Dear Young Christian:

 “The word of the Lord was precious in those days” (1 Samuel 3:1).

“But what saith it? The Word is nigh thee” (Romans 10:8).

Recently five of us travelled twenty-two hours into the interior of Guyana, South America. As we travelled from town to town and through the jungle villages, we were asked time and again for a Bible or New Testament. We gave out what we had but it was, as we say, Only a drop in the bucket. How many Bibles do you have in your home? Count them sometime, and I think you will be surprised at the number you come up with.

However, the real question is, How much do you value and read the Word of God? There are many believers in the world today who have never been able to own their own Bible, and many souls who have never even heard of the Word of God, or the way of salvation. You could have been one of them, apart from His grace and kindness.
