GEN 12:5⁵And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. (Genesis 12:5)

And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son.

God’s call to Abram had been to leave his father’s house. Abram chose to take his nephew with him. What was wrong with that? Abram went out by faith because God told him to. Lot did not - he was just going on Abram’s faith. When you mix those who have faith with those who don’t, sooner or later there will be trouble. There was, and Abram could not receive the full blessing of God until he and Lot separated. So for us there can be no real blessing in our lives if we are in association with the world.
