Dear Young Christian: The most influential people in the world are not those who lobby for certain causes or who get involved in humanitarian projects, but the people who spend time in prayer. We can talk about prayer and praying for one another. We can tell others that we are praying for them, but do we really spend quality time in prayer? The Lord said, “that men ought always to pray” (Luke 18:1). Paul exhorts us, “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). And again, “I will therefore that men pray every where” (1 Timothy 2:8). We are also told, “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving” (Colossians 4:2). What will characterize your life this week? Will you be a young man or woman of prayer? Prayer is a real thing , a real and powerful resource. Don’t just know about it and don’t just talk about it … do it. It will make a great difference. Live with a sense that the Lord is there beside you. Talk to Him, and experience the joy and power of genuine prayer! I want you to have a prayerful, powerful, productive week!
