Q. What does it mean to be justified? Is it the same as forgiveness? (Part 2)

A. To justify us, God takes a guilty sinner and gives him a righteous standing, having been not only forgiven, but acquitted of every transgression. This is how we can be perfectly comfortable in the presence of Godbecause we have been “made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). In this way “we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

Justification is an act of God, once and for all, and forever. There are no degrees of justification. It is true of everyone who has believed. God is, “just, and the Justifier of him which believeth in Jesus” (Romans 3:26). Christ has paid the penalty for sin, God is satisfied, and is just in forgiving and justifying those who have received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. Every believer stands before God in all the perfection of His Son.

We are justified

“By His grace” (Romans 2:24).That is the way.

“By faith” (Romans 3:28).That is the means.

“By His blood” (Romans 5:9).That is the ground.

We would love to hear from you.
