that soul feel no more and every time they got from the book of these seasons why they just skipped over that they said oh they wouldn't find it in Jesus because the Jesus gives us the highest risk truth that we have for word of God.
Well, that every time skipped over that and they hurt first. Finally, they had to turn to the book of these seasons and through their outstanding.
Found that first let him that stole still no more join the tireless dog, one who has high privileges and flesh. Actually guilty of the Lord. Kind of feeling that world despite Johnny in the second epistles of the elections.
A lovely word in connection with love. The elder under the elect Lady and her children.
Whom I love, truth has not, and not I only, but all, but also all the that have known the truth of the true state, which dwelleth inner and shall be with us forever.
Oh grace, be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father.
In truth and love and truth and love.
I'd rather go wrong, of course, either, George, lately that I found of thy children. I don't say all thy children, but of thy children might have been some that we're not working in the truth, as you have received a command from the father. Now I defeat the lady and others, though I wrote a new commandment under thee of that which we have had had from the beginning.
That we love one another. Divine love is lower down preciously in that literally fiction and our age of the glory of Christ and of the good of the same.
Refrained from stealing or more or less with me and is not negative, but positive. So it goes on to say that Ronald let him label.
Say, which is good, A-Team might have to give to him that needed a man who was just immediately refined from ceiling, but he jumped the moralist only.
Grace always goes beyond law. Law.
And command God shall not feel. Grace not only tells the believer not to kill, but it tells him also to label working with his hands when he may have to give.
That is good to others, just as long as don't put your hand in your neighbors pocket. Put your hand in your own pocket and give something to someone that's in need. The safety first tells us something of the depth to it.
The natural man has some, and it speaks they're having their understanding darkness.
The inalienated from the life of God, not terrible thing to think about it through the ignorance of them. Because of the blindness there are pardons of their heart, who being past feelings give themselves over the last seriousness work all uncleanness.
A bit of things that is, but still he says your role and you walked on another Gentiles walk that the child of God can sink down to that level gets out from him.
00:35:10
He has not to learn Christ. What of tomorrow? Wonderful contrast to talk before, and that's what the question is to be occupied with Christ himself, head of all the darkness of his corruption, being in the world on every side of the turn from that.
We see every perfection, every nuclear problem in The Walking waves of our blessing one down here. So with him before us, I were delivered from the world with all that planet here darkness.
Up.
Delivers us from the corruption down here isn't putting ourselves under law, and thou shalt not but his occupation was something infinitely better. And there is only in Christ we find perfection.
We bring like the truth. That's pardon me.
Some words are true, but it would be very difficult to speak of or explain. And this expression, life of God perhaps is one of them. As you were saying, there's some things that we we just wander in the door.
We enjoy these foods, but I suppose that we could speak of it in this way, that if we read the four gospels and we're occupied with Christ.
Someone has said if you want to have your heart or read the gospel and if you want to be instructed the missile, but in the Gospels we have the person of the right before us that life brought before vividly. We don't read the gospel. We won't be enjoying them practically in our souls. Again, here doesn't make us speak of the two natures.
And so we know that even if a person has been saved, the old nature has not improved at all.
It's corrupt according to the deceitful lust, and the Newman is created in righteousness and through holiness.
Would there be the thought alienated from the life of God?
Adam did receive his life directly from God.
But when he fell, he became a fallen creature, and so old man did receive his life directly from God. He is a fallen creature. And every one of us were born with that fallen nature. And when we are saved, it is important for us to see that the old nature does not improve at all. The truth that we may learn will never change the old nature in us at all.
Which is born of the flesh, his flesh. The old man is corrupt according to the deceitful love, and sometimes this is what causes discouragement with a young believer. After he is saved, he thinks that the old nature has changed.
And is very surprised to find within him the old information that were there before his conversion to God.
Well, let us remember, brethren, it never, never improves and never will, but we have this new life, the very life of Christ.
That which we will have in heaven. And now as we feed that new man and put the old nature in the place of death, then we can be in the enjoyment of these things and in the practical Buddhism in our lives. So it's not by attempting to change the old nature at all. And it's important to gain, I say, after we are saved. It has not improved.
And all the truth that we can learn will not change the old nature.
And so he goes on here to a little aggravation and connection with the two natures, and the way God sees the believer having put the old man in the place of death and having to put on the Newman, now he used to walk with the power of that new life that God has given to him.
Of the 18th blood terrorist.
00:40:00
As natural darkness of heaven and we have willful God. This is the woman in this in this hall that hasn't been brought into the light of love of God. One of wolves. There's natural dogs taken off here in the safety school. There is willful job John.
His job with our bubble, with the clothing of the gods.
Lead on to judicial doctrines.
Judicial dolphins and all the loans. Something most of the world. One was thinking here was 21St bird. If so be that she have heard him well, one might say that perhaps.
We take our thoughts back to left the Max, and come unto me. All you either labor or heavy laden. I'll give you rest. Well, have we heard that voice? Have you heard it to come on to me or land? And says and has been taught by voices. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me. So it's been taught by him.
And then it says, as the truth is in Jesus, it doesn't say that's the truth in Christ.
The beginning of your soul Christ. But the truth as it is in Jesus, all of that bowling life, that he way and manner in which he walked through this scene.
The truth as it is in Jesus, the one who humbled himself came down here and taught by him as the truth is in Jesus. So glad about this Christianism. Truth is mother Mary.
There is emojis of this Judas is part of probably a picture of what we have here.
This expression from the end of the 18th could be hardness, could it not? Hardness of their heart. And he hardened himself against the truth he had heard for possibly 3 1/2 years under the direct ministry of the Lord Jesus and.
He was passed feeling.
He hardened his heart, and so he turned to.
An outlet for his wickedness. And he was a thief. That's the second step, so.
He says.
You have not so learned Christ.
Judas had the opportunity, he was ignorant, but he was also willfully ignored because his heart was heart. But he says you have not still learned Christ. We vote three and if we have the heart going forward in three different ways, there don't we are thinking of the daughter to heart and heart.
Even 3 and verse 8 heart not your heart, that is that first they always heard of their heart.
The hardest part and the very heart, and then bothers making sweater must there be in any of you an evil mind adopted them hard and hard first, then it becomes an early heart, there is a very important.
Thought Forest on the 23rd horse and be removed.
