Nehemiah and those rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem had to be careful. The enemy was trying to stop their work. So God’s servant and his helpers worked with one hand and held a weapon in the other. They were watchful, just like a bird feeding who constantly raises its head to watch for danger. We should be the same. There is much danger around us. Don’t go around in a dream. Be constantly on the alert -and armed (with the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God) - ready to fight.
