Dear Young Christian:

In our lifetime, we will have many surprises, and who knows what surprises you will have this week. Things you didn’t expect or want. Frustrated plans and circumstances you never thought possible may be your lot before the week is over. So, here is a good verse to tuck away in your memory and remember when such surprises come your way. “Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:18).

Nothing in our life happens by chance, and all is ordered from the good hand of the Lord. Nehemiah said, concerning a certain circumstance in his life, that it was, “according to the good hand of my God upon me” (Nehemiah 2:8). Never forget that!

Whatever happens this week, remember, we may have many surprises, but nothing surprises the one who has had it all ordered for our good and blessing long ago, and “who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will” (Ephesians 1:11).