In the third of your mind.
We need that constant renewed.
Oh, all through the day our minds may be get taken up.
With all the things of this world that far.
And troubled by.
Going on maybe in their family, but there needs to be that constant renewing of a mind bringing in the places through the word of God.
Friends of Christ, or that's something.
To exercise all.
Through the dam, we don't have night. When we're lying, I have to always drop off.
Speak to a friend.
My name is Patrick of his word the memory.
In our minds, engaged in the with the thing in Christ is glory before. That's the thought of the truth, that this is Jesus being occupied with the gospel.
00:45:05
Not necessarily just that, but I mean as sort of leading our hearts along those lines, yes, that's blowing life, right? How many self coming down here?
First Timothy 316 That was right to assist.
The mystery of godliness and then it gives us the pathway of the Lord Jesus through this world. And so the secret of godliness is his blessing halfway and in 2nd Corinthians 4 it says all he's caring about in the bodies and dying of the Lord Jesus that the life also of Jesus.
Might be manifest in our bodies. That is all. The one who is walking in communion with the Lord acts in this world. Well, he'll display the moral characteristics that we're seeing in the Lord Jesus and his blessed pathway here because we have his life.
And so that's why we need that continual renewing, because everything that's about us in the world appeals to the old man, to the fallen nature. It says in the first John Two, all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but he's of the world.
The whole vast world system is intended to stir those lusts in our hearts.
What do we need? Well, we need a renewing of the mind, because the truth of God and the things of God appeals to the middleman, feeds the Newman, and that causes us to be more occupied than the Lord Jesus, and that in a practical way to display that life which is ours, which we possess.
You were restoring the 2nd Corinthians for one. Yes, sorry.
Well, if we're living in lagoon of what we get Second Corinthians.
Three and the last birthday, Harvey, the 17th.
Now the Lord is that first, and where the spirit of the Lord is, and every liberty, but we all would openly the holy knowledge of nature that makes those.
Glass.
The glory of the Lord are changed into the same way from glory to glory, even as far as the spirit of the Lord of the garden that we get there. Why the truth of Satan? Corinthians fall with the manifest in our life.
Always bearing about in the body the joy of the monster.
The life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our love.
Yeah, always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. Then we live our holy delivers on the death.
For Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal place. All wonderful.
I noticed that brother one being left 22nd 1St and the 24th 1St of March after.
As you'll find it in the new translation, the better translation.
Makes quite a difference.
The way read having for all and there is 24 words and having put on the new man.
That's the way God favors.
That we are.
Or a far crazy concern. We're done with the old simple man called the flesh. I'm nothing more than do it.
After old man met his end in the best of life, now God, Jesus and the new man.
So we are just to act and live according to what God says we are.
00:50:07
Invaded by new and bright fields going to Washington where you get resurrection thought in if she are dead is that positive statement of the truth that took place at at the cross. Now resurrection has come in and believers seen infection with that new life. So in Washington she are dead.
The wake of Christ and brethren is not only important to see, but He died before us.
Exactly that, but that we have died with them. It's very important to see the two aspects for the work of the.
Present ministry of the Lord and bring all that about the washing of water by the word my present himself a glorious church to that spot or wrinkle or any such thing. That's the green, the word report one way or another.
That is the washing, the water cleansing from the bottom of the way one was thinking about the moment, the second word be not informed. This world transformed by the renewing of the mind. Well, it may prove that that was good and acceptable, I believe.
Well, it's the application words were sold.
For that very purpose right now. So it's being renewed in the spirit. Your mind should leave, you leave and that 23rd verse theme.
It isn't an expectation, is it? However, it amounts to that in a certain sense that there should be that exercise, but.
It's the fact of the work of the Spirit of God and the soul God.
Thinking of Gideon when our brother read in Second Corinthians chapter 3.
Gideon said to his man book on me and do likewise and so they had the person pictures with the light, the lamps within the picture and then the lamp was broken so the lights would shine out well when we look at the Lord Jesus.
Then we want that which is of self to be broken down in the word, put in the place of death, so that the life of Jesus might be seen, might be a man married Gillian man who didn't like to see his vessel broken down, while Gideon would say it must be broken so the light can shine.
And so in that 4th chapter he says persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed.
And brethren, if we would always see that all that God is passing us through is for this very purpose, it's so that we wouldn't be setting forth, you know, be occupied itself, but the circumstances of life are.
Calculated to help us to teach the old nature in the place of death so that the life of Jesus would be seen in US. And I believe that's what's brought before us here in this chapter 2, being renewed in the spirit of our mind. There were Gideon Smith with the pictures broken, with the light shining out brightly.
While it caused all the Camp Chlamydia Knights to run, cry and flee because.
They didn't see your pictures, they saw shining light. Well, that's what our testimony should be to in this world. We've got the urban picture, but let's keep it in the place of death and the light will be shine.
We'll rest the breaking of our own wheels, and we all have very strong wills like to have our own way as soon as we please.
To all kinds of things.
You will break. That will bring out you something to kill.
Must be the IT must be the working of the Holy Spirit in each woman.
Yeah, well, it will live in.
00:55:03
John that's a wonderful chance I learn there Genesis then the bike came down from from heaven. Well, it's not only for the brain and my soul salvation that is the way for me to feed upon on my daily customers.
And if I'm not speaking upon you or the lean soul?
Would you give us some thoughts on being angry and sitting off but not the sun go down on your rack? Well I know how something has taken this, but.
It seems to me here there might be occasions where one might be angry for the Lord's sake.
But if you carry it on too far and would come in and so don't retain us, let's not the sun go down upon your rest. I know some of things, you know a figure of gesture and I don't think it applies here.
That you never let suffer done, always hold it up. We became accustomed to evil. We accepted this sort of a light attitude because it had become a common thing. We're really giving place to the devil. That's why I was thinking of that verse in the Psalm, the 7th Psalm. God is angry with the wicked every day. God does not ever look lately upon man's sin, and we never should either.
If we supposing there's a there's all this witness live next door to you.
He speaks evil of Christ. Well, he is just this sort of forget that. Go along friendly with him. Oh no, you can never suggest. And his honor that has been done to Christ. And if you look lightly on it, first thing you know you'll be giving place to the devil. And I believe it's very solemn thing for us that if we are called upon to be faithful to the glory of Christ.
