Think about breathing into the next chapter.
How far?
I thought of the 1St, 7th birthday.
00:10:02
We're trying to.
In the body of his plan through them to prevent you fully monopoly and unapproved in his fight.
If you continue in the faith ground unsettled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel which she occurs, and her preached every preacher which is under heaven for all I fall and made a minister.
Now rejoice in my suffers for you. I'm still up after his behind of the affliction of Christ in my words for his body shape, which is the Church for all our maiden ministers, according to this temptation of God, which is given to me for you to fulfill the word of God.
In the mystery, which has been kids from ages and majorities.
But now it made manifest to his face his own God will make no What is the richest or withdrawing this mystery among the Gentiles were killed. Christ in you the hope of glory.
So we preach warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom to be represent every man person is in Christ Jesus.
Well do I also labor driving according to his work which worketh in need? Might be chapter 2.
For all word that you knew was great conflict I have for you, and available at this year, and as many as of not in my face, in the flesh, but their hearts make it comfortable. They live together in love under all riches of the foolish original understanding to the acknowledgement of the mysteries of all and of the Fathers and the Christ.
In whom I hid all the treasures of wisdom and promise.
From this library that any match of the God with enticing word for the Lord, the average in the flesh in the mind miss you of the Spirit.
Joy and the holier order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
As he has therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord.
So walking in brilliant and built up in him and established in the faith.
As they have been called a boundary with sanction.
Where is any mouth for you? True philosophy and vain deceit, as the tradition of nature after the element of the world, and not after Christ.
There's a myth. It's the question of human beings, even believers at the 23rd.
No, it was considering the Lord.
23rd.
Jennifer.
Is cutting off the work of Christ?
You have to remember their incentives between the work of Christ before us and the work of the Spirit of God in US. And it's the word right for us. So if whatever that's that's a complete final word. I'm thinking as you were reading this, brother Ginya.
How definitely the Spirit of God brings the death of Christ.
Over all the philosophies that we try to explain a way of whether no the Lord has a real human body or not.
00:15:08
So I've had a visa here and even arithmetic these days well kept your shoulders, but he was a real man.
The body of his flesh had a body of flesh by killing me and through death showing that the one who became a real man, this seed, the one who died on the cross, in order to complete this work and to bring us.
Into all the souls of laughing.
That is spoken of unblameable and unrecoverable in his sight.
We decided that the death of Christ is the end of all that we were as natural men for in the 409 became irritated in his mind, and then artful. Going on in his sins, he got farther and farther away from God. The work of Christ not only took up the question of our sins, but this is beautiful in the body of His flash through death.
Because the death of Christ is the end of our standing in the first Adam. And so it says to present you wholly. That's the nature we have a nature now by which we can enjoy all that's in the heart of God and make sure that delights and holiness.
And unblameable and unrecovable not only our sins, God, you know the present, but how wonderful this thing that we will that we have a nature perfectly suited to that scene of glory which we are soon to enter. And so I believe the thought of holy has to do with the nature and then unbelievable and unrecovable. No charge can be laid against us because the work of Christ has.
Several sins too.
I like the way the little hen puts it, the look within and see no stains abroad, no curse to trade which had no tears to be a little pain, but see these face to face. I just like to say it all and I believe it. The truth of reconciliation.
Is so important for us, and if we get hold of us, we'll see that when we enter there, it will not be a strange place. We have already been reconciled. They were all strangers. God shall make faith.
The diary says we should never weaken the if the scripture.
We have an important.
California may be just a mere professor.
All of our young people brought up in the truth heard the gospel.
And.
They have gone through no exercise.
It might be just.
Rest in fall for faith, never having really accepted prices, their favor, never having really been thought present about their sins. well-being kids are intended to disturb those in such a condition.
I was told of a young lady of brother said to her.
That are you saved?
Why? I noticed it. Well, you said, can you quote John 316 to me? He quoted it right off. He learned some funny schools to play it perfectly because he didn't believe it. Why? Certainly, he says. Why then he says, you're saying.
Well it's all the brothers been meeting about this young lady that had accepted the Lord and the Baptizers to replace the Lords table. Later on she had a very severe illness, played low and this young woman got into the presence of God and discovered that she was a foreign Law Center and was truly.
Brought to respect Christ as her personal failure.
00:20:00
Well, there may be money and not faith that's not at work as well as intended to exercise.
All we need to remember that the scripture never would exercise or form a doubt in the minds of anyone who is have truly come to Christ and is trusting in that blessed one will know the value of the shed blood of Christ. Shifter never was raised upon that was for a moment.
Bring up here for doubt, the mind is but but for any who are just mere professors, and they there may be many among us that means that have just a word to disturb their consequences. Have we ever really been in the presence of God? Have we ever really felt our needs of a failure?
If I just agree with that Brother Eric yes, the gift here then was the question of whether it was a real work of the Spirit of God or a mere profession. It would fly. One would just a mere profession. Why they would not continue, but where there was a real word for God, it wouldn't be any question answer.
Not the same thing in the beginning of the third chapter.
Are you riding of Christ? Well then you're going to seek those things that are above. But if you're not, but you see things on earth.
It isn't a question of the.
One who has really been born again continuing, but one who has not.
In this puppy third verse if he continued in the faith.
It doesn't say if they continue in faith with someone. Explain that to us for the sake of the art. I'm curious and I think you have in your mind that would be helpful.
Well, would it be the truth and the revelation to the?
That has been presented 2 hours in God words four things to lay hold of. Would that be in there?
Or is it the deeper than that? Wouldn't you say that when the?
But it's more of a the doctrine, but it's it's not just stopping health intellectually, but if a doctrine or the truth held in the world and faith. That's why I believe it's it's doctrine, but elderly.
Every hour they were gone.
There there's No 5 distinction between these faiths and faith. Faith is believing what God has shown in His Word.
That's all right. The first chance of Luke and the first verse.
Without help.
Or as much as many have taken in time to set forth an order of declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us.
Even if they delivered among us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the world.
On the Apostle Paul says, I have kept the faith, I bought the good fight. Well, that was what had been committed to him. He had conducted his life accordingly and practically laid down his life.
The footnote in the new translation is or in faith that is in full assurance of heart in the gospel. I believe it's important to that it's in the heart. It's not just in the head and how we know that it's in the heart. Well, one has enjoyed that little first and first Peter chapter 2 unto you, therefore, which believe he is precious.
00:25:12
And if one has really believed in his heart, the Lord Jesus is precious to him. It says in First Corinthians 16, if any man loves not our Lord Jesus Christ, let him be enough of Maranatha, that is, let him be a curse, the Lord cometh. I mentioned that because there might be a young believer here this afternoon and he wondered, do I believe in my head, or do I believe in my heart?
I confess that it bothered me as a young man, but that verse has been a great help to me. The way that we know whether it's in the heart is that the heart goes out in affection to the person of the Lord Jesus. And if you are really his, you have a nature that enjoys the presence of God. You have a nature that responds to the precious name of the Lord Jesus. He's precious to you.
And if not?
You only have profession and.
I might say to you that there's one thing that a real believer cannot do. He can never give up or deny Christ. And that's why it says if he continue in the faith, continue once is the proof of reality and a real Christian never forgive up Christ.
Is then part.
And then there elsewhere the obedience of faith, to read in the first chapter Rome, the obedience of faith to all nations. If there is true faith, there is a desire in the heart to do those things. That is our phasing to the one who stages.
For when all partners were sticking down on the road to the back at hater despisers.
Of the Lord Jesus, the first thing you said is, Lord, possible thou have me to do.
All there was a divine nature there desired to do the will of the Lord or when one is true is born again. Why you'll be let me have a desire now to please let me that have pleasant and you're not trusting in.
I have. I have thought it might be helpful.
You'll consider these kinds of tips because there there are other kinds of disks.
Where there's no uncertainty about it, but in these kinds of gifts that.
They belong to the wilderness testing.
And they do prove that you suggested that a hole the reality.
Now in the eighth of John, verse 32.
A word 31 I should say.
The Warriors said.
I believe he still.
Address things sound very questionable ones in this chapter eight of my yes verse 13 the Pharisees notice they were following him in the way and there were others that were following him.
No, he said to those Jews. That's the point right there, He said to those Jews which believed on him.
I believe that there's a mere outward profession. They're bleeding, he says. If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed?
Chapter 6 shows that there are those that the Lord Jesus knew were not free for in verse 34.
And 64, he said. But there are some of you that believe not.
Or Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him.
00:30:09
Verse 66. From that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him.
Now that was proving that they were not continuing.
And that they were not real.
So the itch of that sort are testing that are here in the wilderness. Now to prove the reality again, let us look in Hebrews chapter 3.
And verse.
14.
For we are made partakers of Christ is we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast down to the end.
Now there's another of that sort that if we are to continually through that there is reality with us.
In the case of the Colossians, the apostles.
Knew the circumstances of these philosophies and fleshly religions that were around them.
And he assures them in verse 23 that if he continues in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away.
Like many philosophies from the hope of the gospel which you have heard and which is preached to every creature, and so on.
At first, bring them the First Ministry of.
I mentioned yesterday, I think it was.
As we get 3 double S in this first chapter of Colossians, we get 2 head ships. We get 2 reconciliations.
And then we get 2 ministries.
Well, we've been considering.
The two hedges today, the two reconciliations, and now we're coming to the two ministries.
And the end of this 23rd verse.
Be there with your earth and with you for free to every creature which is under heaven, whereof I, Paul, made a minister.
So all that man, a minister of the gospel.
To carry the precious message of foundation.
Wherever he found sinners in this world, no longer was God's grace in any way confined to one nation like Israel, but it was sent out to a whole world of lost sinners.
Paul had a special permission to carry that gospel, and we can see how mightily God used him in connection with the gospel for those cities in Asia, over in Europe, Macedonian, Greece.
For the four of the waivers of the Apostle Paul carrying the gospel to leave Heathen City.
In the fifth verse we have the truth of the Gospel.
In verse 23 we have the hope of the gospel. I'd like to discuss, given that I'm not appearance quite clear on it myself.
Well, here we finally get a naughty question. We ask whether errors when we get help.
00:35:01
By far, that's going all, though.
Well, I would say the truth of the gospel in that sense word Robert, I would say that the truth of the gods when that fifth verse refers to what we have in Christ, in that he said, I am the truth, the way, and the light and the truth is the God who is set before all we might say the facts to the gospel.
Well, on the hope of the God, who would seem to me refer to more than that when she had awakened the fulfilling her, which goes beyond this scene.
It was a certain things that are for this life and that's what is yet to come.
Connection with this which is preached to every preacher which was preached to every preacher which is under heaven.
It is not the mind of God that there should be a special effort for one nation only either. Whatever the gospel is preached, it should be for all. The Lord Jesus said, 55 He lifted up from the earth, till it will draw all men unto me.
And I believe in these days where there is a tendency toward nationalism and efforts made in connection with one nation, we should never forget that the gospel is for whosoever will. And if you open the place to preach the gospel, don't make it out to be a mission to some particular nation, it's to whosoever will. In the end of the Acts, we see Paul.
Is that he received all. Amen unto him.
He had spoken to the Jews. They had rejected it. Now the door was open, and whosoever will, and I believe this is the present position of the testimony of the gospel in the world, it is for whosoever will, regardless of their nationality.
I don't have enjoyed the clothes in the second chapter of Mars about the the four that took that man that was sick of the policy for the Creek of the Lord Jesus is a type of the Holy Spirit going to the fore corner of the earth to bring full Sinner to the feet of the Lord Jesus. I have enjoyed that talk. You know the fall that took the man speak with the policy at the feet of the same. I believe that it's a type of the Holy Spirit.
Going to the forefront of the earth to bring forth sinners to the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. We only want that is able to benefit.
Following connection with their being different nations.
Well, the different nations don't approach problems for Spain and it has been said for instance, that the Latins don't think like the Anglo-Saxon. In fact not long royal brother in South America he referred to that, but they were inclined to be a little more impulsive. Well the answer was that we have one by the law and we have one Teacher, the Holy Spirit.
Well, it's been marvelously proven that the gospel of the needs of every nation, every.
Every color, no matter what their circumstances may be.
God will have been carried in the way Isles of the Seas where they were cannibals from a low cannibals came straight forward of the Lord Jesus. I read in the light upon the heart thing upon a man that led him to a cave, where he showed him the tile of human born.
Any hope for a man like that?
Then he he assured him that Christ came to faith sinners the preach the gospel of that man. He was saved.
Or true that whether it's accountable or whether it's the, whether it's the king or the queen, it's the same gospel for one and all.
I think it was Prince Albert the wife, the husband of Queen Victoria, and he was on his deathbed, someone remarked to him what a mortal man was, what a fine life he lived.
00:40:15
What a wonderful Prince he had been, he replied. I'm not paid because I'm a friend, but I'm paid because I'm a poor Sinner who accepted Christ as my faith.
Doesn't this also show, too, that there is no person or group of people that have a particular dialysis that which is under them? But here we see that an ascended Christ can raise up and send forth whomsoever he will, and the sphere of the Gospel parish or the dial says, is the whole world.
There wherever the whatever the gospel is.
Down the floor the Spirit of God may use different ones, and it doesn't come in under any particular person. Indeed, this is the more remarkable here because Paul had never visited colossi at all. And there he is ministering to them the truth of God, because they were part of that which those who had been saved by the energy of the Spirit of God, and he feels a burden for them.
The thinking Brother Barry, how wonderful and blessed it is, as we have in Revelations 5 and 10. For thou was slain and #deemed to God by thy blood, out of every injury and tongue, and people and nations hold the Spirit of God, and the Word of God has reached everywhere.
And bring dear ones to himself.
A new vaccine about When we sing the song with the redeemed, we'll see them and meet them all.
You now rejoice in my suffering, you, and fill up that with behind of the affliction of Christ in my place where his body's faked, in the Church, wherever I made a minister.
All we have brought before us the second ministry of the Apostle Paul, and that is the ministry to the church.
And that ministry caused the powerful the greatest suffering that he ever went through in his laborers and serving Christ down here.
But getting rejoiced and.
Because he falls with blessings, but happiness brought the soul, and he could rejoice even though it it falls in imprisonment and starts bombs and.
And being known and all around, still alarmed, rejoicing as he falls, made by grace, just filled his heart with delight. And the suffering meant.
The blessing of God for others.
Like to think of this fashion year, what he says Joyce and my suffering for you to fill up that which is behind of the affliction of Christ in my flesh for his body. The Lord when he was here on this earth is a man, he suffered and he glorified God in all his walks.
He was justified in the Spirit and everything that he did, but he's not on high. And he wanted someone to follow out that pattern, having Christ in glory before the church for his body stayed here in this world. And so he chose the apostle Paul for that service.
When you say then brother Aaron's life, the Lord Jesus.
Take all of my friends.
In connection with the blessing of God, the sinners in this world, but he left certain sufferings behind.
For His people and for those who serve in the law. But there was a special character of suffering that he left for the apostle Paul. That is, the Lord didn't suffer for the church's gulf when he was here.
00:45:18
Because the church is God has not yet come into investment. That's true. That belongs to the church has not yet been revealed at that time.
Of course, when we think of the Lord's doctrine, they were beyond.
Any human suffering no one ever suffered as our blessed Lord, as you get in lamentations.
Come see if there be any sorrow like uncle my sorrow.
We don't intend in any way you'll diminish the thought of thought. Our blessed failure has endured suffering. For in His sufferings on the frog He put away our sins. But what we're speaking about at this moment is a faithful character of something that He left behind.
For the Apostle Paul.
Or when the bottle was raised up, why he was given this ministry to bring out the truth that Christ out of the body.
And that body is composed of both Jew and Gentile. That's a little roll. That separated Jew and Gentile. If you get in Ephesians 3 is broken down to make it himself of 11 Newman.
Be so, then Paul went up to Jerusalem.
And the end of the book of Acts. Why was it that there was this patron who are Tim and you don't find the same hatred toward the other Apollo. Well, the reason is simply this that all of the preaching the truth of the church and that offended the the proud Jews who wanted to have the first swing always wave weapons of thought.
That just how that he looked at it just as all would have just as many privileges and brought into justice honorable position as himself. Well last teared up the enmity and hatred of the Jews and led to the apostle being made appraiser nearly beaten to death there in Jerusalem and his year of suffering.
At home, where the results not of his preaching the gospel.
