Monthly Question Page — Part 2
Q. Will the earth remain forever and will there be people living on the earth forever?
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea … And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away … . Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:1, 4). These verses indicate there will be a new (cleansed) earth.
Who will live on this “new earth”? Let the Bible answer the question. “I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands … These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 21:3). Those who inhabit the “new earth” will be the righteous millennial saints. They will dwell in a perfect, fixed state of things where sin will never affect them.