We can never, we will never, change our minds about what is according to the truth of God without giving place to the devil.
Nothing to say, official of John Poser, that we're not able to shoot, salute, salute such a man because that's what I'm saying. Yeah, he connected. Legal doctor, let me do perhaps those connection with the assembly.
It is too much.
Terrible doctor. So yes, go on there. But in the last of this chapter who had quite very little comment or read it and let it reach our carpet exercise. They just watch those characters.
Knowing that we have a simple evil nature, that we are capable of doing the various things we have also mentioned here, let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth. Well, is it possible for a person to join in with a world where how stories are told?
Even if it doesn't, tell them and talk to.
Them. Listen to them. Listen to them.
Well, we have a nature that can enjoy that kind of thing, so we need to be constantly on our guard. But here everything there's always a positive spirit, but that which is good through the use of edifying that it may minister great to hear should ever be ready to give a word.
That God can use his blessings to whether it's an unfazed.
One of God's children.
Real life exercise taking for the very.
The words and the don't we not, which is the connection with the that old nature on the 81St was 24th and the 29th verse the word. There is no corrupt communication for being out of their mouth.
Breathing not beholden Spirit of God providing your silence to their redemption. Even the thought and good thought raise this third of thought God's grace. We just told it you all, the Spirit of God never think well believers.
01:00:11
When you feel that that one or you feel them with a day of resentment, There is some you know that teach that we can grieve away the Spirit of God not to believe. The Spirit is a word that tells us that children here we're sealed on the day of redemption and that day of redemption.
The mom to the time when we'll get our glory for our body.
Already received but not our body. I suppose this is a different thought that we have in Thessalonians about my Jesus spirit claim the difference. Well, I think the connection there is just along him. The 5th chapter of first this long in the seems to be the connection. So the 18th bird or everything gives thanks for listening to the will of God.
Christ Jesus concerning you when's not spirit despise not prophecy, prove all things old fast actually good. Well, it seems to me is there more in a collective sense quenching the Spirit?
Spies on homicide, but that would be more than the Assembly if some brother would speak. And I didn't like like certain things about him, why I was despised what he said.
Well Quentin, the spirit would be that which would hinder operation Spirit God. Well, it seems to be breathing. The spirit here has more to do with my ways personally how I conduct myself raise the first thought. Well, that's what I get out of our brother Eric, the spirit of God in yourself.
Say it in a factful way. Oh the Spirit of God, just lay it on your heart.
Are for free after the morning Lord. Good morning leaving and you don't respond.
If you say that the question of spirit, I'm asking for information, well, I believe that would be on the I thought. But in the connection there in First Thessalonians, it was more a collective thing perhaps than others.
Yes, I mean, one could claim to themselves personally, but I didn't think that was there. But listen, it often seemed that there is law of black in the meeting where after brothers should have taken part fails to do it. We can pray that there might be the liberty of the Spirit.

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes will fall off, or made nigh by the blood of Christ. Verse 18. For through him we both have access by 1 Spirit unto the Father.
Writers, chapter 3 and the verse 9. Not by works of righteousness which we have done.
But according to his mercy, he saved us by the washing of regeneration.
And renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shared on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior. We've opened the meeting using this first scripture which refers to the blood of Christ.
That is the foundation of our every blessing. What would we have apart from the blood of Christ?
Shed for the remission of our sins at Calvary school, willing in this verse that we brought 9 through that precious blood. And you young people here enjoy the knowledge of this statement. Do you enjoy the fact that it conveys? Have you been brought?
Nigh through the precious blood of Christ can it to be said by you.
I am saved, I am brought nine. I was a fall off.
Sometimes we fear that we do not realize.
That.
We were a for all because you young people have been greatly favored and have come along with their parents in the meetings where the knowledge of God is known in a very large measure and in that case.
We often fail to realize the distance that exists between US and God, all that distance that was so great in my case.
And in the case of those years who have been saved the same as I have, that distance has been measured by the blood of Christ.
When nothing left than that would bring us nice, but we are broad nigh.
And we can rejoice in.
Right, if we know the Savior, if we have come to Him.
Sing through the blood of Christ that sins are washed away.
Now the blood of Christ is often belittled.
It was nice to know from the beginning of these meetings not the first hymn referred to the blood of Christ.
It's lightly esteemed in this world today, in the religious world even.
All we believe in blood when it's the question of plunging our tables with food.
And we believe in blood when it's a matter of regaining health at the hospital.
And we believe in blood that is the nation's due.
When it's a question of right?
As they see it on the battlefield.
But all when it comes to the precious blood of Christ.
They regard that as being non essential.
As a bundle of nonsense, even belittled. And they don't wish their children even the year above.
But old letter Value of graciousness of the blood of Christ shared for the remission of our sins.
At Calvary's cross, then let's notice the other words there, as we're open to the page for through him we both have access.
00:05:01
Verse 18.
By 1 Spirit unto the Father.
Now turn to.
Titus again.
In the Epistle to Titus.
Aged men are dressed.
The age of women too. The young women also.
And finally, the young men.
Though we have that which is instructive for us and the suitable.
And we begin in verse five of the third chapter, not by works of righteousness, which we've done.
But according to his mercy, he saved us.
Your children, many of you know that.
And we travel in our laborers for the Lord, and we come in contact with many different individuals on the bus, on the train.
And in daily contact with the moving multitudes in this land.
And our own.
And we rarely see anyone that's ready for a statement like this.
But you understand that you've been taught this truth, but not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to His mercy, He saved us.
If you've been taught that.
And certainly you have.
In the assembly of the Saints gathered to the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Replace value upon us. Does it mean much to you?
Not by works of righteousness which will have done, but according to His mercy.
You have Caesar see by God's grace and the mercy through the precious blood of Christ, and enjoying access by the Spirit of God to the Father, and this is by the washing of regeneration.
And renewing of the Holy Ghost.
Which He shared on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
All these expressions might seem to be difficult to you.
We are trying to be simple.
According to his mercy, He saved us by the washing of regeneration.
We get washing in the third chapter of John in the Water.
Necessary for the new birth.
And we get renewing or the third law referred to there. This is the truth of John Three, except it does go farther.
According to his mercy, He saved us by the washing of regeneration.
No, this world is moving toward the judgment.
The religious world is joining hands.