Preaching the truth of the Church.
Who would distinguish? Of course, and I know you are intending to distinguish between the anointing suffering of their complete There is nothing that can be added to that from the Lord Jesus said on the cross, it is finished. That was the work of redemption once and for all complete, whether it was for the redeemed of Israel.
Or the church, but it's not suffering connected with the telling forth of the truth. The Lord Jesus suffered in the telling 4th of the truth is man here those sufferings that he endured at the hands of man. Paul endured things at the hands of man too, and he speaks of that. I believe in this. I just wondered if we should make that point clear if we look at the 15th of Romans. I thought perhaps that.
Thanks this little spot clear Romans 15 and verse 8.
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers. And now in the 16th verse, that I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
The Lord Jesus that I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the House of Israel, but our brother remarked Christ now and glory. He raises up one to bring the truth to the Gentile all gospel and in telling about this he suffered, but it wasn't in that sense personal suffering, but he was filling up that which was behind the sufferings of Christ.
00:50:23
But it was in his heart.
That church that blessed, he loved the Church and gave himself for it, but it was given to call to be the one who should tell us, Minister thy blessed truth. And he suffered 4 Christ in the coming out of this.
And it's a lovely thought that it was the afflictions of Christ in his body.
Dutch in 19 chapter of Max Thinking of that brother in the ninth of Acts.
And that's Ananias.
15th and 16th verses.
But the Lord said unto him, Throw thy way, for he is a chosen vessel unto me. Bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and children of Israel. Well, I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
That's not a phoning stuff. What is this at all? We also have a verse in Second Timothy chapter 2 and verse 10.
Second Timothy.
I.
After speaking about suffering for the word of God in the previous verse, it says, Therefore I endure all things.
For the elect sake, for the elect state, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus.
With eternal glory.
In the third of Philippians, the box of Paul says that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, the Felicity suffering being made conformable on his death.
Well, it's been said by that does not embrace the atoning success, but he would.
Go eat him on the Tesco or that part's concerned. He does fellowship with Christ in all his suffering but the Dome of the part. He would even go on a desk that I might know the power of his resurrection, the one who bring him out of that. And so he speaks of that, does he not in in the Second Corinthians in the 4th chapter.
Bearing about the Body, the dying of the Lord Jesus.
Nobody could witness the accounting substance of tries to think.
Jesus says he survived with no other language there by the witness of the stopping the crime. Well, he was here on earth, but he did witness some of the suffering of Christ. But when it's a question of the suffering of death and Hebrews 2, you do not find people there.
Well, God cast a veil of darkness over this world when his Son was suffering there on the cross or sin.
Of darkness which no human eye could penetrate. And my God was dealing with his beloved Son as the question of the sin allows sin. Nobody witnessed that scene. God himself, he wouldn't allow the world to see that.
Nor could he go on instead and thinking of the beautiful type that we have left the tip in the Old Testament or wherever him when he was commanded of God who partly stones. We read a very significant statement that went along the servants that were left behind that went along.
To the phrase.
Abraham was supposed to offer his son sacrifice.
These closing days of the Church's history, we who belong to the Lord are called to suffer with Him.
Let us look at Romans 8 and 17.
00:55:10
And this children then heirs, heirs of God, joined heirs with Christ.
If so, be that we suffer with Him, that we may also, that we may be also glorified together. I remember you gave us something nice on that in Detroit.
I just recall what it was used kind of construction. So no one comes to God that says let's go on. If so be that we that we suffer with him into.
Explain that to her.
I don't recall I said that.
We suffer 4 crimes when we speak out and confess his name but we suffer with him even if we didn't say anything because we love him and when we hear his name spoken again it hurts inside whether we speak or not. When you love someone and you hear someone speak against that person by inwardly you suffer and in that way you suffer with them.
But if you speak out and say that it has hurt you, then you suffer for them. Elders both isn't there. Peter speaks of both suffering with Christ and suffering for Christ.
Well, I'm sure that the thought was called suffering for his friend who they attended for that third year. They please stand firm for the truth that caused him so much suffering. We'll find a character suffering ourselves to find prediction because the the religious world.
Or you might say Christmas.
Approval of the dirt, the gospel may become quite popular. You can even have a social gospel. They may be much that is intended to Ralph Cole bring them to a knowledge of Christ their Savior. But when you preach the truth of the church, what it is to be members of the body of Christ.
Knighted to the head of and headed glory to carry out.
Practically, the truth that has given us as to the way that hurts function. Battle the body of Christ and you'll find that in prison that will not be acceptable.
Just to kill our newest trick years ago.
Found near where I was raised, raising the Harlem.
Our brother, SP Brown flown health consensus meetings there.
Now people were thought would have more of life meeting an hour ahead, sit on a bench without a back to hear the dog. And when the meeting started, Pence was crowded the whole lot where he spoke, and people were on the street lifting to the gospel. Later on, he began to preach the truth of the jury.
People would walk across the street to hear you. Why was that different?
Along with.
Crowds not to say that dog wasn't blessing the dog.
But it showed when the truth of the Church is brought clearly and perfectly before so.
They don't want it.
All the people you know, they were all anxious to get their friends safe. All they were couldn't understand how anyone could attend those meetings would not hinder the birds. But when the things word of God was brought before them as to a place where the Lord has put his name, they were just as unwilling and even Christians were just as unwilling to expect the plain truth of dark words being.
Coming out five of the camps and being gathered, the Lord's name of the sinners they condemned were unwilling to accept the gospel, their salvation.
01:00:00
The Congress meeting follow up work after the tech work is over.
Sometimes the Brother Albert Hales, Brother Wakefield and others have been down there. It's lovely to see the faces of dear ones that have been saved light up when you speak of the Lord coming. Perhaps they've never heard of it before.
And the truth that our life is hit with Christ and God, but when we get to the part of the truth that you've been Speaking of, gathered who are ejected Christ in separation from the world. Oh, there isn't in some cases thankful. There are some that go on, but in some cases you see a change.
The Flex doesn't like it.
Is it because of the notebook of manifestation there and testimony through the discourse?
All the enemy does all he can to hinder a Sinner from coming to Christ, but he also does all he can after we have been saved to hinder us from enjoying the blessedness of following Christ and obedience. Well, the truth of gathering is indeed important, but there are many things that I'm sure each one of us can apply to our own lives. Are we fully in submission to the Word of God?
If we are, why we're curving in a deeper measure the enjoyment of what we what is our portion in Christ? Well, May God grant them. We'll battle the gospel value, the privilege of being gathered to His precious name, but also walk in our own personal lives and the enjoyment of all that has been made known to us. For as He goes on, we see that that is brought before us in a practical way.
We we may be in the knowledge of being guided to the Lords name, but are we walking in the enjoyment of the back? Christ in you, the hope of glory.
In Hebrews 13 those familiar words. Let us go forth therefore unto Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
Well, there is a reproach connected with following Christ the rejected 1 outside the camp. Well the camp I believe in scripture.
As it is especially brought to forest here is when men make the truth of God Poplar through the natural man. That becomes a camp, and the men don't like it if you don't go on with them in there. So there is a reproach connected with us. Well, that's been spoken out as a social gospel. Seems to me to fit in with what follows here we have no continuing city.
A continuing city.
Would be endeavor to make this world better and I should place the bed and all like that. The church is looked at as a continuing city. We are filled with the sojourners here in the scene. We're expecting the Lord to come and take us out of this state.
You know to take off. It's much easier to say when people ask you where you go. Oh, I go to Gospel Mall.
I know when I was young myself.
Got the coach, It was easy to say. Tell them I'm done with the name of Lord Jesus Christ.
The collection of the structure of the following 14th of Hebrews.
Three other scriptures which have been held for my trust and may be an helpful for the young people here.
As jealous as far as the imperative, we find man's first of all called a syllabus.
A wicked Sinner, and next to the 1313 we find that lattice be received with a laugh.
And Leviticus 1313 we find that the effort to now flee. So now where is the clean magic of Hebrews 1313?
01:05:01
It's quite easy to remember.
1330 in each page, but in the last one we have let us go forth, therefore, under Him, without the can, bearing His reproach. We have 14 words in the verse, and He's in the dead center of it.
It has been very precious and I think it should have helped the young people.
Scriptures.
Well, we have another important word in the end of the 25th part, and that is to complete the word of God.
And might require one of that seed.
Now you notice that I quoted that as it is in the new prime place not to fulfill the Word of God, but to complete the Word of God.
When the truth of the mystery of Christ in the church was revealed to the Apostle Paul, the word of God, as far as the substance that God has in His word for man were complete. That doesn't mean that they were not other books to be written.
After Paul wrote the last because there's no doubt that John's writing.
And we have in the Book of Revelation.
What relate to events far beyond falls time and back beyond the first period. But that is not another subject, in fact, the revelation as to the judgment coming on the earth.
And the restoration of Israel, the setting up of the Kingdom here on earth and the blessing that will be connected with it.
As a subject that you'll find all the way through the prophets in the old death, but you'll not find the subject of the Church of God in the Old Testament. And to get any visions that it was hit from ages, from generations.
And is now made known through his only apostles and power.
That was a new revelation and when the truth of the Church was.
Given to the apostle Paul, the Word of God was complete. There's no further subject to ever be introduced in connection with God's ways.
In this world and his dealings with man, there will never be another revelation. The Word of God is absolutely and positively complete.
Would you say that the apostle Paul chemistry in.
Bringing in the truth of the church carried us right on down to the eternal state. As we get friends of First Corinthians, he brings in there the hope of the Lord's coming, carrying his own down to that, and then he in a few words there he speaks about.
The millennial state and he takes it on down to the eternal state. Well, then the other riding fell in detail, so to speak.
What goes in between?
You say it doesn't mean he wrote the last word of the trip.
So by you may see a word for young people about these headings and go testing the station right there here one here in the 33rd chapter says God comfort from church.
It's been said that there is also football heading and stricture. They gave all the curses to the Jews, took all the blessings for the church.
But that isn't fair, isn't it? Is a poor jewel. All the curses take all the blessings for ourselves. Absolutely inconsistent. They were fact, as we well know.
01:10:04
And they're, they'll have it made clear to me. So the young.
You still not find the truth of the church in the Old Testament of the soul. It wasn't revealed at that time. But first, if you'd like to look at it and be it for yourself in the third chapter of Ephesians.
They accept first of you being free, which in other ages was not made known of the sons of men as it is now. What is that now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit? Oh, look, that the Gentile is the fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ for the daughter.
When he takes in the beginning of that third chapter about.
All that third person, all that by revelation he made known of me, the mystery as I wrote before, and few words. You just look back to the second chapter and you see there what he is speaking about.
Or he felt.
In the 14 the 14th, 1St.
For He is our peace, who have made both one and have broken down the middle wall partition.
Between us, that is, that war that separated you and Gentile was broken down.
So that all may become one body in Christ. Don't find nothing about in the Old Testament. It's made clear there that it was not revealed.
In those times and then again you get.
Farther down on the 3rd chapter.
We have the 9th person to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery which from the beginning of the world have been hitting dogs.
It was here we created all things by Jesus Christ.
That is meaning, I take it, of being hidden, God. That is, you do not get any property in the Old Testament about the church. We do find that it was hidden as far as pipe shuttles were concerned. Well, the very first Bible, the Bible is Adam taking heed for his pride and saying.
This is born of my bone and flesh of my flesh impossible uses that and the fossil decisions when he felt I showed a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the Church. So you do get all those beautiful types.
You've already mentioned in the 24th Genesis preservative went find the bride for Ivy. Well, there's the church, hidden and tight, but not in property.
Well, the flights of the of the broad and the flight flights of the house, but we don't have the place of the body.
That, I think is our brother Barry has said we do not have direct prophecy concerning the Church.
In the second chapter of our Colossians here I just would like to call attention to the second verse rated in the new translation. To the end that their hearts may be encouraged, being united together in love and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the full knowledge of the mystery of God in in which are hidden.
All the trainers of wisdom and knowledge, connecting that with what we have read to complete the Word of God. I believe it's well for us to see that one who does not understand the truth of the church is not able to put together the rest of God's Word.
01:15:10
The picture is complete when the truth of the church is made known. It'd be just like you have a a jigsaw puzzle.
You only have part of the piece as well. You can't get the picture altogether. Then you get them all. Now you have the complete picture. And until the truth of the church was made known, the revelation, the divine Canon was not complete. But when Paul by the Spirit made known the truth of the church, now all the secrets that are in the heart of God have been told out and.
One who does not see this as we have in this second chapter, in which or wherein are his all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And much of the confusion that is in the mind of Christians in connection with understanding the Bible is because they don't understand the truth of the church, and they're not able to put together the teachings of the Old Testament with the New.
A sometimes illustrated it's like this.
Dropped into someone's home and there's a man in right there, but I don't know they're mad and white. I can't understand the actions and all have gone in the home but as soon as I find out who they are, why, the whole manner of conduct and the way the home is run is immediately solved to me. And those who do not see the truth of the church never get an understanding of God's ways and the enemy will try to keep.
The faith of God from getting hold of this precious truth.
And they study the Bible and study the Bible and study the Bible, and they haven't got the great secret where in our head all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and we can put together, as our brother Harrison remarked, all the counties of God right up to the eternal faith.
All of this precious truth because there are two circles of blessings. The heavenly blessings are the heavenly people of which the Church of the Center, and the earthly blessing of an earthly people of which Israel are the center. And these two distinct purposes of God are made known, but cannot be understood until we understand this wonderful secret of the truth of the Church.
What you say after the what we've been speaking about through the church, but the Lord only mentions it twice in his ministry and forget future and then he also said I have many things to stand here, but you cannot bear them now and then he speaks to the Holy Spirit come, but when he has come, he will show you the things to come guidance lawsuit and show you the things to come.
Well, then, we have the Spirit of God coming the day of Pentecost, but the time wasn't yet so for the revelation of the real truth of the Church, the mystery, the door was held open for the Jews, who still receives in the style he refers to, that a third of the acts that if they resented, he would send it. Well, then we find that it goes on.
Then in the 7th chapter of the act, Stephen is strong and he charges them with resisting the Holy Spirit.
Well then the door is closed, so to speak, for them as a nation. And then we do have in the 8th chapter the gospel going to Samaritan. Then in the 9th chapter, why the Lord raises up a new vessel, that is the Apostle Paul.
To learn and we find him find later then too, that the Lord sets aside Jerusalem as the center of these activities and he transfers it to Antioch. Gentiles that he from which the ministry, the apostle Paul went forth.
Perhaps one of the younger people might be helped by a word on the meaning of the word mystery.
It doesn't mean something mysterious that you can't ever understand.
01:20:03
It simply means.
Secrets. But it's secret that is revealed.
Perhaps this is the best word but to be initiated.
Royal Masonry, They are the sacred placement.
Well, they only give me secret to move of a certain degree.
But those who are given these secrets, why they're nothing.
That they can't understand about it, but they have to be in a certain position, they have to be brought into the into this system.
These mysteries we get in structure are for those who really lay hold of the truth.
Doesn't call a man in the world.
The only man in the world got hold of it in the opinion you have no power to walk but those who really have the Lord, who desire to please the Lord for these things.
Become important and structural.
Well, I believe our brother Hazel used to say that the natural man could not get the truth.
As to God, as to Christ, as to church, from the Scriptures itself could not get it. It takes care of God really good. He said that he might read some book to somebody's written by and get the truth of that way in his head, but he could never get it from the Scripture itself.
I was enjoying the Kohl's brothers with what you say in connection with Abraham and indicated to save all the law of the hide from Abraham the things which I do.
Well, it's a wonderful day.
Call that it really is to find the Spirit of God, but must be a state of soul. That's your thoughtful and your thought, yeah.
Listen, connected with Abraham is not the revelation of the secret of the change, but whoever can reveal many things that others didn't know anything about it.
But this practice, truth is for all those who are children of God.
A state of soul is necessary to the understanding of it, but it's for all, as we see, and we come here, the 27th verse, to whom God would make known. What is the riches of the glory of this mystery or secret among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you? The hope of glory whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
The great desire of the heart of the apostle was not just that a few believers would lay hold of this, but he said this is for all, and he desired that they should all lay hold of it. As our brothers remarked, the state of soul is necessary before we can make these things our own, but how important it is that they're for all. And the apostle Paul mourned in the Hebrews 5.
That many of those believers remained babes.
