Submit & Accept
When things don’t go as you would like, submit and accept the situation immediately. If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over into resentment and bitterness. One of the keys to this is found in the words of Peter’s epistle: “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7).
Rejoice in what the Lord is doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding. Through all the din and confusion of daily routine, keep your eye of faith focused on Christ. This is the ultimate challenge in the Christian race. No matter what is going on around you, don’t lose sight of Christ and the prize. “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus” (Hebrews 12:1-2).
When Christ is our object and heaven our goal, we are able to view our circumstances from His perspective. Then and only then will we be able to truly and completely submit and accept.