They're trying to gather all Christian professions.
Under 1 banner.
But they're ignoring the precious truths of the Word.
They are working with man as he is.
And if you bring man together?
However great it might appear to be in the eyes of the men of this world.
It's still nothing.
Because it's the principle of the word.
That no flesh or glory in the presence of the Lord.
This is necessary.
The working.
00:10:02
All three generation.
We have become new creatures in Christ Jesus. We belong to that new creation.
And the whole order of things will be changed because Jesus is the Lamb of God that took it away, the sin of the world.
We enjoy the knowledge of our sins being forgiven already.
But still we are in this world, and we often come in contact with sin.
And the activities of sin.
But oh, may the Lord keep you, dear young people.
In this position of privilege and favor that is yours through God's grace and these closing days of the church in history, the washing of regeneration.
And renewing of the Holy Ghost.
Which He shared on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.
This never happened before in the history of the world.
It has come to it has come to us in our day.
It's deprived of precious truth that we have in the word.
The renewing of the Holy Ghost that takes in the initial thing new birth and also the work of God in US as we read the precious words.
And yield in obedience to the Lord, and we grow in grace and in the knowledge of Himself.
Renewing of the Holy Ghost.
Which he shared on us abundantly. Sometimes we fail to appreciate the privilege, the position that is ours.
Through this precious.
The work of God's grace.
For the Lord Jesus died, and on the ground of what He accomplished at the Claw, the Holy Ghost has been shared on us abundantly.
People you know are sometimes concerned about whether or not they receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
That's true of us. We have.
Paul wrote to the Corinthians and they were 600 miles away from Jerusalem.
And about 30 years separated from Jerusalem in time.
But in that epistle he writes.
Well, we're baptized into one body by 1/3.
And that extends to you and to me today as we come into the knowledge of the Lord Jesus through the gospel, knowing that our sins are forgiven and that that we are indwelt upon the Spirit of God.
Now let's notice something else in the epistles of the Hebrews.
Chapter 9. We have some contrast in this chapter as we do in the whole book.
In verse one we see what they had in former days, that is before the days of Christianity.
Then there is the first covenant and also ordinances of divine service and a world of sanctuary.
That refers to the Tabernacle that was divided into two plots, as we see from verses 2:00 and 7:00.
And also.
We find in verse 6.
Allowed to, the police went always into the first Tabernacle.
Accomplishing the service of God.
They not only had the Tabernacle, the world is sanctuary and it was a beautiful thing.
And it was made according to divine instruction.
And these plates were consecrated to the work that they were doing.
And they could go into the first Tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God, that is, into the holy place.
00:15:05
They could go in performing the service that was theirs to do.
While you might think that was.
A very excellent arrangement.
And it was, for the time being. It was in that day a figure of the true thing that would come.
Verse 9, which was a figure for the time then present.
In which were offered both gifts and sacrifices.
But we see here.
And the rest of that verse 9.
That they could not make him a good disservice. Perfect.
As pertaining to the conscience.
Because of this kind of thing stood only in meats and drinks and divers washings and carnal ordinances.
And then we see verse 12. Neither by the blood of goats and the calves.
But by his own blood he entered into the in once into the holy place.
This is the Lord Jesus.
Having obtained eternal redemption for us.
So we see here.
That overall, these people.
And the worldly sanctuary, a divinely appointed service.
They did not enjoy.
A free and ready access into the presence of God.
Their priests could go in on their behalf.
And render service.
But it was only.
Our temporary arrangements.
And it was impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. That's what they had.
And in that order of things, they could not enjoy a perfect conscience.
Do you have a perfect conscience for yourself as you sit here and these seats this afternoon?
In your seat.
Do you have what? The scripture? The word of God?
Brings before us and this expression.
Has a perfect conscience, The courage to conscience. And in chapter 10 we read of those that had no more conscience of sin. What does this mean?
Well, it means this.
And perhaps it could be illustrated by the servant of the Lord that had a dream about his life.
He was dreaming, and in his dream the enemy of his school came with a large book of volume that was filled with writing from.
Indians page by page.
And he opened to this volume on the table in the presence of this man of God.
And with an excluding finger, he said. Here is a listing of your sins.
These are yours.
You can't deny them.
And this man looked on the pages, and there it was written against him.
A certain date, a certain sin at a certain place all the way through.
And I wasn't all because he got the second volume.
And he went through page by page, and there were many, many sins listed against this man of God.
00:20:01
And he said, is that all? And the enemy said no, there's still more. And he gets the 3rd and he goes into the 4th.
And finally, he says after this question by the servant, is that all that you have against me?
And Satan had to acknowledge that that was the total. That's all he said.
Now he says.
Take that pin acquittal and right across those volumes, these words, the blood of Jesus Christ his Son, cleanseth us from all sins.
He was undisturbed about everything that was listed against him.
Because he enjoyed a perfect conscience he had.
Are standing before God, that could not be touched even by the accuser of the brethren, for his sins have been washed away in the precious blood of Christ.
That we enjoy, of course. Now good conscience is a different thing.
And that's referred to in this epistle, also the first conscience.
The perfect conscience, and having no more conscience of sins, is connected with our perfect standing in Christ.
And the work that he has accomplished for us at the cross through that perfect sacrifice that he made.
In chapter 13 verse 18, Paul says pray for us.
What we trust, we have a good conscience.
And all things willing to live honestly.
There's good conscience is connected with our conduct.
And our state of soul and how we try to respond and do respond toward the precious Lord himself through the Word of God. And that is important young people in this world today.
That we seek, by God's grace, to be exercised before Him as to the maintenance of a good conscience.
That we might not make shipwrecks.
Of faith and depart from the truth.
Now coming back to Chapter 9 of Hebrews.
Let's notice.
A more positive side.
The precious things that we enjoy.
Oh, do not have a worldly Tabernacle or sanctuary.
And that.
Service that was in that day.
Still we have.
Already and free access.
Into the presence of God.
We have access by 1 spirit unto the farmer, and that's indicated in verse 8 by contrast.
The high priest that was forbidden or he could not go into the 2nd place except once every year. Verse 7. Not without blood.
Which he offered for himself and for the heirs of the people. The Holy Ghost of this signifies.
That the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest.
While it was the first Tabernacle was yet Daniel, there was no free ready access into the immediate presence of God.