He said he had fathom with milk, and he said when to the time he ought to be teachers. You have needs that one teach you again, but be the first principles of the oracles of God. And many dear Christians remain babes all their lives. But let us not think for the moment that it isn't that. It is because God doesn't want us to know these things and enjoy them. He wants us to be full grown Christians. He wants us as believers.
Boy should enjoy the album. And that was the whole burden of the heart of the apostles. Why were they getting carried away with philosophy and vain deceit? All they weren't in the enjoyment of what they had in Christ. Why would all them Laodicea growing lukewarm? All there weren't in the enjoyment of that which they had in Christ. I constantly to go buy me gold tried in the fire of the thalamus be rich.
01:25:13
And all, beloved brethren, we have these precious things as gathered to the name of the Lord Jesus. They have been made known to us. But are we walking in them? Are we enjoying them? You are, brethren, see that we are walking with heavenly men. Israel hosted that they have the temple of the Lord. They said the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are these. And the Lord was free because they were occupied with the material thing, and they were exercised to walk before him.
In the enjoyment of lab which He had for them as a nation, And we can know what it is to be gathered to the Lord's name. But let us be practical, beloved brethren, and what as those who enjoy these things, and who have a real vision of this glory before our souls?
This was what burdened the heart of the apostle for these things. Well, if we're not enjoying the truth that we hold by and by, I believe it will slip promise. Doesn't that is that the meaning of second Peter, one where it says either lacking these things is blind and cannot see a bar off and has forgotten that he was first from his old stairs. That is, he moves.
The sense of.
Is security in Christ forgotten? Slip promise. And I don't know that there's anywhere else he's ever spoken of as a child of God being blind. That kind of is the world. But there it says he's blind, he cannot get far off. He's lost his heavenly vision.
I've been saying 24 years.
Nothing but trade is only trade. You can try for living there, to laugh at hand and speak well. Shore nothing good #24 in the end.
So we go through all the.
Joseph and His Brethren

After 45.
The fourth verse Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom he sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved nor angry with yourselves that she sold me. Hit her, for God did send me before you to preserve life.
Or these two years have the famine being in the land.
And yet there are five years in the which there shall neither be earring nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a prosperity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me, Heather a God, and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and Lord of all his house, and a ruler.
Throughout all the land of Egypt.
ASG And go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me Lord of all Egypt. Come down unto me. Carry not thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen. Thou shalt be near unto me, thou and thy children, and thy children's children.
Thy flocks and thy herds, and all of thou hast there. Will I nourish thee?
For yet there are five years of famine, lest thou and thy household.
And all thou hast come to come to poverty. A little further down the chapter 17th verse. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, this do ye laid your beasts, and go get you unto the land of Canaan, and take your father in your household, and come unto me, and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
Now Lord commanded this, Do ye take you wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives, and bring your father? And come also regard not your stuff for the good of all. The land of Egypt is yours. And the children of Israel did so. Joseph gave them wagons according to the commandment of Pharaoh.
Gave them provision for the way To all of them he gave each man change the Raymond, but to Benjamin he gave 300 pieces of silver.
And five changes of raiment. And to his father he sent after this manner.
10 ***** laden with the good things of Egypt, and 10 she ***** laden with corn, bread and meat, for his father, by the way. So he sent him. So he sent his brethren away. They departed. He said unto them, See that she fall not out by the way.
This precious scene is well known to us all. Her brother has just been Speaking of the time when the Lord Jesus.
Will be manifested in his glory as the Son of Man when he takes that place of headship not only over his people, Israel, but as over the whole earth. And I believe it's brought before us here in this portion where we see Joseph and his exalted place. But I believe we also have.
The provision made before his brethren came down to a partake of all this.
And I think there's much precious encouragement and instruction for us here. First of all, we see Joseph making himself known unto his brethren. They were troubled sense a sense of guilt filled their minds, and they were afraid of the presence of Joseph. But isn't this lovely? In the fourth verse Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me.
I pray you, isn't this lovely?
Joseph, the one who made soul into Egypt, wanted to have those guilty brethren near him. He had waited until repentance had been wrought in their hearts. It had taken some time before they were broken down, and God had to work that with us, and it took some time.
Before we were broken down there was a realization of their guilt, and it was coupled also with a sense of the kindness of Joseph for those of the two things. There is the sense of our own guilt and the remembrance of what we have done. But also what leads to full repentance is the knowledge of God's goodness. Knowest thou not, old man, that the goodness of God?
00:05:16
Leadeth thee to repentance.
And it was Joseph, goodness, that finally broke them down. Now they stood in his presence. And he said, Come near unto me, I pray you. Oh, how lovely. And he wants us, brethren, to be near him. He doesn't want us to dwell at a distance from him.
What a privilege was ours in the special way this morning, as all we could hear him saying, Come near unto me, I pray you. And we came into his presence in the remembrance of his sufferings and death, And it says, here they came near.
They came near authors, one here who hasn't responded to his invitation.
He is saying, come near. Oh, you say, I feel so unworthy. But weren't Joseph, brethren, unworthy? Indeed, each one of us that we were to look in would be overwhelmed by a sense of our own unworthiness. But Joseph invited them. They came because he invited them. They came to partake of the provision he had made.
Not any provision they had made for themselves. And now he also adds.
Be not angry with yourselves that she sold me. Hit her, for God did send me before you.
To preserve life, we might be occupied too with our own.
Failure and shortcomings. But isn't this lovely? Be not angry with yourselves.
Surely there needed to be self judgment, and there had been on their part as to all that was unfitting to His presence. But having felt it and judged it, now He could say it's gone as it were. You don't need to be angry with yourselves. And if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
And then he points them to the fact that it was the hand of God.
That had sent him there. And how lovely it is that this morning we had the privilege of remembering God's side of the cross. But God had in that work he was glorified, our needs fully met. And this is the privilege that we had of remembering all that has come to us because God has been glorified.
About the whole question of sin, but what particularly was on my heart?
Was the provision that was made for them the rest of the time.
Notice this sixth verse. For these two years hath the famine been in the land.
And yet there are five years.
Yet there are five years.
And we don't know, brethren, what trials there may be ahead. We know that there have been trials in the past. We know that God has been faithful and that He hasn't failed, that He has brought us through. And He cared for his earring brethren. And in those two years when they came down in their need, He supplied their need and returned their money in their sacks. But he said they're five years more.
Five years more of famine.
And there is enough ahead of us, too, to test us and show us our own weakness. For the wilderness lessons are twofold. First, our own helplessness for five is human weakness, and then God's whole provision, he said to Israel.
Thou shalt remember all the way, the Lord thy God LED thee these 40 years to humbly and to prove thee. But along with that also was the fact that He fed them, He clothed them, He took care of them through those 40 years.
And so isn't it lovely that we can look ahead, not knowing what is ahead of us, but there will be famine. But they weren't to dwell in a land of famine, if one might speak that way. They were to dwell in a place of plenty. They were to dwell in the place.
Where Joseph, in the midst of the famine, made full and abundant provision for them.
And so he said.
In the eighth verse, the ninth verse, haste you, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me Lord of all Egypt. Come down unto me. Carry not thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen.
00:10:12
And thou shalt be near unto me. Yes, here was the whole secret.
He didn't tell them how he was going to care for them for the next five years.
But he said you will become my charge, you will be near to me, and there I'll nourish you. And we don't know how the Lord is going to lead us through the problems and difficulties that may be ahead of us, but we do need to be near Him.
And if we're near him by then, we have his precious promise. I will nourish you. Oh, how beautiful this is, how it solves every doubt. If he had told him how, it might have raised many questions in their minds as to just how this plan would work out. But he didn't tell them how that he said.
And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen.
And thou shalt be near unto me. And he said, This is lest you come to poverty. And all. How many of us come to poverty in our lives because we don't dwell near Him, We don't keep near him until we come to poverty? It isn't the provision isn't there for us. It is a fallen abundant provision. But we need to be near Him. And so this was Joseph's word.
Brethren. And he also says Hasty.
Paste G. And the reason he said haste was because there were certain links with their place down in Canaan that they might be lulled to break in a hurry. And perhaps there are things that we have two links that connect us with a land of famine, things that we say, well, I can't get away from this situation. I can't get away from that.
Well, Joseph said. Hey, Steve.
Beloved brethren, if there's anything that's hindering us from dwelling near to Him.
Let us haste and remove that difficulty in his presence. Let us haste and come down to him. And so he told them to come there, because he was Lord of all Egypt. And now there's more here. And he said, Thou and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds.
And all that thou hast. Yes, children, children's children, and flocks and herds.
Oh, how often there is a hindrance here. We say for ourselves, it's all right, but what about our children?
They are not prepared for the difficulties of the path of faith. But isn't this beautiful to see Joseph anticipating? He said, not only yourselves, but your children and your children's children. And as we look at the children.
Young people, isn't this a precious promise that we can seek to be near the Lord and we can seek to bring our children into that position? They're going to face new problems, difficulties that we haven't had to face, but the one who has met our need is able to care for theirs too, and in the five years of famine that are ahead.
He's not going to fail.
If we keep near to him all how much we need to be reminded of this and I flocks and I heard that is that would connect, I believe with their business, their possessions and so with us.
There often entanglements, well they were to bring not only.
Themselves and their children, but their flocks and their herds. Doesn't it remind us of when the children of Israel came out of Egypt? Why, Moses said, we'll take our children with us, our flocks and our herds. Not a hook shall be left behind.
Yes, they were going to bring them all out, and God would make them his charge as they passed through the wilderness. But alas, their faith failed. And as they looked at their little ones and they said, have you brought us out? Our us and our little ones, and our cattle would perish.
00:15:08
In this wilderness, the Lord says, I will bring your children in and.
Their faith failed, but he brought their children in. Oh, how beautiful to see God's grace caring for those children and bringing them in and all. How good it is to turn to him in the years of famine that may lie ahead and know there's a place of security.
In this world through which we're passing, where there's so much to remind us that it is a world of famine. Now going down further in the chapter.
The 17th verse And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do you laid your beast.
And go up, get you under the land of Canaan, then further down, he says. And they.
21St verse And the children of Israel did so, and Joseph gave them wagons according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision or the way, isn't this lovely? He didn't send them down and say, well, you have to straighten out this.
Problem yourself of getting down there and getting cleared from all those entanglements down in Canaan and then getting back here. No, he even made provision for that and saw that when they went down into the land of Canaan, they had wagons and they had provisions for the way all. How gracious is our God.
All how full his provision.
And we are going to shortly leave this time of fellowship together.
We're going to face some of the five years of famine, perhaps as we return to our homes, to our businesses, to our assembly life. And we realize this. Well, brethren, he's given us wagons. He's given us that which would carry us along.
And so that in spite of all the hardships of going down into Egypt and getting back to Canaan here where the wagons provided for them and for their little ones, for their wives, now on the 20th verse also regard not your stuff. What a word for all the things that they had once called worthwhile.
I suppose before this.
They wouldn't have called this stuff. They would have said these are our possessions, these are our hard earned possessions and they would have considered them something worthwhile. But Pharaoh and Joseph say it's just stuff. It's just stuff. I don't regard that, he said. Because the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
And brethren, isn't it true that we have a lot of stuff?
A lot of things that we place a great deal of value upon, but the Lord says it's just stuff. We have better possessions. The little hen says Our hearts by thee are set on brighter things above. Strange that we ever should forget thine own most faithful love.
No. May we look upon those possessions as being just stuff?
And this 22nd verse they had 21St verse rather the end of the verse, and gave them provision for the way To all of them he gave changes of Raymond, but to Benjamin he gave 300 pieces of silver.
And five changes of raiment. Well, these changes of raiment, what would they speak about? Well, we mentioned in young people's meeting about how those wise men went into their country another way. And the garments in Scripture are a figure to us of the associations of life.
The leper was to wash his clothes and bathe him his flesh in water.
The man that was unclean when he was cleansed was to wash his clothes. But here we find these people all outfitted with new garments. They were given changes of Raymond. And so when they went back, instead of their neighbors looking on them and saying, well, there are those poor travelers, they said, oh, where have those people been clothed from?
00:20:09
They've got Raymond from a King.
How beautiful her clothes are. Yes, they had received Raymond from the king of Pharaoh, which they could display to the people whom they met. Brethren, God has given us a change of Raymond. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. All things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new. And I hope as I return and you return from these meetings, people will see that we.
Receive raiment from the king that we carry, have a different way by which we carry ourselves through this world, as those who have been, as it were, in the King's palace, in the presence of the one who loved us, and who has preserved and saved our lives by a great deliverance. Oh, why does it say that he gave the silver and the five changes of Raymond to Benjamin?
Well, I just pass on this little thought. Benjamin was specially near to Joseph. Benjamin was one who felt a special endearment of relationship with Joseph and so Joseph made a special provision for him.
And you know, the nearer we are to the Lord, the more we are going to appreciate His grace.
And the more we're going to show that we've been in his presence. And so here we're.
300 pieces of silver. Silver speaks of redemption all. How lovely. Why don't we appreciate what the Lord has done for us more? Well, where He is perhaps all the other 10 brethren.
Brothers of Joseph, but here was one who especially near to Joseph, and so he went back with his 300 pieces of silver. Brethren, I hope we'll return with a deeper appreciation of a redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
I hope we will return with a deeper sense of what the Lord has done for us.
To make us his arm, and the nearer we have been to him and the more we have enjoyed his presence in these meetings, the more we'll carry away with us of that appreciation. And these five we mentioned the five years of famine.
Well, here were five changes of raiment. Perhaps it would speak of the whole five years that were ahead, because Joseph, or Benjamin rather, was one who was specially near. Hadn't Joseph said the ones that were near unto him would be cared for?
And so here's one who in advance gets his five changes of raiment. All, beloved brethren, how good it is to look out upon a future of famine. And no, it being near the Lord, it's all taken care of all the way.
Not going to fail every step of the way. Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever. Some of us say, well, I know that the Lord will undertake for me in the present difficulties. Yes, thank God He will, but He'll undertake for us all the way home. Five also speaks of weakness, and it's a confessed sense of weakness. It's no boasting.
Only in him. Each new garment that Joseph display that Benjamin displayed as those years passed by was but a fresh reminder that he had been near to Joseph, who was Lord of all Egypt. And May God grant that as the time goes on in our lives.
And no difficulties and problems face us if the Lord leaves us here.
That it will just be occasion to display again that we have been in His presence. We have, I believe, that thought in 2nd Corinthians 3 and 18. For it says we all with open face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory. Each one of these garments came from the King, came from Joseph.
But each one had a different glory to it, I'm sure.
And as we go on in His presence, there will be that.
Reflection that will increase in our lives. More of himself that will be seen. And so as others looked on and saw Benjamin, that youngest son.
00:25:11
And saw what the others didn't have the new garments they must, they must have said he must be a special favorite. He must be a special favorite. Well, Joseph perhaps, or rather John perhaps had a little of this in another way in the New Testament. He leaned on Jesus bosom. He called himself a disciple.
Whom Jesus loved.
You say, has the Lord got special favorites? Well, everyone who appreciates nearness to Him is a special favorite of His.
Everyone of the disciples could have called himself the disciple whom Jesus loved, because it says having loved his own, which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. He loved Peter, he loved James, but John was near enough to him to gain a special appreciation of that, and so he called himself a disciple whom Jesus loved. May God grant that we'll consider ourselves.
Special favorites. He loves us, brethren, and he's going to love us through the whole five years of famine.
Well, these were brought down and it says.
Special things were taken for Jacob, who wasn't there. Well, perhaps there's somebody that wasn't at this meeting. Perhaps there's a discouraged soul that says, well, I'm not going to go to the conference. It's a lot of effort and all. You just go there and you meet a lot of people and sometimes you don't get all you expect at the conference.
Well, isn't this wonderful? Here was special provision.
***** laden and everything carried home the poor, unbelieving Jacob.
Oh, brethren, what are we going to carry home? Are we going to go back and find fault with the brethren that didn't come? And they were a bit discouraged and said, well, I'm not going to go too much effort. Well, they didn't go back and find fault with Jacob. They went back and said, look, Jacob, he said all this for you.
He said all this for you, And what did Jacob do? He says I'll go, I'll go down. I'll, I'll get near him too. If that's the way he provides all, How lovely. May we carry something home with us of the provision that he has given to us, and also for those who are not there, the ones that carried by the stuff in Samuel's time.
