He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
We should never trust our own heart. The Scripture says that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. We can easily persuade ourselves that something is right when, in the light of Scripture, it is absolutely wrong. So our decisions must be based on the Word of God, asking Him for wisdom so that we can make the right choice. A decision made in the fear of God and with the guidance of His Word will be the right one. One made based on only our feelings could be disastrous.
