Dear Young Christian: Yesterday, I passed a wall in the village of Ashton, on Union Island. On the wall, neatly painted, was the following, thought-provoking question: JESUS LOVES YOU, DO YOU LOVE JESUS? It made me think of the verse, “We love Him, because He first loved us” (John 4:19). Really, the question for the believer is, “How much do we enjoy Jesus’ love for us?” In the measure in which we enjoy how much He loves us it will increase our love for Him. Instead of being discouraged because our response of love may seem small, let’s dive into the vast ocean of His love. Here are some verses to enjoy in this connection: “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jeremiah 31:3). “His great love wherewith He loved us” (Ephesians 2:4). “And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge” (Ephesians 3:19).