But you and I enjoy that access today.
And we're told and chopped.
In having therefore, brethren, both to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.
By new and living way, which He has consecrated for us through the veil, that is to say, His flesh.
All his number of people.
And like those that have.
00:25:03
This precious fruit.
The method.
We enjoy.
The screen access to the bottom In Mark Gospel chapter 14 we find the Lord in the garden. Praise ABBA Father, he could do that. The Holy Spirit came down and abode upon him as he came up from the waters of baptism.
But the disciples couldn't just pick up that cry of Emma Farmer at that time.
On all of that awaited the accomplishment of the work of redemption at the cross. That awaited the shedding of the precious blood of Christ for the remission of our sins.
Without awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit.
God gives us God, blessed One, who gives us the cry of adoption, whereby we cry.
ABBA father Roman Reigns and also in Galatians 4.
Now, dear young people, we don't find these things in the religious world.
There's little expression of this.
Enjoyment of the truth that has given us in this chapter.
They're not in the good of us.
They don't have or enjoy the language of adoption.
Above.
Form and so many don't have a knowledge.
Of sin forgiven.
They don't realize what it is to have a perfect conscience.
Because you are favored what the full truth of the word and.
You inquire of those who meet all you save and usually is adult Lansing.
They say I hope so. They don't enjoy.
The knowledge of the eternal redemption. For we do.
You've been brought into a silvered place.
Where the word of God?
Is understood through God's grace we receive the precious Word, the knowledge of it as connected with God the Father and the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, our figure.
And you come along with those who gather simply.
Around that blessed one in the men.
Now we have a word.
In the 13th chapter and let's read that verse.
Verse 13.
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
These believers were still connected with that old order of things and Judaism.
And the apostle urges them to leave it.
He engages their attention with the better things that they had in Christ.
And we find in the religious world that which answers to Judaism.
We're already in. Free access to the Father is not enjoyed where they do not have what we know is the perfect conscience, and where they do not realize the eternal portion and the security that belongs to God's children.
Well, then, we are urged to go forth from that kind of thing.
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
They're not little flocks. The Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. You know we don't have to be associated with anything that's big in order to please the Lord.
00:30:08
It's a little flock.
We wouldn't say that we're not necessarily, but in the things of God.
That which is according to the word.
Negotiating is on the weaker side of the picture.
You know Peter.
As.
He turned to the Lord. He resisted the Lord, you know, on the 16th of Matthew.
The Lord had to say to him that he savored of the things that were of men.
Not the things that were of God.
You see, he was resisting the Lord as to his.
Going through Jerusalem to be crucified, his rejection, you know, and the religious world, there's that which savers of man.
We need to be separated from it. Let us go forth, therefore unto Him without the camp. We need to go away, to be separated from that order of things, so we can enjoy these precious schools that God has given us in His Word. But let us be sure to.
That it's on to him.
Unto the Lord Jesus.
Because we'll be disappointed otherwise. But over the Lord is before your soul, and it should be, because everything is centered in Him. All this blessedness of which we've been speaking is in that blessed 1 The glorious Person of Christ and the work of redemption that He accomplished at the cross.
In Acts 20, we are.
The older, the young man who was in meeting, they had met, you know, for the breaking of bread. It was a special occasion and Paul was speaking.
And he continued to speak until midnight, and this young man became granted.
Or he was in a place of favor, and certainly he was outside the camp.
Because at two ends we don't read the synagogue and they were breaking bread. They were in the knowledge of the truth as we know it and enjoyed in our souls. But we went to sleep.
All young people.
Be sure that you value.
The place that is yours.
That can be yours. That can be yours.
An association with our blessed season, the despised and rejected one. Do not to be afraid.
To bear his reproach and to go on for him. You're in this world that nailed him to that tree. The little while that remains, you'll have God's blessing in this, as we had it before yesterday.
God's blessing is in connection with his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and though what a privilege it is to have that access to the farm, to be able to take up that cry of adoption, to use it freely according to the relationship that we enjoy as God's children being able to.
Save ABBA Farms.
And to have a perfect conscience as to all our past history or as to all it might come up that's been settled, the Lord Jesus.
Went to that cross and who they undertook for my needs as a Sinner before a Holy Ghost. And you can rest upon that without most peace.
Being undisturbed and secure and certain about the future, and then we can enjoy.
00:35:05
To that precious portion that we have.
In that redemption.
That he.
Has accomplished and is an eternal redemption.
Oh, we can thank God for what He has done in His grace through the Lord Jesus Christ, bringing us into such favor and privilege and blessing through His mercy.

You turn with me for a moment.
Through one verse in the 13th chapter of.
Acts Chapter 13.
And verse 36.
For David.
Asked if he had saved his own generation by the will of God.
Fell on sleep and was laid unto his father.
And star corruption.
For David asked her. She had paid his own generation by the will of God.
And then one other verse in the 24th chapter of Matthew Gospel.
Matthew, Chapter 24.
And verse 36.
But of that day and our knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
And as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark.
And knew not until the flood came and took the mall away.
So shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.
And then lastly in the third chapter of the 2nd epistle to Peter.
Second Peter, chapter 3.
This second epistle, beloved.
I now write unto you in both, which I stir up your pure mind by way of remembrance.
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days stoppers walking after their own lust.
And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continuously were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water, and in the water, whereby the world that then was being overplayed with water perished.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now by the same word, are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and tradition of ungodly men. But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord. It's 1000 years and 1000 years of one day.
The Lord is not flat concerning his promise, as some men count blackness.
That is long-suffering to upward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to attention. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. The earth also in the works that are therein, shall be burned up.
Being then that all these things shall be dissolved.
Manner of persons ought you to be in all holy consultation and godliness.
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire, shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent peace, Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteous. Wherefore, beloved, being that you, look for such things?
The diligence that you may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless, and the count that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation, even as our beloved Paul, brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto him, hath written unto you.
As also in all new peoples taking the exam of these things, in which are some things hard to be understood.
Which they that are unlearned and unstable, rest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
00:05:06
You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest He also being LED away with the error of the wicked, all from their own said person, but growing great and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For Him the glory both now and forever. Amen. In the verse which we read firstly in Acts chapter 13.
You'll notice how it says.
In the 36th verse 4, David asked if he had served his own generation well. What we had before. The love of this afternoon is particularly for those who are young.
