One God
There are many false deities worshipped and prayed to everyday in this world. However, the God of the Bible says, “There is no God else beside Me” (Isaiah 45:21). We further read, “Hath not one God created us” (Malachi 2:10)? The New Testament reaffirms, “There is one God” (1 Timothy 2:5).
In other words we are not given a choice of the sort of God we want to believe in or not believe in. This is the God we must face. When the Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in Thessalonica he reminded them that they had, “turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come” (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10).
This true and living God has provided a Savior through the sacrifice of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, on the cross. “For there is … one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
