Dear Young Christian:

It is interesting to note that nowhere in the Bible is the word “personality” used. God never asks for personalities, He asks for persons. He is not just looking for certain types of people with certain characteristics, like a corporation might when doing job interviews for certain positions within the company. No, He chooses and calls all kinds of people. More often than not, He selects quite ordinary men and women to do His work. Then He gives them the power and resources they need and sends them forth to accomplish His will.

As you start out today, remember that you have been chosen for a specific purpose and work. Everything you need to accomplish that work has been provided. Keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus: “Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you” (John 15:16).
