Not Immune
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
We can expect to encounter adversity in our Christian life. We still live in a world that is under the curse of sin and its affects. Just being Christians does not make us immune to what the unbeliever experiences. So often we try to find a way that circumvents difficulties instead of accepting them from the good hand of our loving Father and going through them with a sense of His presence with us. If we had an easy life it would cause us to forget God and our dependence on the Lord.
When we come face-to-face with impossibilities and situations totally beyond our control and ability to handle, that is when we learn to lean on Him. When you see armies of problems marching toward you, turn it all over to the one who promises, “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:20).
