Death to the believer as seen in 2 Corinthians 5.
Product Spotlight
Every true believer in Christ has two natures. The first is what he or she possesses as a child of Adam - it is a nature shared by all. The second is that divine life which we now possess as children of God. These are sometimes referred to as our old and new natures - one comes with natural birth, the other with new birth. This subject is not an academic one. If we do not understand that we, as believers, possess a new nature, and that our old nature is dead in God's sight, it will result in a frustrating struggle. Throughout the history of Christianity many a saint has sought to subdue the flesh and eradicate sin, not understanding that it is altogether done with in God's sight, and that he or she can live in the good of a new nature and the power of the Holy Spirit.

This epistle was written to encourage Timothy to serve in a difficult day when the mass of the Christian profession was giving up on the Apostle Paul and his doctrine. It forewarns belivers of the progressive character of corruption that would permeate Christendom and culminate in the last days with a wholesale departure from the truth of God.

The Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. (Zech. 12:1)
Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11:28)
I am the Lord that healeth thee. (Ex. 15:26)
I heard the voice of Jesus say,
    “Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, you weary one, lay down
    Your head upon My breast”;
I came to Jesus as I was,
    Weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting-place,
    And He has made me glad.

Growing in Grace
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge” (Ephesians 3:17-19).
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith” (Colossians 2:6-7).
A tree must have roots in order to be able to withstand strong winds and storms. Probably the largest trees in the world today are the giant redwood trees that grow on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the U.S.A. They can grow up to 350 feet tall (about 107 meters) and can have a circumference of 30 feet (about 9 meters) or more.
Like other trees, when they are not under tremendous stress from conditions such as drought or fire, they channel all their energy into fortifying themselves. They take in nutrients that enable them to put down new, deeper roots and help them branch out in search of sunlight. This helps to ensure that they are strong and better prepared to withstand any adverse conditions that may lie ahead, from wind and rain, to drought, wildfires and more.
What is surprising is that their root systems rarely go down more than 6-12 feet (2-4 meters). But the redwood trees rarely fall over. The reason for this is that their root systems are intertwined with the roots of other redwood trees, so that they hold each other up. They grow very close together, and help each other to survive. They also share nutrients with one another.
These trees teach us a lesson too. We need to be well rooted in the love of Christ, and in the truth of God’s Word, in order not to be knocked over by storms in our lives. But we also need to support one another, like the redwood trees. If we see someone else who seems to be having difficulties, let us support them, so that they can continue on in the Christian pathway. Perhaps at another time, they will be able to be a help to us!

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee. (Deuteronomy 18:18)
[Moses] stood between the Lord and you at that time, to show you the word of the Lord: for ye were afraid.1 – There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.2
Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.3 – Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.4 – Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.5
Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; but Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.6

Comfort of the Scriptures
“Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart” (Psa. 119:2).
Blessed indeed are they who wholeheartedly seek to obey the Word of God. To do so is to seek Him, our blessed Lord, who said that “the Scriptures ... are they which testify of Me.” “Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.” To “keep His testimonies” is to honor Him. He said, “If ye love Me, keep My commandments,” and “if a man love Me, he will keep My words.” “Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.” Truly, “blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Be sure that “ye are doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. ... A doer of the work ... shall be blessed in his deed,” for “blessed are they that hear the word of God, and do it.”
Hear the Word, and do it;
Fail not its plea to heed;
Your Lord shall be honored,
And you’ll be blessed indeed.
