The Beauties of Christ

A Christian many years ago used to pray the following prayer every morning: “I pray that this day the beauty of Christ may be seen in me.”

This would be a good start to the day for all of us. The Apostle Paul expressed it in a similar way: “So now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death” (Philippians 1:20). No matter what his circumstances, or where he was, his desire was that others would see something of Christ reflected in His life.

How much of Christ will be seen in your life today? Will there be some reflection of Him in your actions, your spirit and attitude, and in what you say? Paul further said to the believers at Philippi, “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15).Our friends, our neighbours, our fellow-students, our co-workers, all watch to see if we are living Christ. Our greatest testimony is not always in what we say but in what we do. There is an old expression, “Actions speak louder than words!” How true that is! May Christ be seen in each one of us today!