Purpose of this meeting is for the young people and it seemed to one's long stole and meditating a little bit about these passages that they had before us this afternoon. How fitting it is that we should comment first of all about our own generation.
We're young people. I'm speaking now to those who are the Lord. You have been placed here in this generation. And just as David served his generation by the will of God, so you and I are called upon to serve our generation by the will of God. But there are certain things that are characteristic of our generation, yours and mine, this generation in which we live.
Today, in this very day, and with your lot and my lot is passed, there are certain things that are peculiar.
To this generation, and this has a marked effect upon how we conduct ourselves.
According to what has been brought before us in the third chapter of Second Peter, what a privilege it is for you and I that belong to Christ to serve our generation according to the will of God.
But what is so special, And I trust those who are older will pardon me, putting it this way, what is so special about our generation? What's your generation and mine? What is so special about this day in which you and I live?
Oh dear young people, there is one thing that is very special about it, and that is that you and I have been privileged to live to be here, to serve our generation according to the will of God, on the very brink of the Lord's return, and on the very brink of the time when this world is to be judged in righteousness.
By that man whom he has ordained you notice how in second Peter three, in the first third verse it says, knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days offers walking after their own lusts.
And saying, where is the promise of his coming? Where is the promise of his coming?
Just recently at company where I work in Cleveland, one of the vice presidents of the company sent a memorandum over to me. And this memorandum had to do with something that he never expected to see, a change of events in the company that he thought would never take place. And he put a comment on the side of the letter.
He said this is just like the second coming of the Messiah. All you know, beloved, when I read that, I couldn't help thinking of what we have right here.
In the last days suffer shall come, saying, Where is the promise of His coming?
This world likes to think that they are going to be able to go on their own way without any intervention from God at all, that the Lord is going to allow them to go on as it says in me. Matthew 24, marrying and giving in marriage, eating and drinking completely heedless.
Of the Lord's claim, and they like to think as it tells us in this.
This verse for this they willingly are ignorant of. They want to be ignorant, they want to go on in their own way and leave God claims out entirely. Well what we have before us here dear young people, seems to ones old soul is a definition or a picture of your generation and mind. This is where and when we live.
00:10:16
In this day when the stompers are here, when the people are here saying where is the promise of coming? When the people Live Today in your generation and mine, the ones that you go to school with, the ones that you go to work with, the ones who are your neighbors and friends, that they want God to intervene. No, they do not. They want the world to be allowed to go on always and.
They're willingly ignorant. They don't want.
But know of what God has ahead for this world. But dear young people, you and I do know. You and I do know, because God has told us in His Word.
Clearly, so each one of us can understand those of us that belong to Christ. God has seen fit to outline His plan for us so that we do know that when our neighbors, when our souls with whom we go to school, those with whom we work, when all their plans, all their hope, their aspirations, their ambitions, everything that they hope for in the future is.
All centered down here. You and I know according to God's own Word that this is all going to disappear at this whole scene around the around. This is all going to be burned up. We know it because God has told us so in His Word. He has laid it out for a soul that we can understand.
Now the question is, how do we conduct ourselves while we wait for the Lord to take us the glory? How do we conduct ourselves knowing what is ahead for this poor world? You notice it says in the sixth verse whereby the world that then was being overflowed with water perished, but the heavens and the earth, which are now by the same word, are kept in store.
Unto fire against the day of judgment and tradition of ungodly man, beloved young people.
You and I, we have had three days of precious ministry over the Word of God. We have had our hearts directed more and more towards our precious failures. It is very rare for us ever to come together, for the Lord people ever to come together, even in a reading meeting at home.
That somewhere during the 4th of the meeting, some references made to the Lord's return. Some references made to what we look forward to. The coming of the Lord Jesus will take us to glory. But the scene around us has no such hope.
Those who whom we come in contact day by day, they have no such hope. They refuse to accept the lesson that God has already recorded. In the days of Noah, here was a scene when people were living as if God had did not exist. They were conducting themselves without any reference to God at all.
And God said the flood would come, and they went on their own way just the same, and the flood came according to the word of God.
It came as God said it would. But now in this day, God has again warned faithfully to His word by the judgment is coming for this world. Judgment is coming. He is going to judge this world in righteousness. All this fair scene that we see around this is going to be utterly destroyed. And yet there are young people, men and women again, the ones that you know and I know the ones that we need day by day.
The ones that you're going to meet tomorrow when you go back to the office and go back to school, go back to business. Those very ones, they are heedless of God's faithful warning and love to their souls. They refuse to accept the solemn truth of what we have in this chapter, that this scene is all going to pass away.
In the meantime, in the meantime, dear young people, it seems to one own soul that while this is true.
While the software's are here, while there are those around us go mock and say where is the promise of His coming, and are heedless of the precious truth that God is long-suffering to us. Word not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to His country. While God in faithfulness and in love is waiting and pleading and calling, and man goes on his own way, refusing to accept.
00:15:19
Lesson that God gave us in Noah and again refusing to accept the faithful morning that God gives now according to his words. This you and I now in our generation, dear young people, we're called upon in this atmosphere, in an atmosphere where the stoppers live, in an office where the scoffers exist, where there are those around us that have no love for the Lord Jesus at all and no.
Our focus is coming and refusing to accept the faithful warnings that God gives us in His Word.
It's in this atmosphere, in this game, dear young people, that you and I are called upon to serve our generation according to the will of God.
And so you notice it says, But the day of the Lord will come, the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervently the earth also in the works that are therein shall be burned up. This is God solemn declaration.
This will come to pass here, young people, young Saints of God.
In our generation, how we speak and how we conduct ourselves with those who are around us, let us remember that this is the truth of God, that while the Lord Jesus has waited 2000 years, while that promised judgment has not yet fallen on the world.
We have the solemn, authoritative statement of the Word of God.
That the day of the Lord will come, That day which brings judgment to this poor benighted world, that day which ushers in all the storm of judgment that is going to fall upon this world, that day will come. And dear young people, as a child of God, God would have you and I know this truth. Believe it, accept it because God says so. This is the truth of God. It will.
According to his prom. But now for that which is particularly before one soul, you notice in the very next verse, in the 11Th verse, if we could put it this way, there, young people, this is our generation. This is the generation in which you and I live. Those ones with whom you're going to sit down at school tomorrow or next week. You look at them when you sit down with them and bear in mind that what we're reading about.
