JOS 5:14¹⁴And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? (Joshua 5:14)

Joshua fell on his face . . . and did worship.

In the presence of the Lord, Joshua (even as powerful a leader as he was) fell on his face. There is an important lesson here for us. When we come into the Lord’s presence, we must show respect, reverence and humility. The Lord - He is God. We are His creatures. We must show reverence to Him. This is not fear as in “afraid”; it’s just that we recognize the Lord as our God and Creator. We must respect Him and take our proper place, the only place of blessing - at His feet.
