The Time of Trouble “Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15). Here are four statements that are good to say from our hearts when we are in times of trouble: First: He brought me here; it is by His will I am in this difficult place; in that I will rest. Next: He will here keep me in His love, and give me grace in this trial to behave as His child. Then: He will make the trial a blessing — teaching me the lessons He means me to learn, and working in me the grace He intends for me. Last: In His good time, He can bring me out again — how and when, only HE KNOWS. In short, say I AM HERE: 1. By God’s appointment. 2. In His keeping. 3. Under His training. 4. For His time. And remember, “In the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5). (Adapted from A. Murray.)