They were depart alike. May we carry something home for them?
But then there was one little word he gave them. 24th verse.
So he sent his brethren away, and they departed. And he said unto them, See that you fall not out. By the way, wasn't it sad they had to add a thing like that? He said.
You might get quarreling, you know, on your way home you might get quarreling, said watch that. Well, how sad it is. Lord done so much for us. He's won our hearts. He's made so many gracious provisions for us and promises for the future. But all I'm afraid we have hearts just like Joseph's brethren. Our libel will fall out, by the way.
May the Lord give us grace to watch this.
See that you fall not out. By the way, one is sometimes said, The only thing that we're going to take home with us to glory when we leave this scene is not our possessions. What are we going to take home, our brethren?
Our brethren, the only thing that I look on in this world.
That I'm going to have in heaven as my brethren, That's all. Not any money, not any automobile or possessions, useful as they may be down here, They're all going to be left behind. But you to your brethren into whose faces I looked this afternoon. We're going to spend eternity together.
That's what we have that really come. We value our brethren. Are we falling out of them? Do we value them? We ought to. Maybe things that cause us exercise. There may be things that cast us on our knees before the Lord about one another, and perhaps our brethren about us.
But all that is seek to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the uniting bond of peace. May God grant that as we face those years that may be ahead of us, till the Lord comes for those days or those moments, whatever it may be, that in the meantime.
00:30:14
We will seek to dwell near him and enjoy the gracious provision that he's made.

Class 114.
In who that is his dearest father, the 1St.
Then only have redemption through His love.
Give the forgiveness of sins through the image of the invisible God, the first four of every creature.
For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth.
Visible, Invisible, whether they be thrown, Ornament or principality or powers.
All things are created by Him and for Him, and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
Or substances, and he is the head of a body, the church, where is the beginning, the first born of the dead.
And in all things he might have with free evidence.
For Him please the Father, that in Him should all force dwell.
And having made peace through the blood of his heart, by him to reconcile all things unto you.
By him I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven.
And you, the verse sometimes alienated enemies in your mind by wicked words, yet now after being recognized.
In the body of His plan through death to present you fully and unblinked and unapprovable in His sights.
If you continue in the face ground of the seven, and may not move away from the hope of the gospel which he have heard entered his reach, every creature which is under heaven.
For all I all have made of ministry.
Do now rejoice in my sufferings for you. Then fill up that which is behind of the affliction of strikes.
In my face, for his body's sake, which is the church for all I have made a ministry of God.
Whereof I am made of minister according to the dispensation of God, which is given to me for you to fulfill the word God in the message which has been hidden through generations.
But now I was made in manifest.
To whom God will make no.
Whatever riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory who we preach warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, doesn't represent every man.
1St in Christ Jesus.
We're on the oil also later strive according to his work which worked in me. Like I noticed we have to say words in the first chapter of Ephesians which we have in this verse the 14th verse.
And a few words are added to it. Firstly, creation verse 7.
And whom we have redemption through his blood.
The forgiveness of sins.
According to the riches of his grace.
Why others were omitted here? The first you tell us brother. Clan have to learn brother. Did you understand what word Julie were omitted?
The richness of his grace in Ephesians one, but they're not mentioned in this verse.
Also I believe through his blood is a medal to it.
But it does appear.
In 1St 20 I just the reason why.
The flood is mentioned and supports these first correct translation.
Because the Spirit of God.
Occupying us, this place so much the workers, right as he is with the person Christ.
00:05:09
We find that at the end of the 13th, 1St are being translated into the Kingdom of his dear Son or the Son of his love.
The father of the son of his love.
He has taken us and all the persons that fall.
I'm able to get his head chips and create.
His head chips in connection with the church.
In with 14th 1St in connection with redemption. Well everything refers back to the Son of his love or how the Spirit of God delights to bring the person of Christ.
Before our soul occupies us with that Blessed One, and reminding us, while occupied with His left at first, that we're occupied with the very one that the Father himself has found all his life.
So when the Peter would have put the Lord on a dead level with.
The flowers and their lives.
And the amount of transfiguration.
There was a bright cloud overshadowed the whole sea, and then a boy comes out of the clouds saying, this is my beloved son.
In whom I am well pleased. And then the voice asked, here is him, that is, if that one is the world of life in the Father's heart, I surely he is sufficient to satisfy every desire along with our hearts. Well, God doesn't give us an object.
That is not the object of his own heart.
Hire College Hospital.
And when they have lift up their eyes, they saw no man save Jesus. Almost so very precious thank you object that delights the Father's heart. Also use the term God's heart.
Given to us walk you by in our hearts might be occupied with looking to him reading about this situation. Oh, it's keeping us but the tension at the first meeting that in in Colossians is what Christ is to the church and so it's the glory of his person that is brought before us.
Redemption is the means by which we have been brought to know Him, to joy all this, but it's his personal.
Been remarked, who is brought before us as this 51St says, who is the image of the invisible God, the glory of that lesson, one who perfectly reveals God the Father, and we have been brought into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, to know him, to see the glory that I am doing him, to be associated with him in that glory.
And we will.
Time is the Kingdom of the Father.
That is a heavenly portion throughout the Millennium and now already we are in the Kingdom and the son of his mother and also in the Kingdom of and for his patience to get that in revelation one time that gets distracted to the.
The character of our present.
Trials and tribulations that belong to us, that are following him. Revelation 19.
It's not important in this 15th verse.
The first born of every creature. We know that there are those who use this first to teach that the Lord actually had to a beginning.
00:10:03
Right as this verse has no such thought, all the first born of every creature is that the one who is the head of the whole creation is the one who has become a man and has man. He is the head of that whole scene. The whole creative seed has been made by him, by him all the success.
Not just consent, but substance.
That is after very being in existence and this one who is the head of it all over, the beginner of it all, has become a man because we connected with that verse, the song that says I will make him my first born. I are the king of the earth.
That's what he has in a place that he has taken given by the Father as man and yet the creator of it all that be so Yeah, why the hell put one other place pudding egg and entering his own creation.
But the 1St place and we need to understand clearly that first born is a table. It doesn't always mean the 1St 400 times or the first you go. I think it's from the 89. I will make him my first born higher than the kings of the earth. Well.
That was seven days. Well, David was the youngest of all of us on the Gentry.
And yet he was made the 1St 4:00. So that title we find all the way through scripture.
It's a title that speaks of preeminence.
That's very important because the 7th day after this time, the Jehovah Witnesses will try to tangle you up on on that first try, to seek through that first that Christ is only a created being.
This is a more serious doctrine because if our savior is only a creator by then we really have no savior at all because it was only a divine person.
Who was being was from all eternity that could take up the question of our sins and settle that question divinely and eternally before God.
I was thinking too and connections with the 14th, 1St, even the forgiveness of sin. Well, they're brought into that Kingdom of the Son of his love and God has brought us into that Kingdom without anything to disturb our consciousness and enjoy his presence.
We know even then next.
Like something that that hasn't been forgiven if there's something between members of the family.
I called friction uneasiness until all The thing is out and settled and forgiven. There isn't full communion. So in bringing us into that wonderful fear of blessing.
That nothing was ever to disturb our happily precious communion with this One whose glorious, who fully brought it for us, found His mouth. Then He begins, You see, to exalt first of Christ, first is creation.
And so he continues with that subject, always keeping before it was cold.
One who has the son of the Father's love.
I suppose the apocryphal enjoyed that support his new brother in the next.
We have been forgiven, our sins have been forgiven and justified by God himself. So on the eighth of Romans verse 33 says, who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elections? It is God that justifies who is either condemneth. It is Christ that died.
For whom did he die? For me and the blood of the past.
00:15:00
So he asked some questions and he answers them, but there might be an encouragement to our hearts who shall lay anything to the charge of God and languages. God is justified. What a precious truth that is true Is he that condemneth them that God is justified. What priest it brings to the heart. Father, in connection with our 15th verse.
I once read.
Something that a man had written and he put it this way in the likeness of the invisible God. Scripture never puts it that way.
But that would imply a doubt that he was. God doesn't say thought of the image.
They just that he is a representative of God.
You see, we we're told of Adam that he was created in the image and in the likeness of God. That is, Adam was brought into a creation where he was in edit and that way he represented God in that creation.
Now Adam, as we know, has completely failed as the first man.
All we have the headship not only in connections with creative down here, but the whole thing of creation.
That's a marvelous creation surely is we have the one who has put the represents thought that is in matters over this whole created thing harvest for us poor human beings to fit that a man.
One of our very race has placed in that highest place over all this creative and we can look over and look around and get glimpse of his morals. Whole world is occupied especially now with the wonders of this creation.
Are much better for you and He will allow us to be occupied with the head of that creation and then we as we look at the wonders of it.
It just involved the glory one who had such quizzes to bring such a theme of glory and such power as we behold.
In that lovely brother park. That's the practical side of things, business. And they're having sex. The ignorance before us now as the apostle sets your minds on these things above.
He doesn't tell us to set our minds on those things above until he has set before us the story of the person live about. So he's brought up the fullest stories of the son of his love, then says now set your mind on those things up there.
But they're here. But what is the difference between image and life? Because well, I believe, say, give me to more of the thought of the thought of representatives.
Of time, the life from the Lord has to show him a panic. Whose image and superstition description is this? Well, they said season. Well, it's very likely wasn't the perfect image of it, perfect likeness, but it showed who he was the head of the Roman Empire.
Well, likeness, I believe, brings in more the moral side of things, because it's not. It's moral to moral qualities of God himself. Now while looking at this subject of image, it brings to mind that wonderful first chapter of John where we see the person Christ also magnified in all his various offices.
The first counselor John Scott and in verse 18 it says no man has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son who is in the bosom, the Father, he had declared again. That's what we have in our verse and thought is the image. And then in the 14th captured John.
00:20:03
The Lord Jesus says he that hath seen me.
Have seen the Father and that's impeding the thought. Now let's look at the Hebrews chapter one where again we see the magnifying of the person of Christ and the most wonderful way Hebrews chapter one.
First one, God, first two.
Have spoken unto us.
In some what an expression for God to speak, not now through prophets and merely through his words that's given, but in the fullness of his Son he is now speaking.
Verse 3.
Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person.
I think that's in keeping with our image of our verse 15 and then.
Is brought out is create our ship.
As explained in verse 60.
16 is enlarged on that last expression, the 1St 15.
Or by him.
Were all things created?
That are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be Thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created by him and for Him.
Have to glance at the last verse at Romans 11, Romans 11, verse 36.
Or of him. That's the source, the source of all of him and through him. That's the channel of all.
And it could read for him, for his own benefit primarily.
But I've also in Revelation in the end of chapter 4.
For all things for me and all things to do him.
Be glory for heaven.
The 61St goes back, I say, way beyond the first genesis of the time.
By Him we're all things created that are in Him that on earth that is for Him that, and then it brings in strong dominions and principalities of power. All things are created by Him and for Him.
That is all. The angelic hope. They were the invisible faith. We learned that.
Some of the angels kept not their first state.
Well, this takes in though before that occurred it's as they were created by him and for for his glory and then before all things.
His eternal being.
All we need to say my truth.
Is getting the first of John in the beginning while the word and the word Smith draws the word was dog all things.
For created mind without him was not anything made of faith, or he was before.
Anything in this universe was created, he was in existence before creation began that verse 18 of a chapter 17. I believe that it is just threw us his way brings the eternal sonship to say that no man has seen God at any time the only begotten son.
Which is in the bosom of the Father. He had declared him and somebody raised a question saying, you show me sometime when he was not in the freedom of the thought. So that's blessed, isn't it? We have the eternal sonship of God. Bless the Lord Jesus. I believe in this world.
00:25:04
He wasn't the bosom of the Father. Yes. Well then he's close N all within that full life, and came to earth to make it known that we have tried. No. Wonderful, isn't it?
That John said that and not another because John will lean the bun Jesus bosom and he would know some of the secret. So he speaks much love and one has often enjoyed this blessed food Today. You have the transfiguration in the Gospel of Matthew. You have the transfiguration of our blessed Lord Jesus and the Gospel of Mark.
You have this configuration of our blessed Lord Jesus and the Gospel of Lord, but you have no transfiguration in the Gospel of John, because he is the very glory of God. From the very first verse till the end of the Gospel of John this is.
Figures all through the Gospel. John is the only one who was president of the poor evangelist at this transfiguration.
No, no, beginning had he who was eternity.
William Kelly And again the expression has been used.
This in the beginning is the beginning list. Beginning. He is the I am Hebrews 1-2. Further in that chapter He maketh his Angel spirit, His ministers of flame, of fire. But unto the sun he sat, I thrown no God.
Forever and ever. He was never made anything.
Became like precious.
Well, that leads us on to another exit, which we get in the 81St.
Then said that you get in this after three double s.
Get 2 heads, you'll get.
Two reconciliation that you get 2 ministries.
Redoubled Well, we've considered one of the hedges is hedges is creative when you get to the.
18th verse.
We can have headships in connection with the Church at that 18th verse. He is the head of the body of the Church who has the beginning, the first born from the dead, and in all things he might have the preeminence.
Although the emphasis is put on the first born from the dead.
When it is active in creation.
It's the incarnation.
Coming into this world of the man, he took his place as ketchup over the creative to which he entered.
But when he became the head of the body of the Church, it was his resurrection and right brother, Yes, that's right. With that 71St and by him, all things consist.
That is, not only did he create the mental beings, but it's by him that they consist. They go on held together. Man tries to figure out why they go on and he may find out some of the laws of government, but here's the one that's by him. All things consistently didn't joke say to the hang of the earth, but nothing yes yes.
Five things by him, all things that subsist.
Because that not mean that they're held together.
Yes, I believe so and in Hebrews one another that other lovely chapter is the first thing they have He uphold us all things by the word of his power, which is similar truth is makes us think of that him through worlds on the dependence.
Fell apart. That's when he was here in this world. Well, when he was here as a lowly man, Why? The world was on him. Work attendance.
00:30:07
He had only to speak creation response.
Intention lives and calls for the fact that from the Lord he has to mention one man's name, for the cemetery would have been empty. He had to say letters.
For the same one that Paul Lazarus is the one that raised all that are in their grades.
So the Lord was still restored.
Storm and Sea of Galilee. And so everything is kept in perfect sound creation by His almighty power.
Believe it, doesn't job doesn't it be set his heart upon man, or a new translation is to be thought only of itself. Gathered unto himself, his breath, and his spirit, all flesh would perish together.
And man would return again to the dust. That is, He's not only the Creator, but He is the one who sustains all. And if He wasn't sustaining us right now, the whole group of us would just fall over on our chairs. Well, it's a tremendous thought for us to think of that. He not only gave us life, not only gave His Son to redeem us, but this One who is the image of the invisible God.
He is sustaining us in life.
At will for all eternity and the blessedness of the seed into which He is bringing us. I was thinking in connection with this of the 24th of Genesis.
Father, when that servant went down and talked to Rebecca, he speaks of a son being born to Abraham in his old age and into his hand. Abraham had committed all he had to watch his headship.
Over the whole of the possession that were were Abraham, but now he brings into something else. He said he has sent me to get a bribe for this map, this one who is the head over all of these and a half hands.
Now it comes to get a bride for him. It is not lovely. That's just what we have here. We have the glory of this one that is the image of the invisible God. And then the Spirit of God shows us that He is picking out of bride and true grace. Fear part of that bride.
And he is the head of the body, the church, and we are brought into association with that one, to share with him all of his his. But is the glory of his person. And that was the work of the servant. Indeed, we might say.
Let us fly. The Spirit is not mentioned in Colossians except once your love is the Spirit. The Spirit of God is mentioned in Ephesians because it's what the church is to Christ and the work of the Spirit there is brought before us.
But when he is extolling the glories of Christ, he hides himself and sits before us, that blessed One who is to have the preeminence in all things, and the Spirit still delights to occupy us with the glory of that lot.
Nice to notice too and connected with what you are saying about.
Island.
And it's after Isaac had been taken up to the mouth and Abraham had offered him up on the altar and took the knife to slay it. Worst we know that God didn't mark Abraham go the full length while he went through and offering up his whole response, God stopped him and Iran.
Bought in the thicket by his horns, Offered said.
But still scripture looks upon what Abraham faith led him to do as though he had actually offered him up for it says in the 11Th chapter of Jesus by faith Abraham when it was tried offered us highly, and he that had received the promises offered up his only son, accounting that God was able to.
