A little girl was standing on the corner of a busy street looking very frightened and worried. She looked eagerly and carefully into the faces of those who passed by, evidently wanting someone to take her across the road in safety.
A Christian man came along and she took one keen look at his face. Then she stepped forward, and asked him if he would please take her over.
He did so, with care and, gentleness, and then asked her, “There were many others passing by, and why did you ask me instead of one of them?
“Oh sir,” said the little girl, “when I looked into your face, you looked so kind that I felt I could trust you.”
Dear boys and girls, you have a journey to take, and a very dangerous and difficult journey it is. Perhaps you have already traveled along the road of Time for 10 or 15 years, but who is holding your hand? You will meet with many trials and temptations along that journey, and the Lord Jesus wants to take your hand and lead you safely through to the glory. He says “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:66Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)). If you wish your journey end safely in heaven and if you wish be kept from much sorrow and happiness along the journey, look up to Jesus, and you will say as the dear little girl did, “I know I can trust Him.”