Chapter What we're reading about this solemn storm of judgment is coming from this world. You look into their faces tomorrow and realize that according to God's own word, it is very likely that those very young people, those very fool come to yours will please take place in their generation. This is when we live. This is when we're called upon to be a testimony for the Lord in.
As this storm of judgment is just waiting to break over those who are around, well, God says here, seeing them, that all these things shall be dissolved.
What manner of person ought we need to be in all holy conversation, and gotten all dear young people, dear young Saints of God, with this solemn, solemn truth, with the solemn realization?
That this world in which you and I live, that our generation is hasting on towards judgment, hastening on toward a scene of God's awful, righteous judgment against him. This generation, those whom you know and I know, this is what is before them.
How are we the conductor in town? How are we dear young people, to conduct ourselves? Are we to conduct ourselves at the office? Are we going to go along with those in their ways? Are we going to mix with them as if it didn't matter very much what we did or what they did? Are we going to take the stand that we are in this world?
And so we have to get along as best we can.
00:20:00
Oh, I've heard that said problem. You have to. And we're in this world and we have to get through it the best way we can. Don't we just go along with the proud? No, dear young Saints of God, in, in view of what this generation has before them, in view of the solemn judgments that are going to fall upon those who are around us. Oh, May God give you and I the great.
The courage, the grace, and the wisdom, and the subjection to his precious words to serve our generation by the will of God. And as it says here to carry on, it says, what manner persons ought you to be in all holy conversation. And Goddess, you'll notice if we go through this chapter, if we have time.
That this expression, seeing them or seeing that appears three times in this chapter.
It seems to me that there's a slightly different emphasis or different point each time here. In this first point, it has to do with those who are around it in all holy conversation and godliness in our contact with those other young people with whom we come in contact.
All dear young Saints of God, are there, those that you and I know, those who are near to us, those whom we come in contact with. And we know that this solemn truth that we have in this chapter is God's word. And we haven't told them. We haven't told them. We haven't told those who are around us about what lies ahead.
Have we given them the faithful warnings that God has revealed to us in His precious words?
This knowledge that He has given to you, dear young St. of God, is precious. He would have you to know what His purposes and plans are, but He is also responsibility for His people to remember that if we serve our generation according to the will of God, may we have grace from Himself to warn that generation of this solemn storm of judgment that lies ahead.
For those that live without Christ. For those.
Who refused to acknowledge the faithful warnings of the Word of God. Seeing then that these things will come to pass, that we know this to be the truth of God, since we know it. May, brethren, you and I, and I say this particular to myself, may we have grace from him, from the Lord Himself, to serve our generation according to the will of God.
And to conduct ourselves with holy conversational godliness.
That those who are around us might know that we know there is a difference between the saved and the young trees, but there is a difference between those who know the more that are looking forward to the glory and this poor world and is pasting on to this very day that we've been reading of the day of the Lord. You notice how it says looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God.
In the heavens, being on fire, shall be dissolved, the elements shall melt with fervent peace. Nevertheless we, according to its promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein while its righteousness. I wonder, my friends, and I say this to myself particularly.
Do your thumbs at school, the ones with whom you work, those who are at this office with you, your neighbors and friends and my neighbors, the people that I come in contact with, do they know that I'm looking for a new heaven?
And in Newark, wherein dwells like, Oh dear young Saints of God forsaken, the enemy of your soul and mind is so successful in getting our hearts and our ambitions and our hope all centered in something that is going to be dissolved, something that's going to disappear. We can get we get our eyes off Christ. We can get ourselves so occupied with things down here.
Especially when we're young.
All we see is right from the very time the children start the school, how everything that the world tells them is to get their thoughts and their hearts and their hopes and their ambitions all centered down here. And God says it's all going to be the God. It's all going to disappear. It's all going to be removed. And we look for a new heaven and a newer.
Wherein wall of life still young people? Is this what they look for?
Is this what you and I are looking for? Is this what we're looking forward to, or are we looking for something down here? Are we looking for a better house, a better job? Oh, there's one of the mayors of the level, if there ever was one. A better job, be able to make a little bit more money, be able to have a few more of the luxuries of life as they speak to them.
00:25:20
Without stopping to weigh how much those luxury costs and the enjoyment of the Lord and in devotional tremendous dear young people, what we had before here is.
That if this is what we're looking for. We say that you're longing to be Lord something we speak of the new heavens and the new earth were indwelled like this. But how it goes around those who immune to young people and I our own generation. How did they see it going on? You know you'll hear the world pretty well.
It's all right when you're older. It's all right when you're old and you're tired. And it's all right then to be thinking about eternity and thinking about what comes after death.
But when you're young, when you've got the world before you, when you've got everything to live for, you ever heard this said you're young people, everything to live for? Of this, what we have here in this chapter is what this world has to look forward to according to the word of God.
According to the word of God. And when God warns them that this is what's coming, I refuse to listen. Just if he warned when the flood was coming and they received. But you and I know it to be the truth. You and I know that this is lost now it says, nevertheless, we according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein? Well, it's like this. Wherefore, beloved?
Being that he looked for thee.
Be diligent that you may be found of sin in peace without spot influence.
Oh, it seems to one's own soul one's neither qualified nor who has led to try to give an exposition of this chapter, but it seems to one's own soul here that we have that with traps which speak to us of our own personal walk, and we might be found of him in peace without spot complaining. We have that knowing that all these things will take place.
And we might be those who are characterized by holy conversation in God's and now, since we look for the new heavens of the new earth.
We own by our confessions for young people, since we own by our confession that we don't belong to this earth at all, that we belong to glory, that we're waiting and longing for the Lord to turn. Since we look for a new heavens and a new earth and have nothing to be attached to down here because it's all going to be resolved. All this is what we speak of.
Made love of those who are coming to come in contact with.
May they see in our own personal watch that we're walking to plead the law that we might be found of him or dear young people found of him. May you and I remember that little clause found of him. You know, I remember a a brother who cleared this afternoon making a comment years ago that I'd never forgotten. He said when a brother gets out of community, when a brother gets away from the Lord and he wants.