00:35:00
Raises from the dead once awful he received him a figure.
So from my 22nd chapter of Genesis where he did Abraham offering of Isaac, Isaac is considered from that time on as a type of the risen man. And then the perfect order, the 24th chapter that you referred to.
Is the service.
For the the one who had been, as it were. Instead, God has raised all that is in perfect keeping with what we have here as to Christ being the head of the body.
As the Risen One, our 20th verse.
We've had the forest.
All of the fullest dwelling in him and God has been brought to man. That didn't bring man back to God. He had to have what we have here in the 20th verse. That's not so. And having made peace by the flood of his props, by him to reconcile all things for that brought about that wondrous reconciliation.
Last night in the gospel we had.
Come for all things are now ready. This is not it, all things are now ready. If we may dwell further on some thoughts in the 18th 1St.
He is.
Behave.
Of the Body, the Church, who is.
The beginning.
Himself is the beginning.
The first born from among the dead. Now I believe that Revelation chapter 3 and verse.
14.
Is related to this truth.
In the last half of 1St 14 is the Amen.
The faithful and true witness. Now here we have.
The beginning of the creation of God. That is the new creation, and it commences with Himself. He is the beginning.
The first born from among the dead.
Out of death the Lord Jesus writers as himself seemed like and that, I believe, is remarkably beautiful in our castle. We say that it's it's an answer to the state of things that Laodicea because they were being occupied with the first creation.
Let him increase with goods and have need of nothing. What is the answer to all this? We're surrounded by much of the first creation that looks very attractive to us. But here we have been brought to a new creation. We've been brought to gaze upon that one who is the center of that new creation.
Well, that was the antidote to the condition of things that existed in Laodicea.
And surely we're living in those very days. We find that lukewarmness coming into our hearts on here. The Spirit of God in this precious chapter, as He did to them in the latter De Laodicea, things before us, the beginning, the one who is the beginning of that new creation scene into which we shall shortly be ushered and to which we already belong.
To Grace.
There is another way of putting a little verse that most of you know, and then we'll add a little bit to it.
Everything. Savings fading fast, all the stamps, the dead start, cats. Only one life will soon be passed. Only new life in Christ will last. Robert Glenna has it. What would you say to a dying man?
Said I'm trying to make my beef soup dark in connection with 20th birthday.
00:40:01
Mr. Darby said. Already made, Too late, Already made. Remember that story? Darby was walking, I think it was in New York City.
Or he was standing somewhere and the young lady came along who was a Christian.
And ask him if he has made his peace with God.
And he shook his head. He said it's too late. And he said, oh, it's never too late to make your peace with God. He said, it's too late, already been made.
The connection with this place of the preeminence of blessed Lord Jesus.
Asked in the new creation, one is thinking of a Philippian chapter 2. The depth of the humiliation that our blessed and Lord Jesus went through.
But then after that we read that verse nine verse God to those who have highly exoted them and given him a name which is about every name that at the name of Jesus, the precious name of Jesus.
Every knee she found of things in heaven, things on earth, and things impermanible unto the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This is the glory of God, the power. But a phrase of a preeminence. This is great. He isn't.
He is waiting, brother.
Philippians.
There is a question of following the need for the glory of that one. Isn't it within our chapter here where it's a question of reconciliation?
Things under the earth are left out. They will not be reconciled.
I was thinking of that in the 20th verse, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile.
All things unto himself.
By him I say, whether they be faintly in earth or things, but those beneath the earth are left up. No reconciliation for those.
Shows the difference. Doesn't not bother between submission and reconciliation together.
Every knee must bow to that blessed One.
I'll have to submit to him. There will be no reconciliation as there is today.
You know we mustn't pass over the 19th verse or please the Father, that him should all form as well. You notice the Father is in the valley.
So it's misleading the way the translators all understanding.
The feeling what they were translated to, the reason that all the poor displays as well as him.
That is, in Christ as man the fullness of the God had to see, so the Lord and Philip fries, Lord Joyce, the Father. He says, have I been for long with me, and yet hast thou not the people? He that hath seen me have seen the Father.
And the Lord fell defy by the Spirit of God.
Cast out devils. So the Lord acted only by the guidance of the Spirit of God, and the Father was seen in Him, and yet He was the Eternal from the Creator here in this world as man, so we see all.
The Godhead in the sun, in his pathway here below, and that goes right on to the cross.
It's all about the crop. You get up the street first because the dog head there and you read in the 9th chapter of Hebrews.
When he had by himself Earth. No, that is the verse. I'll have to read it. The 9th chapter of Hebrew.
Go through the Eternal Spirit.
00:45:00
Holds the spirit there, offered himself there, and his son.
Without after God compare God to fall think your father is to say brother Hale that every act of God was always in Trinity, whether it's been creation or redemption or whatever way we do it. I believe it's I believe that's very important what you brought out because.
That's all I brought before us before it speaks of reconciliation.
Or it's the first who gives value to the work. There's an attack made upon the person of Christ. By then the works, the value of the work is taken away. But if we see who this one is, who has accomplished redemption, who has made peace through the blood of His cross, why then we think about One and whom all the fullness of the God as well?
Can there be any questions? I'll be satisfaction of the Godhead in connection with this whole work that has been accomplished. Why the whole God had come? Was it 1 despite as always, but as Ashley brought before us here in connection with the Lord Jesus here as fast as we have in the next chapter. In Him dwelleth all the fullness that God had.
What about the expression here, the blood of his cross?
Well, we have two reconciliations spoken of here been mentioned and in this first, it's more the reconciliation by power I believe.
As the next verse, the 21St verse, while that you have he reconciled we were alienated by wicked works and now directed sound body display.
But I leave here and reconciling all things to himself. It is by power, and I believe that where we have the expression the cross brought in, it's replaced the world game.
And so the blood of these cross while the world is going to have to answer for shedding his **** on the truck.
And so that will come in and judge in the.
John 129 The Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. I believe this is brought in here.
In connection to this reconciliation by power, as well as, of course, our things are included in that.
That be your thought? Yes, Brother Harrison is well understand the full scope of the meaning of.
John 129 Before the Lamb of God, let it have a citizen to do the translation.
Fair away the sin of the world.
That is with Jesus Christ is not only the mean, but God granted for your salvation is mine.
But as the ground upon which God will bring in.
The power of a new thing of glory.
Where everything is your.
As to ignore.
To a one who has wrought redemption at such a cost.
For the present creation exhausted glory as Creator. The heavens declare the glory of God firmly to His handiwork. For this new theme of creates help to involve the glory of Christ as Redeemer.
Clearly our Creator.
And we also say this in connection with having made peace through the blood of his cross. Our brother remarked the guilt of land and having crucified him. Well, if someone was to send the ambassador to this country and he was shamefully put to death, it wouldn't promote peace. It would certainly provoke a state of war.
At least bad feeling. But how marvelous the thing that God to tell all his hearts and math, sent his own Son into the world. And what did the world do? They gave him the most shameful death possible. But what has God brought out of that work? All, beloved brethren, He has brought a boat, a new scene of glory.
00:50:21
Where that Blessed One who was crucified will be the center of it all.
And we're all what God is is light and love will be fully manifested. And I believe that the thought here is both precious when we think of our horrible jokes and what we did to God side and to think instead of bringing what we deserve upon us. He's made peace through the blood of his cross and he has brought.
Us didn't know what was in his heart for an empathy.
To be reconciled.
For the thought I believe in reconciliation is having great thoughts, having our attitude change toward another. Thou marvelous of that that not only is there going to be this new seat of glory, but everything in it is to be suited to the minds and character of God. And then as the next verse brings them, we.
Go Through Grace are part of every company.
We'll be able to enjoy all within His heart, having been revealed as the Son. Why? I think it's a marvelous problem. We think of the taste through the blood of His cross.
Because not Ephesians chapter two he has a several verses. Ephesians chapter 2 verses 13 to 16.
Covers the same truth in a little different way.
Ephesians 213.
But now in Christ Jesus.
Sometimes were far off.
Are made nigh by the blood of Christ, for He is our peace, who have made both bond and have frozen down the law of partition between us, having abolished in His flesh the enmity.
The endlessly think of it. In Romans 8 we're told that the mind of the flesh is tendency to God. There's no cure for that. Nevertheless, God takes that same person, melts the heart and and by his grace he brings it back to himself.
One in verse 15.
For to make in himself a plain 1 Newman, so making these, and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross.
First of the theme of the ground. But the thing stopped and came and fixed peas to you which were far off, and to them that were alive. And I think it was the way to the apostle Apostle Peter when he was sent to Cornelius. They run to Cornelius, and those that were there preaching sees by Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all.
You are a saying, Father Hail that reconciliation is a complete change of thought captures toward one where there was some misunderstanding or some feeling or empathy.
Would you not be illustration that state and the return of the prodigal on his way back from our country?
He was thinking, will my father receive the House of service? Trying to offer if his father would take him back after all the way he had his honor, just work as a service.
When it comes to the fight of the form, the Father runs the meeting, throws his arms around it just He says nothing about making me as one of our hard services. He just says I have thinned against heaven, and in thy sight no more worthy to be called, or I come. Well, he gets a complete.
00:55:01
Change to the heart of his father if there was any better than if there was any enmity towards his father. It was all God He disclosed in the best role brought in where there's music.
I all that had stood between him and his father's daughter. Well, the redeemed Velma.
Enjoy this but also the full war creation will benefit by it. It says in the 8th chapter of Romans that the whole creation grown up and travel us together and pain together until now and we wouldn't realize how much the whole creation is suffering as a result of sin.
When the head of creation fell and was found.
Lord creation, even the trees and the whole creation suffered as a result of it, of God is going to lift the whole creation. And so it's lovely in that age of Romans and says the creature itself shall be delivered from the ******* of corruption and to the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
And in the 55th chapter of Isaiah.
And there's the mountains, and the hills shall break forth before you in the singing, and all the trees of the field shall flat their hands. Oh, what a wonderful time it will be when God delivers the whole creation from the results of sin. And even the heavens are not clean in His sight, because of our brother brought before us last night.
The angels have fallen.
The whole by spin of there's going to be a new creation where things animate and inanimate through all the students to God's mind. Apple reveals that which is in his heart for the blessing of man and in the 4th chapter of Revelation where the Lord Jesus is about to take his rightful place.
The alley their Thou hast created all things before thy pleasure they are of word created. Than in the 5th chapter we have redemption.
And so we're going to see a scene of creation where God will be able to find his full pleasure and all. How wonderful to have a people in association with himself who are the objects of Islam and can fully enjoy his heart and all within us, I believe rather than.
Opened up to us here. A marvelous queen. We're going to be there.
Loaded in 513.
It gives an expression to that one verse. Revelation 513.
And if I may read, the 1St 12 is leading up to it first 12?
Worthy is the Lamb that was slave to receive power and riches and wisdom.
And strength and honor, and glory and blessing #13.
And every creature is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I say.
Blessing and honor and glory and power be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the land forever. Antenna. Actually I think the next word and the floor beats said Amen. And the floor is when the elders fell down and worshiped him that liveth forever and ever.
These four beasts are four living creatures. Are the chariot them, aren't they?
They represent to us God's governmental ways in connection with the earth. Well, when we look out upon the earth now, everything seems to be in a state of confusion, as if Satan had really accomplished purposes and ruined the whole thing.
01:00:01
Well God is ruling and in the first chapter of Ezekiel where Ezekiel was there with the captains by the river chief bar.
Saw these people of God and sorrow and misery that he looked up and he saw a bomb, a throne in the corner who was sitting and there was one sitting on the throne. He saw one that was overlooking while here when we come to this chapter, we see the time but all these governmental ways would come to an end.
And as God in the statement in anything that he has done.
Has he allowed anything that shouldn't have been allowed? Oh, I think this is beautiful, the four living creature said. Amen. God has been accomplishing His own purposes in everything that has taken place in the whole world and in the lives of believers. Rather, we may not understand some of His ways now.
Some of them may cause a sorrow and grief bring tears to our eyes.
I went through that day and we see how that all has been accomplished according to God's purposes. We'll join too and say Amen, Amen. And we'll be among the ones who will fall down and worship Him. You'll know that all of the purpose for us has been carried out.
Allowed 1% and what you can think two brothers, your futurists when you read in the 21St verse and heal that were sometimes alienated and enemies in your mind by working for us yet now what is that now?
As we reckon, all you have is, we said, to reconciliation.
1/3 is the prettiest person.
One considered in the 21St versus President.
Where indeed looking forward to last day of glory.
Marbles to speak of all creation being brought in the first place.
But oh how unfitly blessed for our hearts as we sit together and looking into God's Word. It's in fact.
To consider that we have already ourselves been reconciled.
You that were sometimes alienated, animated in your mind.
Oh faith, the human mind is being a way to resolve your quality is the same as hell.
The mind of mind or ways to God is the placing of the devil.
How bad is when we think of what our poor minds are capable of?
Inventing.
And bringing back and then to think that that was such a state has been reconciled. There's been a submission to the divine will of God.
And I believe whenever that works of reconciliation has taken place.
It's just as divine, it's just as eternal in its duration as God Himself.
No change in that.
That's all. That's a complete and the final word. That's where the first takes place.
The living in days when man's mind is being greatly exalted.
For the God of this world and flying at the mind of them that believe not and I believe there's never a time when it's more worth that we should read the word of God, because in this we have the mind of God made no and if we allow our minds to go to work and don't bring them into the sufficient to God's revelation.
We're going to get into great darkness. I would say to each one of especially young people going to college, there's much that you have to learn.
But remember always, thou in the revelation of God, it will lead you to something that you can never, never learn in the schools, because it will never the schools of this world. Apart from divine revelation. There will be no knowledge of what we have here, what land is going to accomplish but here.
01:05:23
God is making his mind known and He would have us to enjoy.
All that he would reveal to us in connection with that one, who is going to bring this about?
Our first here, the last clause was the 21St. There's not even go beyond what we have in the 5th of Revelation, that is, the things in heaven being reconciled by power.
In the second affliction, and all where we have there, every knee should bow, and every tongue to the best.
Speaks about the things under the earth there while that expression there is in front of these, but in the 5th revelation, the things under the earth it is doesn't take in infarity. It takes in the furrowing animals, the animal creation. But what we have here goes beyond.
It takes in the cleansing of the hem, casting out.
Of those wicked spirits, and having replaced Satan himself will be cast out, but.
The best of revelation. It merely digs in the creation here man and.
And the animal creation like in the eighth of Romans.
And of course the angels rejoice in whatever that, but it doesn't speak there of the infernal beings.
With this monopoly, why the emphasis is on blood?
We might think that the creation as well as would be the power of God, but in these two reconciliations that are mentioned, the emphasis on the blood of this cross has been find in the evil 10 almost all things that.
Are.
And almost all things are by the law, first blood without shedding of blood is no remission.
Include the whole work of reconciliation, not only the person, not only we as people, which is the.
Rather.
The translation of Mr. Darby's at the end of our verse.
Reads a little different. Alienated anemones in your mind. Garlic is worse yet, now, hath it? I notice not he, but it reconciled. Well, that's the first fact, the beginning of verse 20.
Having made peace.
Through these blood of his cross. The blood of his cross is what this it refers to the blood of it. You know, I I have spoken out of murder. I want you to have a good, fair chance to get this corrected. I applaud his brother.
That by the blood of his cross.
That has won the heart of you and me and every redeemed 1.
These wooden and metal crosses they put up on buildings.
So many.
Are not what really counts. It is the blood of His cross that God has made us to appreciate.
Is one of the deepest things in the hearts of all of His redeemed love is the blood of His cross.
Now I would like to hear another brother. I'm sure someone here may correct me. I, I love correct. Well, I think what you say is correct. There's blood.
But I believe you're coming forward. That is, it covers our reconciliation and reconciliation at all in that the world has an answer for that blood being shed on the cross. What exactly? He redempted power for us.
01:10:01
If they're not the thought in itself.
In the 20th birth it says in the new translation I believe the reconcile all things under itself and then again if reconciled does not refer to the Godhead, it please the father or brother mentioned that the word father is in italics. It is really.
The whole Godhead.
Please, the whole Godhead, that is Him, should all fullness dwell, and now in this new creation it's reconciling to itself. That is, it's the perfect mind of the whole God had to this take place.
