While You Are Young

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them” (Ecclesiastes 12:1).

As I travel through the Caribbean and parts of South America, we have many opportunities to speak in schools and give the gospel to boys and girls and young people of all ages. However, I find that young children are much more receptive than teenagers and older folks. The problem is that, as we get older, the devil has more and more of sin and the world to offer, and more and more to take our minds and hearts away from considering the Savior and the need for salvation. This is one reason why the Bible tells us to consider these matters in the days of our youth. God is able to save even the most elderly, but He wants us to be saved while we are young. This is so we have our whole life to live for Him. Even more importantly, we do not know how long we have to live or when He is coming back, and then it will be too late. If you’re not saved, don’t put it off! Every day you do, your heart becomes a little more indifferent and a little harder.
