Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth . . . but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven . . . for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The late Sonny Liston, ex-heavyweight boxing champion of the world, used to say: “Everyone wants to get to heaven; but nobody wants to die.” There are God-given attachments to loved ones which we are not expected to want to sever; and we are not expected to want to pass through the pains of death; however, Mr. Liston’s statement is a commentary on where people have their treasure and their heart. Would you like to have a greater longing for heaven? Transfer more of your treasure there.
