Thy Ways

“As for God, His way is perfect” (Psalm 18:30).

“Shew me Thy ways, O Lord; teach me Thy paths” (Psalm 25:4).

Thy ways are right and perfect,

Though oft we credit not:

We think that we are wiser,

That we are better taught:

But God, our thoughts are feeble,

We know not what to choose,

And if we plan our own way,

We then the blessing lose.

Delays, they often frustrate — 

Denials baffle too;

We cannot always reckon,

We do not always view

The plan, the purposed pattern,

Our Father has in mind:

But we can rest in knowing,

Thy ways are best and kind.