In the person of the Lord Jesus, of course, with the blood of his cross. That is the ground, but I would suggest that the tips help in the 20th, 1St and the given the 21St verse that refer to the Godhead brother Harrison to define firm of being for the sake of those were younger. Well the end of normal beings are those fallen creatures.
You see in our 16th purse.
Be created all things in heaven that aren't earth visible and investment one other some business power. You can see for instance here we're in the Dominion of Canada. Well, that's one of the powers and there's strong and dominions.
Well, those are things that are visible. Well then the.
Principality and powers, I believe that refers to the angelic hope they worry they were created by God, they were created by him and for him. But we learned though that some of these.
Principality powers are wicked spirits. 60 Ephesians tells us that.
Well, I would I would say that the inferno means it referred to those.

Like you to turn with me to the 12Th chapter of Hebrews. Hebrews chapter 12.
Verse 18.
We are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and a burned with fire, nor under blackness and darkness, and Tempest, and the sound of a trumpet in the voice of words, which voice they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.
For they could not endure that which was commanded, and if so much as a beast touched the mountain.
It shall be stoned, or thrust through with the dark. And so terrible was the sight that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake. But ye are come unto the Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, the General Assembly and Church of the first born, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and of the spirits of.
Made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel, See that you refuse not him that speaketh, or if they escape not, who refused him that spake on earth.
Much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven.
Whose voice then shook the earth, but now he hath promised, saying.
Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word yet once more signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Wherefore we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear, for our God is a consuming fire. Shall we just turn to 2nd Corinthians chapter 5? Second Corinthians chapter 5?
And verse 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us.
Because we lost Judge that if one died for all, then we are all dead.
And He died for all that they which lived should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh? Yeah, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more. There. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.
All things are passed away. Behold all things.
Are become new. It has been said that the Epistle to the Hebrews as an epistle of contrast, contrasting various things in the first chapter, the way that God spoke in the Old Testament through the prophets. Now he has spoken in his Son.
And the glory of that Blessed One is brought before us in contrast with all others, even angels. And then through the epistle we see his work contrasted with those sacrifices of Judaism, the way into approach, into his presence in the Old Testament.
The high priest once a year contrasted with the blessing that we have, being able to approach into the presence of God with holy boldness and without fear. But when we come to the end of this epistle, it seems to me that the Spirit of God would apply these things to our hearts in such a way as to draw on our affections and cause us to want to live to Him.
And all how important this is?
Because we are living in days when everything is being shaken.
But we have here, young people, some things that cannot be shaken.
We have a sure foundation, and unless we have a sure foundation to stand upon, why surely we may see the shaking of the very things that we thought were well established in this world. And so in this chapter here we have, I just might mention in the first part, we have the Lord Jesus.
Set before us, it says, looking under Jesus.
The author and finisher of faith, that is the Spirit of God attracts us to that one.
00:05:01
Who lost the path of faith perfectly, and so were pointed to him and encouraged to lay aside every week, and the sin which does so easily beset us. And then the second part of the chapter we have chastisement brought before us, and that is God's ways with us in child training. The disappointments and sorrows of life, and how God uses them in order to draw our hearts.
Word and tells us to lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees and to make straight paths for our feet. In other words, if one might put it simply like this, if the love of Christ. If occupation with the Lord Jesus does not cause us to want to follow him, then perhaps he brings trials into our lives so that we would realize that those things that.
Thought were worthwhile living for were only the passing things of time. And how often through the trials of life we are made to see that things here are not of a permanent character and that we have something better awaiting us. How brand it is to go and visit a sick one and those things that he has once held on to.
Very, very steadily. They're beginning to be shaken.
And to see him looking under Jesus, to see him through that trial.
Closer to the Lord Jesus. And dear young people, you have disappointments too. You have trials. There are things that come into your life and perhaps your outlook is very frustrating at times and you wonder why God allows these things to come. What do you know? It's because He wants you to have your affections set upon things above.
He's seeking to set before you.
Those things that are really yours, that belong to you with Christ in glory. And it's a good thing to learn these things while we're young. Sometimes we think, well, we would expect this from those that are older because they've had a lot of experience along the way. But God teaches us some of these things when we're young, and it's a good thing if we would take even those.
Frustrations and disappointments.
Means that God is using to make us realize that those things in this world.
That looks so attractive to our young hearts. They are not abiding they are going to pass away.
They belong to those things that can be shaken, but we have something that cannot be shaken.
And then where we began to read, we have the giving of the law. And this is very beautiful in this connection because.
We you might say, well, God is requiring something of me that I find it hard to give.
He expects something of Maine. That seems unnatural for me as a young person.
But he tells us that he hasn't brought us to Mount Sinai, where the law was given.
But he has brought us instead to Mount Zion. That is, He hasn't.
Brought us to that place where He makes known His demands to us in such a way as to strike terror into our hearts.
So I'm going to even Moses said I do exceedingly fear and quake. But when he makes known his mind and will to us, and this to my heart is precious, this was what I was thinking of particularly when he makes known his mind and his heart to us, he speaks from heaven.
He opened the vision of the glory that awaits us up there and said, I'm talking to you from this very scene of blessedness and I'm encouraging you to live to please me. Wasn't that grand? Oh, it's not, I say, coming to you with the voice of terror and demanding of you, something that you might find hard to give, but the Lord Jesus.
Has done everything that love could do to win your heart and mind.
What more could he do to win our hearts? And I think this is so precious here, to see him as the one who has gone up on high and right from heaven. He looks down and he says, dear young person, haven't I done everything that love could do to win your heart? You pick up the magazine, you see some picture of a new invention. You see some.
00:10:00
Scenery of another land and you say I'd like to go and see that?
That looks so beautiful. I like to have an automobile like that, or I like to have a home like that. Yes, those things coming from possessions that you don't have and places that you have not been, they appeal to you. But the Lord is speaking to you from heaven. You're a young person. He's there and He's your best friend.
He's done more for you than the dearest friend you have on earth, and no failure on your part.
Could ever change his log towards you? Indeed, this chapter brings that out. It tells us that when he corrects us, it's in love and it's for our profit. Sometimes as parents we correct our children. What we do it for our own pleasure. We often ask them to do things because it's for our pleasure. We tell them to be quiet because they're bothering us. We tell them to do things because it make it easier for us.
But isn't it marvelous to think?
That God our Father loves us so well. He said. I will never bring one trial into your life that isn't for your good. It's for our prophet that we might be partakers of His Holiness. He doesn't correct us in wrath, He corrects us in love.
And so it brings out the contrast here. Moses saw that mount where the law was given Mount Sinai. And it said, he said, I exceedingly fear and quake. And perhaps if I stood up here and started to talk to you of the things that you ought to do, it might arouse resentment in your heart.
It might cause you to say I don't like to hear the way he speaks.
Always demanding something, but I think this is lovely here. My precious Savior from heaven said, I'm not speaking to you now from Mount Sinai. I'm speaking to you from heaven itself. And he gives us a little view here of that heavenly city. Isn't this lovely, the city of the living God, the grandest cities on earth.
Are shaken sometimes earthquakes come. Tornadoes come.
Fine buildings are taken down and others are put up. New highways are built and almost before they're finished they're wishing they could change them a little because we're living in a scene where everything changes.
What we have before us, the city of the living God, a city that will never need to be replanned, a city that will never need a new invention to make it any better. There will be no improvements in the homes up there.
So we know better cars coming out next year than there were this year. Everything will be the ultimate of supreme happiness and blessing. And when the vision of it was opened up to John, God said, behold, I make all things new.
Write, for these words are true and faithful. Oh my God, open up to your soul a little picture which the Lord Jesus here is seeking to open up to you, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.
I might say that the comma should be after General Assembly here.
It's to an innumerable company of angels, the universal gathering, that is. Angels now are ministering spirits sent forth the minister for them, who shall be heirs of salvation. But we're going to occupy a higher place than the angels.
He hasn't put the world to come in subjection to the angels. We think of those angelic beings that are greater in power and might, but he said they're going to be gathered in and you're going to have a more wonderful place than the angels. And one might speak in this way when we get to glory the angels, which are now around the throne, discharging God's will.
Are going to move back and the redeemed are going to take the nearest place to the throne.
Yes, those mighty beings who never sinned.
Don't have as wonderful a future before them as you do, dear young person, You have a grand future before you. Those angels, those ungealous beings will step back to give you the nearest place. Perhaps you've gone to some place. When you got there, the crowds were so great. You said, oh, I couldn't get near enough to have a good look. There were such crowds. Did you ever go any place where they stepped back and said, well, we'll let you.
00:15:10
Nearest place, but God says to the angels, move back.
My redeemed people are coming. And so in the 5th chapter of Revelation we see in the inner circle there the ones around the throne, the redeemed, the ones who sing the choir of heaven, and they sing without worthy. For thou slain and hast redeemed this to God by thy blood, out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation.
And this made us unto our God, kings and priests.
And we shall reign over the earth, you say. Well, I have a responsibility to.
Try and do my part in this world. I know they tell you that at school. They say you have a place to feel in your community, in your country.
But you and I have a place to fill in the first righteous government.
This world has it's going to have righteous government someday.
Jesus is going to reign in righteousness and God is preparing us through the things that we pass through here.
This is our schooling, and he's preparing us for the place, reigning with him. And as we had yesterday, if we suffer with him, we shall also reign with him. Jonathan didn't want to suffer with David, so he missed the privilege of being associated with David when the Kingdom was established. And if you and I try to shirk the suffering, we're going to miss part of the joy.
Of reigning there with Christ.
Well, we have the universal gathering of the angels and then.
The Church of the First Born, which are written in heaven.
He will talk about the church role, a church role, while a church rolls in heaven. And if your name is on a church roll down here doesn't mean very much. It doesn't mean very much because you might have it there and not be saved at all.
But if your name is written in heaven, you will be there, you will be among that wonderful company who will occupy that place and association with the Lord Jesus as part of His bride, a Church of the first born which are written in heaven. One of you is opened up to the soul, the Spirit of God here pointing to us, giving us a picture.
Of that scene and of which we are soon to be ushered.
And speaking to us from that place, sometimes there will be a broadcast.
Miles away, a man will be speaking from the very place. He will look around. I say he will see something and he will describe it. Hello. You're not there. Well, here is a voice from heaven. Isn't this more wonderful than anything you could listen to over any of the world's conveniences or ways of broadcasting news? Here's a voice that speaks to you from a scene of glory.
The Church of the First Born.
Which are written in heaven and to God the Judge of all. We might be surprised why that should come in here.
But also wonderful is the place into which the believers brought that we have No Fear. The judge is the one who gave his son to die for us. Like the little child her father has. The judge in the courtroom, he has condemned the man to death.
The death sentence has been passed by that very man. And he walks out. He comes to his home. He gets out of his car and his little girl comes and throws his arms around his neck. A neighbor said, well, that's the judge just condemned the man to die today. A little girl says, that's my daddy. That's my daddy. Oh, isn't it wonderful?
That that one who is going to be the judge?
Is the one who loved you, gave his son to die for you? All beloved young people, There's No Fear in love. Perfect love cast without fear. That's why it says in that passage in first John. I believe it's the fourth chapter.
That we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world.
We don't have to wait till the judgment day to find out there are those who are living in fear, hoping that when the judgment day comes, everything will be all right. But here the Lord Jesus speaks from heaven, and he tells us of that scene, and he speaks of the Judge of all, but tells us that we're part of the bride.
00:20:22
That were part of the Church of the first born, which are written in heaven. Oh how beautiful this is, and of the spirits of just man made perfect. That is the Old Testament Saints. For all in heaven will not be part of the bride. The Church is the bride of Christ.
All said, I have espoused you as a chaste virgin to Christ. You had your choice of the time in which you'd like to live.
You couldn't live in a more wonderful time. The Old Testament Saints are going to be in heaven.
But they will not occupy the wonderful place we occupy. They will not be part of the Bride of Christ. They will be there. They will sing His praises. They will know His love in a wonderful way, but not in the same blessed way that you and I will know it.
And then it says and to Jesus the mediator.
Of the new Covenant, and of the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things.
The land of Abel. Why, when the first covenant was made, it was conditional on man's obedience.
The first covenant.
Said this, do and thou shalt live.
I am forfeited all right, the blessing on that ground, but we were brought to the one who is the mediator of the new covenant.
And his blood speaks better things than that of Abel.
And God looked down upon the blood of Abel. That blood called for vengeance.
But he looked down. He saw this world mail his son to a cross. He saw that soldier with a spear.
Crossed his side, and as he looked upon that blood, he said that blood calls for blessing for man. Blessing is not marvelous. God looked upon that soldier putting a spear into the side of the Savior, and he said that blood cleanses from all sins could love the greater.
If you ill treated someone would you expect him to love you the more for it? Not naturally would we?
But this world ill treated the Son of God. Your heart and mind cried away with him.
But what does he do in return? He looks upon that stoop, blood, thy blood shed on Calvary, and says that it cleansed us from all sins. Yes, that precious Savior up there speaks to you. Listen to these words. See that she refused, not him that speaketh all. Is there an unsaved 1 here?
Are you refusing that precious savior? Are you turning your ear away from one who loves you like that?
Are you saying no to his entreaties of love and mercy? Remember, if you do, you'll meet him as a judge. You'll meet him in the same character in which he was made known at Mount Sinai when the old boy demands were made of man. Because apart from the blood of Christ, God requires that every transgression and disobedience.
Receives a just recompense of reward.
God does not Passover sin. Sin must be punished, but for us.
We can say judgment is passed. One is often said judgment is either.
Ahead of you or behind you, if you know the Lord Jesus as your Savior.
You can say judgments behind for me the Lord Jesus bore my judgment, but if not, it's ahead for you see that you refuse, not him that speaketh. Could I believe we could also apply this to those of us who know the Lord.
That you receive is not him that speaketh.
As your heart stirred by that voice.
I'm sure that if you love him, his love, his voice does touch your heart.
Think of Mary there as she stood at that grave and her tears were flowing.
And he heard that voice say, Mary, and she turned herself and said, Master, and the Lord Jesus is speaking to you. He is calling you by name, dear young person. He knows the tears that may dim your eyes. He knows the disappointments of life. Mary was thoroughly disappointed. She had expected the Lord to establish the Kingdom and to bring her into a place of blessing on the earth.
00:25:18
And all her hopes were frustrated.
Maybe you expected the Lord to make a Garden of Eden for you. Perhaps you did just what Mary did. She thought the Lord was the gardener. And perhaps you thought the Lord was the gardener for you. We're just going to turn your life into a wonderful, happy life. Rather be no disappointments, no frustrations, no sorrows. And you were disappointed. But he's still calling you.
There isn't saviors calling you. He's not the gardener to make a better place here.
To live, but he's gone up there. And he said, Mary, tell my brethren, I ascend them to my Father and your father, and to my God and your God. Mary heard his voice telling him that he was going up there. And this afternoon you hear his voice from heaven, and he's calling you by name.
Are you going to turn away? Are you going to say Lord?
If I can't have happiness in this life, life isn't worthwhile. Paul, he says. I have something better for you. I have something better. I'm speaking to you from heaven. I'm already there, and I'm coming again to receive you unto myself. See that you refuse, not him that speaketh.
Or if they escape not who refused, not him that spake on earth much more. Shall not we escape if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven? Whose voice then shook the earth? But now he has promised staying at once more I shake not the earth only, but also heavenly. Yes, there's going to be a shaking of everything in this earth.
I think we see something of it coming. I have felt in these last few years that we have seen in a certain sense, the beginning of those shaking things that were once considered sure things on which man once built their hope.
Things which were considered irrefutable have now been shaken. Boys and girls go to school. Things that we were taught at school, there's, there's told. Oh no, scientists don't think that anymore. We have a new conception of this thing. We have a new outlook and everything is being shaken.
Morals are being shaken. Everything in this world, we see it being shaped.
Family life is being shaken, and I believe, dear young people, the Lord leads us here very much longer. We're going to see a lot more of the shaking of the things that can be shaken. Yes, all those things. The conception of life and the whole basis of education and training and all that sort of thing. It's going through a period of change and it's changing so quickly.
That some of us who are a little older hardly know where we're at, and perhaps some of you or young people feel the same.
Everything changes so quickly that things that you want to thought were acceptable and things that you want based your thoughts and hopes upon your conceptions, your ideals are being shaken. With all dear young people, you have something that can't be shaken. You have a home above and that can't be shaken.
