Delays — Part 3
One thing is for sure and certain — the delay I experienced at the airport in London was for my good!
The children of Israel, when journeying through the wilderness, complained and questioned the ways and wisdom of God in His dealing with them. They chafed over His delays, and directions. Why did He lead them this way and that way … why the thirst … why the hunger … why … why … why?
However, there is an interesting comment made about their forty-year journey later on in the Word of God. We read, “He led them forth by the right way” (Psalm 107:7). In retrospect, they realized that His way was the right way. Someday, we too will own the same. How good if we can get ahold of this concept now. It gives great peace of mind.
Life is not all smooth and easy, but it’s better to go over a rough and difficult road with friends, than the smoothest highway alone.
The Christian is never alone, for the promise of the Lord Jesus remains, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). One of the last things He said to His disciples here on earth was, “And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:20).
