Melting Hearts “If the Son therefore shall make you free, When I was a boy, we learned a little rhyme that went something like this: An icicle hung on an old brick wall, And said to the sun, “I don’t like you at all!” Drip, drip, drip. Yes, the sun melts the snow and ice, and, for those of us who live in northern climates, we are thankful for sunny days, even in the dead of winter, when things melt — at least to some extent. Then for warm spring days when things melt away for another season, and we put away our shovels for a few months. But there is another sun that melts cold, hard, sinful hearts. It is God’s Son the Lord Jesus Christ. His love has conquered many stubborn hearts, and turned many to Himself. I have known many who have been melted to tears of repentance and gratitude, and who have come to know the Son as their Savior and Lord. If your heart is still icy toward God and His Son, let their love shine in today, and change you forever.
