Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
There is a lesson here for us. We cannot bring any of the world’s contamination into the Lord’s presence when we go to Him to worship. It must be left behind. That is pictured to us by Joshua having to remove his shoes. They were in constant contact with the ground and picked up contamination. We are in contact with the world and its ways. We have to put them off before we go to meet with the Lord.
