Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth   .   .   . covetousness.
I went coveting over the new 1994 cars the other day. Sadly, my bank account isn’t big enough to afford one. So all I could do was look and wish. But coveting has got this country into a desperate financial situation. God calls covetousness idolatry - the thing that God hates most of all. Covetousness is really unbridled desire. This is what we have to control and keep locked up. The Old Testament says not to covet your neighbor’s house, wife, servant, or anything that is your neighbor’s.
