Questions & Doubts
The work of Satan has always been to raise questions and doubts, especially in connection with the Word of God.
The first recorded words of Satan in the Old Testament are, “Hath God said” (Genesis 3:1)? Here is one of Satan’s oldest tricks, immediately trying to raise a doubt in the mind of Eve as to whether God had really spoken and whether what He said was true. The first recorded words of Satan in the New Testament are, “If Thou be the Son of God” (Matthew 4:3). When the Living Word came, Satan immediately tried to raise a doubt as to whether the Lord Jesus was really who He said He was.
Satan is still raising those same doubts and questions today. Has God really spoken through the written Word, the Bible? Is the Lord really the eternal Word as presented to us in the Gospel of John, where we read, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14)?
Don’t let questions like this trouble you, as they come straight from Satan himself. The Bible states, “Thy Word is truth” (John 17:17).
