Practical Holiness

“Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity” (2 Timothy 2:19).

Scripture is very clear. There is a call to the individual believer to depart from iniquitysinunholinesswickednesswhether religious, doctrinal, or moral. Christ cannot link His name with evil. The Bible, from the beginning to the end, teaches us that sin is a thing that is not fit for His presence or the presence of His people. Here are three exhortation to practical holiness in our everyday life:

“Sanctify yourselves therefore, and BE YE HOLY: for I am the Lord your God” (Leviticus 20:7).

“But as He which hath called you is holy, so BE YE HOLY in all manner of conversation” (1 Peter 1:15).

“Because it is written, BE YE HOLY; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).

Therefore, if we ever find ourselves identified with that which either supports evil or is evil, we are called to depart from itand not just in part, but to completely and wholly sever all ties so that we can walk in full fellowship with the Lord. Take that step of faith. Leave what is evil and let the Lord show you what the next step is.
