Why Do I Believe on Christ?

Today men are leagued with devils in their efforts to dethrone Christ. Gethsemane and Calvary are no longer sacred to them. They know not Him Whom to know is life eternal. “He is despised and rejected of men.” But “to those who believe He is precious.” What is my thought of Christ?
I solemnly declare I rest my soul for all eternity upon the finished work of Christ. I rest my hopes of heaven upon the fact of His being there—having by His death and resurrection and ascension proved that my sins are all borne and put away. He who was made sin for us on the cross is ire heaven now without sin—yes, in the presence of God for us.
I want no other way to heaven than Christ the way. I want no other door of salvation than Christ the door. I want no other light to shine upon me than Christ the light. I want no other name than the name of Jesus. I believe in no other work for salvation than His finished work. I am content—yes, my God, well content—with what Christ has done for me. I am assured in my heart of hearts that “the blood of Jesus Christ (God’s Son) cleanseth.us from all sin”— that “we are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ.”
Why do I believe all this? Because I have internal and external evidences of His power “to save to the uttermost all who come unto God by Him.”
I give you now, dear soldiers, the conversion of one of yourselves, through faith in Christ as, his Saviour.
