2CO 4:88We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (2 Corinthians 4:8) PHI 4:88Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed.
I have learned . . . to be content.
The Apostle Paul is a tremendous example for us. How many of us could say that we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed? For many of us just one problem is enough to “get us down.” What was Paul’s secret? He had learned, through experience with God, to be content - anywhere, any time, in any circumstances. He knew the Source of contentment - Jesus, the Son of God. So although troubles raged, Paul was not distressed. Do you know Jesus that well?
