Him Only!

“Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only” (Luke 4:8).

No other person or being is to be worshiped. No other is worthy of the adoration of man’s heart and soul.

 The writer of Psalm 45 said, “So shall the King greatly desire thy beauty: for He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him” (verse 11).

When John tried to worship the angel, he immediately said to him, “See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God” (Revelation 19:10).

The Lord Himself said to the woman that He met while sitting alone at the well of Sychar, “The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him” (John 4:23).

So we learn that God the Father and God the Son are the only ones that we are to worship.

As we come together today, may we truly “Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness” (Psalm 96:9).