That home of armor is never going to be shaken.
The blessed things that belong to you up there, they're going to abide forever. They're not going to be shaken. Houses are not going to be pulled down to build new highways. They're not going to build newer and finer buildings. You have before you a home that can't be shaken. But there's more than that. You have one who can help you through this light.
You have already a Kingdom that cannot be shaken.
You get your ideas of life, your outlook on life, your morals, your conception of home life. You get that from the current periodicals. Well, if you do, I'm sure you have changing ideas. But if you have the precious word of God.
00:30:00
Why then you have something that abides?
Assembly, where you're gathered to the precious name of the Lord Jesus if it's established upon scriptural principles.
Why it's established upon something that can't be shaken. It doesn't have to change because men's ideas change because we have the word of God and the Lord Jesus said heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away. If your thoughts about what is becoming to the Lord in your conduct.
Are founded upon the word of God, then you have something that abides.
Morals may go to pieces in the world whom life may be greatly disturbed and broken up. We may see some terrible changes that will shock us if the Lord leaves us here. I'm quite prepared that they may come if the Lord leaves us here. But the word of God doesn't change. You have something that you can turn to. God didn't have to put out or revise addition of His truth.
The only reason we have revised editions of the Bible is because.
Of the translation, but God never had to change one page.
Of his precious word, never it abides. It's the truth of God.
And all dear young people, I can't impress upon you enough how thankful you should be for the precious Word of God.
All I plead with you, dear young people, read it, meditate upon it, live by it. The Lord Jesus said he that Edith made even he shall live by me. You follow the ideas of brethren. They may change, but not the word of God. Take God's word prayerfully. Consider it.
Ask Him to guide you. Ask Him for grace to walk in obedience to it.
And you'll have something that won't change, that won't be shaken. Oh, it's a wonderful thing when it says here we have a Kingdom which cannot be moved.
When they had that scare short time ago and they thought it was going to be war with Cuba.
While it was a great deal of talk of what was going to happen to the United States, they knew what bonds could do. But what gave my heart comfort was that I had a Kingdom that could not be shaken. Everything here is going to be shaken. This very earth in which we live is going to pass away. All is going to go through a period of change until it finally passes away.
But all how grand it is, how lovely it is.
We have a Kingdom which cannot be moved.
But now are we living for that? Are we living for it? The devil is doing his very best to hold in front of us all the time the glitter of present things. He is showing us how we mustn't be too set on these things because people's ideas change and we've got to accommodate ourselves to the day in which we live. But all I would plead with you, dear young people.
To live for those things.
That don't change. Live for the Lord Jesus, the love of Christ.
Constraineth us, I say. Love couldn't have done more for you than me.
Than it has done God's heart has been told out never worth it a time.
When God's heart was so wonderfully told out as it is right now.
And you and I can sit with our Bible underneath, and we can enjoy these precious things. All dear young people were wonderfully privileged.
And so it says, wherefore we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear, seeing we belong to another sphere, seeing we have something that can't be shaken.
Seeing our thoughts, our knowledge, perhaps I should say.
What is abiding comes from the one who can't change.
The one who said I am the Lord, I change not. We can take our stand upon the word of God.
And we can say we have something that doesn't change with a changing time, that we have a city before us that is abiding and that doesn't change. And now you, dear young people, in a few short hours, this whole assembly is going to be broken up. You're going to go to your home. This world that you've left for a little while to come to these meetings is going to present its glitter and its glamour.
00:35:19
Again, it's going to show you all those things. It's going to try and thrill your heart with all the things that men are discovering in the world today. But God is holding out before you. That scene of glory, the Lord Jesus that's still small voice speaks to your heart this afternoon. He speaks to you from heaven.
When you allow His love to constrain your heart. You and I were once dead. We were once part of this world of judgment before us, but now we belong to a new scene. We belong to heaven and all. I'd like to encourage you, not by laying down the laws of Mount Sinai before your heart, but by telling you that there's a voice speaking to you.
One who died for you. One who has the male Prince in his hand.
When whose blood was shed to cleanse you from sin? He's beckoning you to those blight and blessed things. He's seeking to step before you, those things that abide. And now let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably. As we go back to our homes again, may we have a fresh sense of His love. May we feel the magnetism of that love.
May we have allow our minds to be made by the things that God has set before us in His words, and may we look beyond all the glitter and all the tinsel, and all the changing things, to that voice that this afternoon calls us at. One that he speaks of in the second chapter was read to us this morning.
But we see Jesus, who has made a little lower than the angels.
For the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor. He's looking at you this afternoon. You hear his voice. He ought to have won your heart and mind. He's done everything he could to win it. May we be all like those wise men who when they had come up and they had seen the Lord Jesus there in the Manger in Bethlehem.
And presented their gift to him. It says they departed.
And went into their own country another way. What made the change?
All they had seen, the one who was King of kings and Lord of Lords, their whole idea of the world, all connected with it have been changed when they had had a glimpse of that one lying there in the Manger or in the house. But now the Lord Jesus speaks to you, redemption has been accomplished. He's in glory.
And now he says, I've done it. All the glory is open to you, it belongs to you. I've brought you to it. And now he's speaking to you. Don't refuse that voice.
Turn up, turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, and the light of His glory and grace. Let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.

DISCLAIMER: The following has been auto-transcribed. We hope it will help you to find the section of this audio file you are looking for.
I'd like you to turn with me tonight, please. First of all, to the prophet Isaiah.
The 64th chapter of Isaiah.
And the sixth verse, Isaiah chapter 64, verse 6.
But we are all as an unclean thing.
And all our righteousnesses are as.
Filthy rags.
We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rag.
Notice, my friend, the Word we and the Word our. For I feel that in telling us the gospel message tonight, that each and every one of us must remember that this message, this voice, is from the heart of God to each and every one of us. And so I dare not point the finger at you, my beloved friend, but I trust.
By the grace of God that each of us, myself most certainly includes.
They feel the very finger of God pointed at us as we read the solemn message of God's Word. We we are all.
As an unclean thing. Now this is not simply the statement of a man named Isaiah, and it is most certainly not my statement, but it is the word of God addressed to your heart and conscience and address of mine.
And I believe that faithfulness on God's heart, its faithfulness from his pen, that you and I should open the Word of God and find a statement like this. Would it be faithful of God to withhold from you and to withhold from me?
The true condition of our heart and His sight until that day, when too late and condemned, we stand before Him. I open this precious book, and although it condemns me utterly, I thank God for His faithfulness.
In revealing to me the true condition of my heart in His sight for the Word of God, make no mistake, reveal the heart of man in a solemn and a faithful and a truthful way. And so I say in all truth to each and everyone in this company, that your heart and mind at this very moment.
Is in either one or the other of two conditions.
The one condition is this. You stand under the eye of God.
Love and guilty and condemned and on your road to hell.
Or you stand before gone.
Save, redeem, pardoned and cleansed by the precious blood of Christ, and on your way home to the glory.
My dear friend, are you willing at this moment to answer in the depth of your heart, in the presence of God? In which of those conditions are you at this moment? It is either the one or the other. And I repeat, either. You are lost and guilty and condemned and on your road to hell.
Or you are saved.
Redeemed and cleansed by the precious blood of Christ, and on your way home to the glory, thank God, by his matchless grace, I say, although I was once in that awful condition and all the peril that went with it, that tonight, by the matchless grace of God, I stand here.
Saved and redeemed and cleansed by the precious blood of Christ.
And on my way home to the glory, to meet the one that loved me and died to redeem me. But the burden of many a heart in this company. And I have heard that burden expressed in prayer a few moments ago. The burden, I say of our hearts, is this, that you, my dear friend, whether it be a boy or a girl or one of the dear young people, or whoever you may be.
00:05:17
That this might, you too may know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. That this night you too may know that the heart of yours has been washed forever clean by the precious blood of Christ.
Before the meeting, I sought a quiet place in which to be before the Lord.
And I slipped here behind these curtains.
And knelt down to pray for strength and for a message from the Lord.
As I did so, I don't know who it was, but someone started to play music over here and over and over and over again. They played the melody. Have you counted the cost?
If your soul should be lost, though, you gain the whole world for your own.
Have you counted the cost if your soul should be lost?
Have you counted? Have you counted the cost?
It was borne in upon me most solemnly as I knelt there, and as that melody was repeated all over and over again.
That if the Lord spared us to this gospel meeting, there would be souls in this company that are lost.
Lost. Lost and on your road to hell. Have you counted the cost, my friend? And then, as I slipped away to the prayer meeting down the hall, one brother, I don't know who it was. Again, as he poured out his heart in prayer, he asked God that those who were present might count the cause of what an awful thing it would be to be lost.
Forever. It's a solemn thing, my friend.
To be lost here and now, for that is what the Word of God has to say as to the condition of your soul at this moment. If you do not know the Lord Jesus as your Savior, LOST, lost, I say it's solemn enough.
Lost here and now in the moments of time and in the day of God's grace, that I'll pause, my friend, and think of this, this very moment as you are sitting listening to the gospel of the grace of God at this moment, I say.
There are lost souls.
Beyond hope in a lost eternity.
And if the door of that prison house were open to this moment and you, my friend, could hear.
What goes on in that awful place of eternal darkness? It would solemnize your heart. These are not my words, but the words of the Lord Jesus Christ who loves your soul. Weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. For how long?
5-10 fifty years. It cannot be measured, my friend. The scripture says forever and forever.
Any wonder that our hearts are burdens that we cried to the Lord, that the message of the gospel of His grace may reach your heart this night?
That your eyes may be open at this very moment to see what an awful thing it is to be lost, and I would like, with the Lords help, to present the Gospel tonight.
From 4 verses which speak of four garments, and this is one.
We are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousnesses.
Are as the filthy rice we eat ourselves in the sight of God are spoken of as an unclean thing. Do you doubt the truth of that? Would you like to stand up and claim that you are not in this category? My friend? May I just make this suggestion if the record of your life?
With all its deeds, everyone.
With all the words you ever uttered, everyone, and with every thought that ever entered your mind.
00:10:00
We're written down here, and I began to read it aloud.
Would you bow to the truth of this verse? Does God hold you and me responsible for the thought of our hearts?
Do we not read in the 6th chapter of Genesis? Every imagination of the thought of man's heart was only evil continually. God knows the thoughts of your heart and mine. God knows the words that have come from your lips and mine.
God knows the deeds that we have done and He has recorded them everyone, and he has said we are all as an unclean thing. Shall I begin to read the record of your life?
You bow to this statement, my friend. It's true. You and I, under the eye of God, are accounted and unclean thing. Could you, could I stand at the gate of heaven and claim admission there on the record of my own life perhaps?
Perhaps we look around at others and feel that because other lives are dyed with more open stains than ours.
That we stand a little better chance than someone else but the word of God. Make no mistake my friend, the word of God says we are all as an unclean thing and.
All our righteousnesses are as filthy rag. This is the first garment and it's a very popular garment. Tomb. This garment was first formed in the Garden of Eden.
Adam and Eve when they knew that they had sinned and when they were aware of their nakedness.
They sewed together figlies and made themselves aprons. They sought to hide their nakedness and their guilt from the eye of God, but they soon found that that could not be done. But we need not point back over the pages of history and accuse Adam and Eve.
Where I feel, my friend, that everyone of us has been guilty of the same thing. In fact, I was just recently struck in opening the scripture and reading Adam and Eve making these coats of skins. And we turn over to the New Testament and we find another man.
Aprons of fig leaves, I should say. We turn over to the New Testament and we find another man whose name was Zacchaeus, and I think I see Zacchaeus also sewing fig leaves together to make an apron for himself. He stood in the presence of the Lord.
Then he said, Lord, behold the half of my goods I give to the poor.
One big leaf.
If I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Zacchaeus got two figures sewn together when the Lord stopped him. And the Lord said the son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
The Old Testament to the New, from Adam to Zacchaeus, from one end of the alphabet to the other, if you wish. Man has been found guilty of putting on this robe of his own, providing a robe of his own self righteousness, and here we find that in the sight of God. It's recorded here as nothing.
But filthy rags?
Yesterday we were reminded of a man who was reigning as king in Nineveh.
And a messenger named Jonah came to that city and proclaimed in a short sermon of just 8 words, at least in our translation. Yet 40 days and Nineveh shall be overthrown. And what did the king of Nineveh do? Well, I've always pictured the king of Nineveh as he sat on that throne bar Been a very fine roll.
He might have thought that this accusation of guilt concerned those of his subjects.
Who perhaps didn't behave themselves as he did. But what did the king of Nineveh do? He rose up and laid aside his rose, covered him with sackcloth and sat in ashes. God wants you to do that tonight, my friend. God wants you to realize that the only blessing that you can receive.
00:15:04
Is yours, if you will lay aside this garment of filthy rags, this robe of self righteousness. There's a steam in which you hold yourself in the presence of those who know you, and never yet have you seen the eye of God looking down upon you.
Nor the voice of God proclaiming unclean, unclean and clothed in filthy rags. Again I say, my friend, and I say it in love to your soul. Then unless you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, unless those stains of sin have been washed away, this is your condition.
Unclean and clothed in filthy rags.
Those filthy rags may bring many a compliment from your neighbors and from your loved ones.
They may esteem you very highly for the good reputation you bear in the community, but my friend, that will stand you in no good state in the day when you meet the one who inspired the writing of these words. The king of Nineveh laid aside his robe and bowed low. And dust and ashes. And if we were to turn to, I believe it's Mark's gospel, we would find.
A poor blind beggar.
And he heard the voice of the Lord Jesus. He longed to stand before him, and to claim from him, if it were possible, sight for his four blind eyes. What did he do? He rose and cast aside his garment, and came to Jesus. Oh, my friend, from a king to a poor blind beggar.
The robes were laid aside. What about two at that time? Ever come in your life, my dear boy or girl, my dear young friend?
Whoever you may be, has the time come, my beloved friend, when you have honed all the two are and all that you have done will never, never, never fit you. For the day when you will step from time into eternity will never fit you for the glorious presence of that eternal One who longs to bless.
All our righteousnesses are as.
Filthy rags.
We read in the 10th chapter of Romans. Perhaps we could turn to it for a moment. I believe it's so very important. Romans chapter 10.
And verse 3.
For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves under the righteousness of God.
Going about to establish their own righteousness. We meet so much of that today. We meet with those who when they are faced with questions concerning eternity.
Well, just simply begin and end their conversation with a record of what I have done and what I hope to do. Going about to establish their own righteousness. But we reent Titus. Could we just turn to that verse also for a minute, Titus?
Chapter 3.
And verse 5.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy, He saved us.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, he says.
Someday I expect to be up there in the glory with the Lord Jesus Christ, and I quite expect to meet the apostle Paul up there.
What is his title to be there? I believe he would tell us the same thing from the third chapter of Philippians. We won't take time to turn to it, but he says there and be found in him not having mine own righteousness which is by the law, but what the but the righteousness which is of God by faith. Our beloved friend, will you allow.
00:20:05
God to open your eyes at this moment to see yourself portrayed in the language of this verse.
One who in the sight of God is unclean and clothed in the filthy rag of your own effort, your own righteousness, your own good deeds.
Could we turn now to the 19th chapter of John?
The 19th chapter of Dawn and the 23rd verse.
Then the soldiers when they had crucified Jesus.
Took his garments.
And made four parts to every soldier of parts, and also his coat. Now the coat was without seeing, woven from the top throughout. They said, therefore among themselves, let us not rend it, but cast luck for it whose it shall be, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. Which says, they parted my raiment among them.
And for my vesture, they did cast love.
These things, therefore, the soldiers did.
This is the second garment, beloved friend.
And a solemn picture this is Bob did not simply look down at you and me in all our unclean guilt.
God did not simply look down at you and me, clothed in the filthy rags of our own self righteousness and hide His face from us in our needs. God who is rich in mercy for His great love wherewith He loved us even when we were dead in sins. That one that very God who inspired the writing of the record in the 64th of Isaiah.
So loved you and so loved me.
Then He sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into this world in order that you and I might know the love of His heart, in order that you and I might not need to stand in their filthy rags of our own providing.
But in order that you and thy might be supplied with that which only God can supply.
The robe of righteousness which some of us by God matchless grace, rejoiced to possess this night. But here we find the one who was sent from God's loving heart, the Lord Jesus Christ, God's eternal, well beloved Son.
