For Me

Today, I want to simply share two verses of a hymn that I have sung and heard sung at meetings for as long as I can remember. For those of my readers who are familiar with the Little Flock Hymnbook, you will recognize it as #137.

O Christ, what burdens bowed Thy head!
Our load was laid on Thee;
Thou stoodest in the sinner’s stead
To bear all ill
for me,
A victim led, Thy blood was shed;
Now there’s no load
for me.

For me, Lord Jesus, Thou hast died,
And I have died in Thee;
Thou’rt risen: my bands are all untied
And now Thou liv’st
in me.
The Father’s face of radiant grace
Shines now in light
on me.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5).
