Joy In … Joy is one of the outstanding characteristics of Christianity. The Lord Jesus said to His disciples, “These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full” (John 15:11). He also said: “Your joy no man taketh from you” (John 16:22). This is a joy that only a believer can have and experience. What a comfort it is to know that the whole Trinity is interested in our joy. God: “I will joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:18). “We also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” (Romans 5:11). The Lord: “The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord” (Isaiah 29:19). The Holy Spirit: “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17).
