Dear Young Christian:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1).

Do you only do the minimumsimply what is expected of you and no more? Or do you go the extra mile? How will it be when you stand before the Lord? Will you have gone out of your way to serve Him by helping a fellow-believer, by helping with a gospel outreach, or by generally being available in His service, whatever He may have for you to do? Will He commend you for being “fervent in spirit; serving the Lord” (Romans 12:11).

As we start out on another week of Christian living, let’s think seriously about giving ourselves wholeheartedly to the Lord and His service. “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do” (Luke 17:10).

Your Christian Friend,

Jim Hyland

We would love to hear from you.