Hanging between 2 manufacturers.
That's what men thought of God's beloved Son. That's what the heart of man.
That is what my heart.
Said to the Lord Jesus Christ, the longer he walked among men.
The more He opened God's loving heart in the sight of man, the more their hatred against Him was made known. And here, having crowned him with thorns, having buffeted him, having spit in his face.
They have Him nailed to the cross. But that, beloved, did not suffice.
Wretched simple hands like mine.
Tore the very garment.
From Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
For the very garment from Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Pour them in part.
Past lost upon his vesture. Did God look down upon that?
Did God see that shame, that horrible indignity heaped upon his beloved Son? He said, Why did he do that? Because, my friend, he wanted you to have a role that would fit you for that eternal glory. Because he wanted you to have a Savior. Oh beloved, as my heart goes onward in this story.
If I see the Savior, the Son of God, hanging on that cross.
00:25:02
With all that shame and indignity heaps upon him, as I see those soldiers dividing his garments among them, I bow my head.
In adoration, that's my savior.
That one who hung there in all that shame upon the cross was none other than the sentiment of God, the one who loved you, the one who loved me.
The one who did the father's bidding, though it led him to the cross of Calvary. Now the rending of these garments.
Was not that which atoned for the guilt of my soul?
After those three hours.
May I speak in a way that might perhaps reach the dear children from 9:00 until 10, from 10 until 11, and from 11 until 12. The Lord Jesus hung there while guilty hearts like mine.
Stood around him and mocked him in his agony and in his shame. They watched the soldiers as they tore those garments in pieces. And justice simply looked up and further ridiculed the Christ of God who hung there upon the cross. But from 12 Till 1. From 1 until 2.
And from 2:00 until three, darkness covered the whole land.
And the holy hand of the Lord Jesus Christ was bowed as all the load and guilt and shame of my sins.
Was laid upon him.
All alone and guilt and shame of my sins was laid upon the Lord Jesus Christ, and stroke after stroke of the wrath of God that ought to have fallen upon me and upon you, fell upon the head of the Lord Jesus Christ, the sword that should have been my portion forever.
Wept again and again through the very soul of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Until after three hours, which no human eye could witness, the Lord Jesus cried aloud. It is finished, the work was done.
The judgment was exhausted. The debt was paid.
My Savior cried aloud. His head went down upon his bosom and vent.
There hung the one who took my guilt upon himself upon the cross.
And then a soldier with a spear came up that hillside and thrust the spear into the side of the one who hung there in death upon the cross. And from that wounded side there flowed the precious blood, which has been my theme and song for many a year now, and which will be my theme and joy forever.
With all the redeemed and the glory.
Oh, there's no need for you and I to stand before God in the filthy rags of our own self righteousness. The one whom God sent in love to redeem our souls has borne all that we deserved upon the cross. All our sins so great, so many have been laid upon him, and according to the wonderful language of the Word of God.
The language of Scripture is exhausted. Could I just mention a few of the wonderful verses that come before me in connection with?
Those many sins of ours, a 32nd Psalm. I believe it is blessed. It is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Isn't that good? Far better than being covered by filthy rags, covered by the very hand of God. Blessed is he whose sin is covered.
Then in dawn one we read Behold the Lamb of God, which.
Taketh away the sin of the world. Covered that ground, but taken away. Doesn't that sound better? And then we come to act 13 And we read, Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you.
00:30:11
The forgiveness of sin. Then we come to first Peter 2 when we read Christ Jesus through his own self.
Bore our sins in his own body on the tree.
First on one the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleansed us from all sins. Revelation one under him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. The 44th of Isaiah I even I am he that bloteth out.
Thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
Anymore. I love those verses, don't you?
Think of those sins.
Covers taken away, forgiven.
Burn on the body, the Lord Jesus Christ cleanse.
Washed, blotted out, remembered. No more forever.
Oh my friend, such is the happy state of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as saviors. And on the other hand, I come back to that statement made at the beginning. If that is not the condition of your heart at this moment, in the sight of God, till you stand and our time is slipping away, my friend, still you stand.
Love. Guilty, condemned.
And on your road to hell.
And there stands beside you the one whose garments were torn from him by the wretched hands of men.
The one who bowed his holy and sinless hands, and received that which we deserve, and exhausted there the wrath of God upon the cross of Calvary. That one, beloved, the Lord Jesus Christ, turn to you now and offers you instead of that perilous condition in which you stand, instead of that unclean heart of yours covered over with filthy rags, He offers.
That which he is now gloriously entitled to offer an eternal pardon and everlasting forgiveness, the assurance of sins forever blotted out to be remembered no more.
Have you ever considered this matter? Have you ever, alone in the presence of God, answered the solemn question, Am I lost or am I saved? Am I on my road to heaven or hell? There's no issue more vital than this. There's no answer more important than this answer. In fact, may I pause here to tell a story?
A story that was brought to my attention last evening.
When a young boy who may well be here tonight, his name is Andrew.
He came to me.
And he said, Mr. Haywood like to tell you that I am saved now.
I have accepted the Lord Jesus as my Savior.
I met that boy about two or three weeks ago and he couldn't tell me that.
And I inquired as to how it had taken place.
That dear boy had listened to this story, which you may have heard before.
A story that happened at the close of the Gospel meaning.
In which man, guilt, and the wondrous love of God and the freshest blood of Christ had been made known.
And at the close of the gospel meeting, this suggestion was This story was told.
Of a family, a father, a mother, a boy and a girl who had attended the gospel meeting.
And at the close of the meeting, the speaker suggested that on arriving at home, each one should take pencil and paper and write down if I die tonight.
I will go to.
And they were asked to fill in the appropriate and correct destiny and sign their names.
00:35:05
Family went home from the gospel meeting.
The mother very joyously got four pieces of paper. He filled in her own immediately. If I die tonight, I will go to heaven. And she signed her name, and so did the dear boy in similar language, and so did the dear girl also with the same glorious destiny, but the Father.
Who had been coaxed and begged into attending the gospel meeting that night.
That with the newspaper open in front of him, his little boy came over to him and said, Daddy, you remember what the preacher said at the meeting tonight? We've all written out our paper. Here's mummies and here's my sisters and here's mine. Aren't you going to write one too? But the daddy pretended that he was not the least bit interested and continued reading his newspaper.
The little boy was so disappointed.
So in his stylish hand he wrote out If I Die Tonight.
I will go to.
He brought it again to his dad. He said, Daddy, please, won't you fill it in?
Daddy became annoyed and he took his pen and he wrote HELL and signed his name and gave it to his boy.
This little boy took that paper over the mother and the little sisters, and the three of them knelt down in sorrow heart before the Lord.
But you know that Father was not as indifferent as he tried to appear.
He finally put the newspaper down and took a look across the room and there was his dear wife and his boy, his girl on their knees. He knew what was the trouble. He knew that they were praying for him. And he went over enjoying them, knelt down beside them and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as His favor and quickly changed the last word on that page from hell to heaven.
Well, dear Andrew heard that story told.
I believe it was just a week ago tomorrow.
And he went up to his room and got down on his knees and accepted the Lord's faith of Christ as his favorite. And I had the joy of having that dear boy confessed the Lord Jesus as Savior to me yesterday. Now, my dear friend, it's just as solemn as that. And it's just as simple as that. Your destiny is heaven forever.
Or your destiny is held forever and that this very moment you are on the road either to the one or to the other.
Could we turn over to the 15th chapter of Luke's Gospel?
The 15th chapter of Lukes Gospel.
Perhaps we will take time to read this story as I'm sure it's well known, but I do want to be read the 22nd verse.
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.
I love this story. I love to look upon it as God's wondrous answer to the shame and the indignity that we in our rebellion and our guilt heaps upon His own beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. For the garments, I say, were torn from the back of the Lord Jesus Christ and torn before his very eyes, and passed among those soldiers.
They parted my raiment among them, and upon my vesture they did cast lots.
Bring forth the best robe and put it on him. Oh, what a loving God we have that could look down at all that which the Lord Jesus suffered upon the cross, and in response could offer you and offer me this wondrous treasure. Think again of some of the language from the soul of the Lord Jesus. And he hung up on that cross.
00:40:00
I look for some to take pity and there were none.
Like the Father pity of his children, so the Lord pity of them that fear him.
But look for comforters and I found none. I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you. In my first they gave me vinegar to drink.
To him that is athirst will I give the fountain of the water of life.
By sinking deep mire where there is no standing, I am coming to deep Mars where the floods overflow me. When thou passes through the waters, I will be with thee through the flood. They shall not overflow thee. They that hate me without a caller more than the hairs of my head.
The Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me away with Him. Crucify Him. Let us draw mirrors with a true heart in full assurance of faith. Refuge failed me was fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. No man cared for my soul. Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
My beloved friend, let me tell you this.
That every blessing you can think of as one of the Lords redeemed ones cost him untold anguish upon the cross of Calvary, and those sweet promises will mean much more to your soul and mind if we trace in the Word of God what it cost him. That you and I might thus be blessed. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? I will never leave thee.
Forsaken, here we have just one of those blessings that are ours, The road that is loving Hand delights the author, the one who looked down upon his son as the road were stripped from him in shame upon the cross.
Now offer to you.
A robe that will clothe you suited for glory forever. Bring forth the best robe and put it on him.
My role, my fitness for the presence of God, is none other than the person of His own beloved Son, my Lord, my Savior, Jesus Christ, my robe of righteousness.
Again I say at this moment, my friend, guilty, lost and naked before the eye of God, or redeemed and clothed forever in the robe of God, providing you remember well the story of the Garden of Eden. We remarked on their making aprons of fig leaves, but God provided them with that which cost the shedding of blood.
Coats of skin made and provided and put on by God's own hands. To me, that's lovely. Bring forth the best robe and give it to Him. Oh no, the scripture doesn't say that. Bring forth the best robe and put it on him. Just see a poor unworthy Sinner.
With his head bowed as he realizes his guilt, and the God of all grace clothes him in that robe of righteousness.
And he is immediately fit for those courts of eternal glory.
It was at a conference like this though in the city of Ottawa.
Many years ago.
I sat in the gospel meeting and it was by number means the first one.
Over and over and over again.
I had heard from my father and my mother.
From my Sunday school teachers and from all dear men of God who faithfully and solemnly warned us and pleaded with us from the platform in Ottawa.
And I knew that I was lost. I knew that I was guilty. I knew that I was on my road to hell.
And that night, when a gospel meeting was over, I went to my home. I went up to my room. I knelt down and told him of my lost and guilty condition, and with the faith of a boy, for that's all I was.
00:45:08
With a faith, God-given faith.
Good boy.
I receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. Oh, you know, sometimes I feel that full stumble that the wonderful truth of the gospel because of its wondrous simplicity.
If I went to a physician and he diagnosed some trouble that I knew nothing about, and he offered me as a remedy certain medication which again, I knew nothing at all about, would it be necessary for me to understand in detail all his diagnosis and the ingredients of this medication and their proportions and all the rest of it? I don't have the ability to.
These things that I could believe, two things I could believe these diagnosis was correct. I could believe that the remedy was the right remedy and all I would need to do is take it. And if the diagnosis and remedy were correct, the result would be *******. And now my beloved friend, I want to tell you this, that God diagnosis in your condition and of mine is this.
Unclean and clothed in filthy rags and God's remedies.
God's remedy is offered to you tonight is own beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who shed his precious blood that you and I might be redeemed, is offered to you tonight as God's remedy.
When you accept the Lord Jesus as your Savior, will you own your guilt? Will you own your knee? Will you bow your head right where you are and in simple faith, as every other child of God has done in this company and simply.
Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior. We have that awful robe of filthy rags.
We have the garments that were stripped from the Lord Jesus Christ as He hung for our redemption upon the cross of Calvary. And now we have this glorious robe of God, providing that many of us have received with Thanksgiving. But there's one more robe. A very solemn of my friend.
In the Book of Revelation.
The 19th chapter, the 19th of Revelation and the 11 verse.
And I saw heaven open, and behold, a White Horse.
And he that sat upon him was called faithful and true, and in righteousness he observed to make war.
His eyes were the flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns.
And he had a name written that no man knew but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood.
His name is called the Word of God. This has not yet happened.
This, as we heard last night, is a voice that will be heard.
And I believe very soon, I tell you this, my friend, with all that all man's bonded boasting, he's going to see this take place before his very eyes.
He is going to look up into those heavens that now challenge his imagination, and he is going to see the heavens open, and he is going to see the man who hung up on the cross of Calvary, and all that shame come forth, not this time with garments torn from him by the hands of men.
But clothed in a vesture dipped in blood. That solemn language, my friend, But it's true.
And it's my responsibility to warn you that unless you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, unless your heart is cleansed from every stain by the precious blood of Christ, unless the record of your life up there in glory is whiter than snow through the virtue of that most precious blood. You, my beloved friend.
00:50:06
Will witness this most awful event.
Lord Jesus is coming at any moment to call home to Himself each and everyone who has been sheltered by His almost precious life. I know it's an old-fashioned message. I know that the words saved and lost have been considered out of date for a long time now. I was just reading before I came away.
The book written by one of the highest religious authorities in England.
And I shuddered as I read that book. He was tearing this precious word of God to shred.
And taking away all these realities, which means so much to the soul of the redeemed.
Then giving utterly and absolutely nothing in return except a vain and empty philosophy with nothing for the future. My friend, let me tell you this. This book I hold in my hand proclaimed with no shadow of uncertainty.
Two futures. One is the redeemed of the Lord, clad in that glorious robe of His own providing.
And the awful future.
Are those who will meet him as a judge.
And a master dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word gone, the word of God. Isn't that a solemn statement? This precious book that is now being attacked not by atheists and influence, but is being attacked by the man of the purpose and torn to shred before the eyes of the dear children and young people?
Oh, May God preserve you, dear boys and girls and young people.
Ever to call this precious book the Word of God. For the Word of God it is from cover Cover. And you know why man wants to get rid of it. You know why man wants to tear pages from it and classify it as mythology.
Because it contains the song Finger of God pointing to each and every one of Adams Racing, proclaiming you.
Lost and guilty and on your road to hell or cleanse. Pardoned and redeemed and on your road to glory.
I say again, the day is coming and I believe it to be very, very near. When the last gospel message will be sounded out. The redeemed of the Lord will be called home. Those who have not accepted Christ as Savior will be left behind. Will you just ask your heart now?
If before we leave this room, the Lord were to come, and by hope He does, with that glorious shout of triumph and welcome, and all the redeemed in this company were called home, What about you, my boy? Would you be ready?
What about you, my dear friend? Are you sure that as the eye of God looks down upon that heart of yours, it is cleansed from every stain by the blood of Christ?
Why wait? Why wait another moment? Why not right now? Open your heart to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? I say again, after we have been called home, the heavens will be opened and the Christ of God, the Word of God, will come forth.
In power and majesty and vengeance close in a vaster dipped in blood.
This world is guilty. God has a record of this world's guilt.
Our brother pointed out to us this afternoon that the weight of the bride could not be found out. That which the Lord Jesus endured for my sake from the hand of God can never be measured by mortal man. But the weight of the nails was found out, and it was recorded. Way to the males, my friend, the Guild of man.
It's been recorded, the weight of the mail, think of that is written down in the building of Solomon's temple and all the indignity that man heaps upon the Lord Jesus Christ, even to the male that were driven into his holy hands. It's all been written down and man is going to give an account.
00:55:07
Oh, what a solemn future lies before you, my friend. I've said it before, but I say it again in closing.
That I dare not exaggerate what I find in this book, and I dare not withhold it either.
For the Word of God has painted this solemn picture, that the very last sight your eyes will ever see, if you are lost, will be a sight of the face of Jesus Christ. As I read the description of that which lies ahead, my soul tremble to look into the faces that are before me now.
For if there is one here without Christ, this is what God has to say.
The last sight will be a sight.
Of the faith of Jesus Christ.
That that faith fade away and be followed by.
Eternal darkness.
Am I exaggerating? Am I painting a picture that this book does not portray? Oh, my friend, it's the truth of God. Think of that. A boy or a girl brought up in a Christian home to carry with you into the darkness of eternal hell as a last memory, the face of Jesus Christ, whom your father and your mother love.
And the last voice ever to hear the voice of Jesus Christ.
And then eternal darkness.
The wailing of the lost forever.
Colossians 1:9
