Comfort — Part 3 Here are some further ways we are comforted: • Comfort from the Word of God: “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4). • Comfort from one another: “And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother” (John 11:19). • Comfort of His coming: “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). • Comfort in our soul: “In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul” (Psalm 94:19).
