Dear Young Christian:

The Lord wants us to come to Him with a teachable spirit, eager to learn and to have our thoughts moulded and formed by the Scriptures. We need to have the attitude of David, when on two occasions he penned the prayer, “Teach me Thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies” (Psalm 27:11).And again, “Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name” (Psalm 86:11). And then his further desire expressed when he prayed, “Teach me to do Thy will” (Psalm 143:10).

Our Creator knows us through and through. He watches us with a steady eye and understands us completely. He knows what is best for us, and He has not left us in the dark as to His will, and what is for our blessing and happiness.

As you start another week, consider this truth well, and remember the exhortation from the book of James: “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22).

Your Christian Friend.