Do something and he's got a bad conscience about it. The first thing he does is he goes around to try and find some other brother who will tell him it's OK, He'll hunt until he finds some brother that says that's okay, there's nothing wrong with it. And then he feels to leave so that he can do it. But this says that we might be found of him, of him always in that crisis, and we might be found of him.
In peace, without spot and blank, even when our brethren don't see even what goes around and outside don't see it all.
Old brother, brethren, we know these things. We look for a new heavens and a new earth. We don't speak, but we shouldn't speak something down here. We long for the larger time. We know what the head for the store, the nighted world. But oh, may you and I again, may I, and may you and I both, in serving our generation according to the will of God.
May you and I have grace to be found of Him, Found of him, beloved, the young people found of him. Don't be concerned if the other young people don't see it the same way you do.
Must be found of Him. Let before the Lord about your own pathways, about what you're going on with and what I'm going on with. May we be for the Lord individually as to our own pathways, and we might be found of Him without spot at speech and plan. The 15th was an account that the long-suffering our law of our Lord is salvation.
00:30:19
Even as our beloved Paul, brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto him.
Written on TV all brethren, I tell you I enjoyed this verse. You know that's how in the in the ninth group it says the Lord is not black concerning his promises. Some men count blackness, but it is long-suffering to us not willing that any should cherish, but that all should come to the temple for now, you and I.
In serving our generation, we look for the Lord to come. We look for the Lord to take us out of the sea. They look for that judgment that we know is going to come upon this world.
After were taken home the boy, but let us account the long substance of God. Let us account the long-suffering of our Lord and sounded brethren, it's a wonderful thing for you and I as Christians to look forward to the Lord coming so long for his coming day by day to get up each morning with the realization that perhaps today that this will be the day when the Lord but if the Lord.
If the Lord chooses to wait yet seven days more, if the Lord chooses to wait for just another seven days, that those who are still heedless to his warnings might be warned again, might be given another invitation, might be entreated again to come and put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. All beloved, may you and I have.
Common thoughts, as it were.
God about this delay that we might have counted long-suffering of salvation that we might not think of it. Remember how it says about the wicked servant. He says so my Lord delay us is coming. Oh dear Saints of God as the if the Lord does carry and the Lord has waited many years now many many years. We believe you and I I'm sure if I took anyone in this company that belongs to Christ.
Would agree that his coming is near. His coming is eminent. Our brother Bill used to say he's coming in imminent. But in the meantime, may we have the greatest to enter into God's thoughts about this waiting time. At this long-suffering means salvation. He is not flat concerning his promise or he is waiting.
Not willing that any.
Should come to attention.
Why you notice in the 17th verse? We therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things. First of all, it said seeing that all these things shall be dissolved and then indeed what 14 first feeling that you look for section now it says in the 17th, 1St year. Therefore, beloved, do you know these things? People in the 16th verse perhaps I skipped over that.
As also in all his official, his officials speaking in demo things in which are some things hard to be understood.
Which they that are unworn and unstable, rest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved me, know these things before all the faithfulness of our God and Father, to warn us that these things happen to our young people, while the Lord carries, while He waits, while that storm of judgment is suspended over this generation in which you and I live.
This generation that we're called upon to serve.
The danger is that there are both who rise up to restrictive and pride lean others away. And there's a danger for the young Saints of God that being LED away to of being LED away to by those who would restrictions to their own destruction of their young people if they're waiting.
For the Lord, if we're longing for His coming, and if we're willing and ready to serve our generation according to the will of God. And what we have in the last verse is that which should occupy our hearts until He comes in. Notice our time is gone.
But in the last verse, but growing grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all dear young people. I tell you it fills my heart and I know it thrills many of the Lords people here. It's these young people coming to these meetings.
00:35:00
To see young people sitting in the reading meetings where the truth of God is ministered, where the Spirit of God is free to take His truth and minister to us that we might grow in great and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
For young people today, in the world in which you and I live, everyone is speaking after knowledge. Oh, I don't believe it's ever been a day when knowledge has been put on such a pinnacle as it is today. Right in the office where I work, there are dozens of people that are already working in such good jobs, and they're studying as hard as they can to get more knowledge, to gain more education, to learn more.
Dear young people, this is a generation that you and I live, but generation that has exalted the God of knowledge. But you and I would go on to the law and knowledge that we want to grow in is the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Peace all, beloved. We will find it only in His word. We will find it and only being occupied with the one who loved us and died for the one who is.
You're finished, the one who has saved you and I, the one who loved being occupied with Him. Searching this book from cover to cover to find more about Jesus, more about our classic Savior, more of his ways, more of His purposes, more of His glory. It's all here for sure, young people. And the more we're occupied with Him, the more we're going to be kept from all the players around.
But maybe just go back over this chapter for just one moment before we close.
The burden was upon one's own heart and for one's own walking ways is that we have been put in this world. To the young people who have been put here in the year 1964, in Toronto or in Cleveland. Orange is some little place, some little meeting or some live meeting, but you can put there to serve your generation according to the will of God. And may you and I have breaking the Lord.
Knowing this generation would be laid.
Knowing that this poor world and our generation all around us is hasting on to this terrible being, may you and I have grace from the Lord they young people, to serve our generation according to the will of God. But since we know these things are going to happen, since God says we know them.
May that holy concentration in Godman do that which others see if we look for the new heavens and a new earth. May there be that in our personal walk before the Lord, and we might be found of Him, dear young people, without spot and blame, and while we know that there are those around us who would rest disrepute in our own destruction.
May you and I be kept here, young Saints of God.
Growing in great and in the knowledge of our Lord and Spirit. Or I couldn't help thinking as I was meditating on this chapter, how the difference between the elements which will melt with fermenting and all these things will be resolved, and the precious failure who is the same yesterday and today and forever.
You know, I was thinking, thinking about some of the things that go on at school.
A child goes to school and spends 2 years learning something to school. This is a doctor, for instance. They'll go to college and he'll learn 234 years. This is the way to do this realistic. And by the time he's out of college, it's all changed. Is something new, something different. They don't use that thing at all anymore.
This is what happens to man's knowledge, and it's all going to end up in this whole scene is all. But there is a knowledge that will last for all eternity. The one whom we know and love, the love of young people, our own precious Savior, the one who's the same yesterday and today and forever. And may you and I have the grace just to speak day by day to grow indeed.
And the knowledge of our long agent.
